- Using AI's magic, we upscaled the iconic Happy Days openings to 4K.
Remember that Seasons 7-11 were never "remastered" by the studios, so upscaling the copies off Amazon Prime didn't produce the best results. Going to work on a better copy.

Its funny how around the 5th or 6th season they were just like quit trying to wear their hair and dress like the 50's and wore their 70's hairstyles. And Chachi didn't even bother trying.

@@DudeBox_I watch this great family show on classic tv channels. Happy Days is a great family show. I hope that the next time that guy in the convertible is more careful not to squirt ketchup in his girlfriends beautiful face like the clip of the season openings.😂
The same thing happened on MASH -- Hot Lips spent the end of the war with Farrah Fawcett's hairdo.

Soon as Scott Baio entered the intro credits show was cooked……once Ted McGinley entered the picture it was really over!

Poor Ted McGinley. Jump The Shark used to have a whole category just devoted to him. He killed multiple shows, I can’t remember them all. Happy Days, Married with Children, Love Boat, I don’t know what else 😂

I love it when people say that...The show lasted 4 years after Ted McGinley entered the picture....pretty long for a show that was over.
@@lakebay972 No it wasn't. After Ron Howard left, the show started focusing on Joannie, and was still very good, and went on for another 4 years. Ron Howard was part of the show, but he wasn't THE SHOW. The Fonz was the show. That's why they promoted him to the top of the show, just behind Ron Howard, in season 3. If it was only Ron Howard they would have cancelled it in season 2.
I don’t think I’ve ever seen so much as a single episode of this show, but I love the opening so much I can’t stop watching it
Saw certain season of happy days can't help but love the theme song ❤ a group Pratt and McClane did their own version bill Haley and comets every theme had there own special meaning they were definitely happy days❤

People have always been nostalgic for the past, always longing for the good old days. In the 1970s and 80s, that time was the 1950s and early 60s. Today in 2024 that time is the 1970s, 80s, 90s, even early 2000s.
The Season 2 intro is from syndication -- the original network version used Rock Around the Clock, like Season 1.
Probably home video as well since there was music licensing to resolve as well.
Same with the season 2 box set. Paramount felt the first season box didn’t sell enough to justify the hefty licensing fees for “Rock around the Clock” on the season 2 set, so they replaced it with the “Happy Days” theme (which actually became the opening theme in S3)
Once Ron Howard left it was over. Nothing against Winkler, but most of us tuned in to see the pair of richie and the fonz, not the fonz by himself. It was like with Sanford and Son, when Lamont left the show and it became just Sanford, it was a flop. We want the pair.
Ron Howard, Henry Winkler, Tom Bodley, Pat Morita, Scott Baio and Ted McGinley got more success after their time on Happy Days. But Howard and Winkler are the bigger names nowadays though.
HAPPY DAYS is a great family show 😊

It looks brand new! Better than a show from the ‘90s, even! Paramount has gone above and beyond as far as restoration goes. It’s too bad they changed the theme and background music starting with season 2 due to royalties. The picture and sound are great, though!

There was a scene from season 1 or 2 opening credits where Richie and Potsie are wearing ski masks and roller skates in the school hallway and they go down the hall and rip off a teacher's toupee. It was only on the opening credits several times, but hilarious nonetheless.
The first intro for me is the best always 😉👍🏻
Just finished reading that Henry Winkler was scared of motorcycles. If you noticed in the first season he’s never riding the motorcycle. It was a Harley and much heavier than the later two bikes used in the show the remaining season. The later two bikes were Triumphs and lighter so Winkler could handle the bike much better and was more at ease with it and so they had scenes where he was riding it. That’s your trivia for the day.
When Happy Days debuted, the 1950’s were less than 20 years ago.
I only watched the first couple years when there was no studio audience. After that,forget it.

The upscaling makes it look like you took acid before watching this.
Season 2 still had "Rock Around the Clock" for it's opening theme. The version is taken from the DVD set that replaced it with Happy Days, probably due to rights.
I stopped watching Happy Days around the time Ron Howard left the show. I always saw the show as about Richie Cunningham, not about “the Fonz” ( who changed in his persona big time at that period also).
Rock around the clock was good for the beginning of the show but I mostly preferred the song that was used in the second to the tenth season the one in the eleventh season I didn’t care for that much.

The later seasons Henry Winkler looked way too old to play the Fonz, even if we accept he was 19 or 20 in season 1 and he's 29 or 30 now at the end. He still looked like his real life age, late 30s.

Season 1 theme song was ok. Season 2, though 10 theme songs, were phenomenal. Season 11, even though it was the last season, is god-awful and butchered
