The factor that this decision doesn’t consider is that violent dangerous people are often arrested for minor or lesser crimes. This decision will mandate the release of everyone arrested for misdemeanor crimes, even if the individual is recognized as a potential ticking time bomb. This will then place those dangerous people back on the streets to find new victims and possibly elevate their crimes to more serious and violent levels. I can tell you that most criminals arrested for serious violent crimes started out small and worked their way up the ladder of criminal wrongdoing.

What happens if the judge says you can be released from jail with no bond, however most remain in your home and be on a monitoring system. Should you know follow rules regarding data monitoring system you will be placed in jail until your trial. Based on the small amount of information that I have, the perpetrator the defendant Will have to pay for the ankle bracelet and the monitoring system. You could get out of jail in some instances for a few hundred dollars, now it could cost a couple thousand and it takes days if not a week to set the system up for monitoring. Elections matter, this is what you wanted, this is what you voted for.

It's all good. It's irreversible short term but the Dems will keep it up and suffer the results long enough to provide enough cover for wise conservatives to sell out and split for saner locals. I for one am grateful for that. I was talking to a farmer I know in Lee county - he said "its hard to take the farm with you". True, but everything can go on the auction block in a matter of weeks and one can be free from the madness. Take the money and run and go somewhere that has cash bail, etc.

The net result of the cash bail system is literally two forms of justice - one for the poor who must immediately begin serving their sentence merely because they were arrested and without any actual evidence of guilty, and another for the wealthy, whom do not need to begin serving time until actually found guilty of a committing a crime beyond a reasonable doubt. Nothing better epitomizes the class system in America than this basic inequality - the poor can be (and are) jailed merely on a policeman's say so. The wealthy and (in some, but not all) cases the middle class, are not jailed until they are proven guilty. How, exactly, is that fair?

There might be a reason that some people don't have access to friends or family or even an employer who needs their mobility in the free world ! That reason just might be they've burned all the bridges, Or never had a job or if they did, they were a lousy employee!
Glad no cash bail is beginning. Some are in an uproar but there are systems in place to keep some behind bars until trial - that would be the role of the judges to actually do their jobs. It will be a huge cost-saving measure with the elimination of bond hearings, cost of incarceration until trial, etc. It should speed up the ability of courts to try cases faster.
