Great video, great work..... always a joy to watch your stuff. Looking forward to the summer on your garden project cuz I need to do mine. The good thing in your video is the slow in speech and the perfect video operation to give us exactly what to do in case we need adjustment of blade. Million thanks to you sir.

This has been an education for me, I thought I knew all there was to know about compound mitre saws having used them for years but having watched your video I have found discrepancies in the saw I have been using for a long time - thanks.
As always, great content. These little tips take DIY tasks to the next level. Instead of accepting 'out of the box' accuracy, a little effort can establish a professional finish.
Hi Stuart Yet again mate you explain everything that’s makes the job look easy and straightforward This is the first thing I do when I buy a new mitre saw I have two Milwaukee saws at the moment they cut perfectly, set up the same way as you have shown passed on to me from my Dad even down to the tape bit Great content mate thanks 👍👍👍👍
Thank you. I followed your methods for measuring the accuracy and went from very bad to pretty good in an hours worth of tinkering. Not every saw is as easy to adjust as yours. I also found the best way to gauge the result was by looking at cuts in timber and reversing them like you said.
I make wooden puzzles and need to cut very small wooden blocks (2-4cm in length) with significant accuracy. Having used a low power mini table saw for a long time, I think it is time to invest in a mitre saw.
Excellent instructions, and great video help on setting up your Mitre Saw for people like me who prefer hands on instructions like this video, to actual reading instructions thank you. Stay Safe, Barry (Wirral)
Brilliant video. I bought an Evolution when I started my garden gym build project during lockdown. I knew it was slightly off (it’s the model with the red laser which made it more obvious) but I never got round to learning how to correct it. For cutting joists/studs/rafters the discrepancy didn’t really matter obviously but now I’m starting to do more finessed woodwork projects I do need to get it sorted. I’m off to the garage now to try your tips!
You’ve inspired me to setup my old B&Q saw which I have hammered over the years. Was thinking about upgrading it but a bit of TLC and a good setup might be just as good. Might invest in a blade with more teeth as only tend to work with softwoods and the finish can suffer. A video showing how to extend the fence, add stop blocks make a zero clearance fence and bed surface would be good. I found that improved the tearing out I was getting although a better blade would also help reduce that. Keep up the great content!
Great video. Might be worth a follow up with how to mount it. I bought a folding mitre saw stand from Aldi (cheap) which is a great addition particularly for longer lengths of wood.
great set of tips for checking accuracy. I've been wanting to upgrade my aging chop saw to a sliding one so I could do trench cuts - worth keeping in mind for anyone buying their first saw.

I know my mitre saw is out but I didn't really know how to correct it properly so it was hit and miss and is still not right. This will help enormously, thanks. Keep up the good work.
Absolutely essential thing with mitre saw: check everything before turn it on first time, especially budget level from Evolution down. Bought 305mm Evolution, couldn't assemble, realised drawings didn't match what I was seeing, called support, told to return immediately - faulty manufacture at factory but at least it stopped me even being able to switch on. 305mm Erbauer was ready to go. Looked to check blade alignment and realised it was off square in the channel - barely half millimetre from catching edge of metal. Called support. Told to return it immediately, think they pulled the product for a time. Many people love Evolution quality control is very patchy. I've seen folk happy with budget tools but they hadn't noticed the very dangerous flaw. Mitre saws are potentially extremely dangerous so be very diligent in set up before switching on. If possible, get checked by someone who knows what to look out for, then enjoy their brilliance. But not next buy after drill. Basic circular saw good for most things - especially with jigs described all over RUclips. Some, like one of my Makitas, even have adapters to work on track.

The evolution rage saws are good for the DIYer in my opinion. You can cut wood and metal on the same saw, with the same blade.
