Just commenting in case it helps others. I didn't see "tip" listed in the drop down menu until I hit the x. After that auto and tip were listed. The first time I used this plate was with the the 3/8" groovee jenny, the bit was placed so the outer diameter was at the corner. I think this setting will put the tip right on the corner. So, would you mind describing how would you set irregular bits before you got the auto zero. I know how I do it but I don't know if I'm doing it correctly but however while I'm watching that touch plate I see now what I need to to do differently.
Great video, thanks. I wonder why they had it made so thick. I don't normally like to protrude my vbits that far out of the collet. It just seems to be to thick, they could of still done this design but a bit thinner. It just looks crowded in the throat of the probe......on a side note I did change my order of my 48x30 mk2 to swap out from the og probe to this one. Just wish it would come to me sooner then July lol.
Yeah not sure. The V Or Ball bits don't touch the sides so the depth didn't end up being an issue on my end. I think I could have shortened them up some. I believe you will like it. Sorry you are waiting so long. Material shortages suck for sure!
@@BuckysCustoms setting myself up for when I retire. Doing some light duty wood work jobs, signs, clocks, maybe crib boards, trinkets and gadgets lol. I currently have a next wave shark the first gen and it's a bit sloppy without and great precision and I use aspire with that. I want to get into more 3d stuff but with the slop in the machine it gets frustrating when you spend all the time in design and cut and it looks like crap at the end. Went all out with the 48/30 with every add on and laser beam.
@@rickgauthier6597 Me too! I had a small Bravo Prodigy and found it to be very limiting with regard to its software. Although, I suppose it was state of the art ten years ago! With Benchtop CNC machines getting more popular the past five years I started looking again and SienciLabs was one of the first I checked out. So happy I did! Feel free to reach out anytime. How do you use the touch plate on the upper left or right corners to set your starting point of the project in G sender. I tried it on the upper left corner and it bent my bit because it traveled as if it was positioned in the lower left corner. I don't see any setting in the software to change the home position like you can in Vcarve.

I used a straight bit to x and y. Then I installed the v bit and zero zed.

Did you create your project using upper left or right start point?
can the reg touch plate be used with any machine
gSender can be used with other machines so I would assume the touch block can as well
