Does anybody else remember back in the day when watching your favorite TV show run the opening credits and theme song was just as important as watching the show itself?! Favorite part was always Lenny and Squiggy busting in the door with Squiggy where are the fireman's hat, classic! David Lander rest in peace!

Their chemistry was amazing. Cindy Williams said she never worked with anyone again where she just instinctively knew what her screen partner was going to do. The show and the actresses never got the acclaim they deserved.
My heart hurts watching this. Now with David Lander gone it's heartbreaking watching the Squiggy scenes. That said both Penny & David would want their fans to keep watching the shows and laugh not cry. Have moments but keep going. 💓. Laverne & Squiggy live on in our hearts forever

The first time i heard this theme in the radio i went to old fort Erie day camp to say my good byes and there was nobody there i wanted to cry the cabin was closed and locked up there was a big chain around the door And not a soul was there it was like the wind was knocked out if my sales that was back in 1976 the Most depressing thing was Laverne (Penny Marshall) Got fat and died cindy Williams is half way there and if you see the reunion it's depressing to watch this because it reminds me my childhood is gone and I'm an old man now i keep thinking if that day I showed up at the camp and nobody else was there. For some reason I'm drawn to this like a magnet i keep Watching and waiting for something to happen and it doesn't and it makes me think of things in my life that are no more and it depresses me further yet u keep watching it i ought to have my head examined.

The show definitely jumped the shark when they took the girls out of Milwaukee and set them in California. Cindy felt she was always second banana to Penny Marshall and they treated her as such. Why they even called it Laverne and Shirley after Shirley is a mystery. A great show where the egos and powers that be ruined a good thing.
The setting should have stayed in Milwaukee; New York would have been a good setting because that's where Penny is from originally. The show took a bath when Cindy left; even though she played second banana to Penny, I liked her and thought she was good.
