That was super helpful. I have both versions of this sprinkler as well. I had no idea that you had to do that with the stator discs with the different nozzles. Always learning something new from this community.

The TDR was a tricky little guy because of the hidden disk. I think most people left the factory installed nozzle in and didn't bother with the others. Great sprinklers nonetheless. Thanks for the comment !

Well put together video. Very much appreciate the information you convey in this video. Very complete explanation of the purpose of the stator. I appreciate these a lot more now than I did when they were introduced.

Thanks for the kind words ! I rushed to get this video out as made evident by me stating it was almost November! Ha. By far one of the most forgiving rotors. Hard to kill one of these.

Hello. What setting would i use with a 2.0 nozzle to make the turf bird move super fast?

I'm not sure you could make it go super fast with the 2.0 nozzle. The stator basically limits the flow to the nozzle based in size so the correct amount goes thru the stator and keeps rotation constant. By forcing more water thru the stator you will get a faster rotation. So in theory, if you had a 2.0 nozzle and set the stator to the 1.5 setting technically you'd get a little faster rotation.

What year is your lawn bird? The latest one I found was made in feburary of 1993 and it has the adjustable stator.

@@MikeMac89 It's really cool what you got. You have what the pictures on the box shows. My R-50 shrub has this same style logo on the turret and utilizes the same stator nozzle disc. I don't think their was a date on it. It must've been marketed on the Commercial side briefly and as old as your Lawn Bird Rotor. I also find it interesting that they claimed these were "quiet". I think they were mistaking these for the CCR-2. Which I believe were sold briefly as well in the early 90s.
