      Yes and all from the Democrats that mistakenly believe that will work, it will happen, and they will install a new style of government where they are in total control of everyone in the end, and everyone will be a subservient bitch. Apparently to be a Democrat, taking history is an elective.

    When these criminals are released without cash bail, those who passed this law and the dumb governor who signed it into law, should be forced to compensate every family these criminals hurt after their release. Get out of jail free is stupid as can be!

    The media is so uneducated - it makes the world such a dangerous place - so this lady has a $250,000 bond for assaulting her mother-in-law so badly she had to be hospitalized? So that’s ok? Putting someone in the hospital? Ridiculous.

    So let me get this straight, if anyone commits ANY crime in this state from now on they get to go free on no bail until proven guilty in court?

    • @BIPDSHAWAII
      @BIPDSHAWAII Год назад +10

      No, a judge can absolutely keep a suspect in jail for pre trial detention if they pose a risk to other people. The decision will always be the judge's but it will be based on the crime. If they don't pose a risk to anyone ,only them will they be allowed to wait for their trial at home. (Most cases never go to trial.)

    • @mirandaf1166
      @mirandaf1166 Год назад +1

      They said in the video it depends on the crime its up to the judge. or if the commit forcible felonies like murder battery burglary etc that is easy to prove or is a flight risk or poses a threat to public safety.

    • @Honeybeerose88
      @Honeybeerose88 Год назад +1

      It’s depends on the crime. Someone in jail for a low level misdemeanor that can’t afford bail in a backed up court system and overcrowded prison will be released while those accused of murder, sexual assault and violent crime would most certainly be detained. But there is no reason our tax dollars should pay to house and feed someone accused of say bouncing a check or petty theft. I do think they should make a provision where people constantly accused of the saw low level crime repeatedly after being released for it should be held as well though. Someone who is a constant reoffender should be jailed until trial and or sentencing because they clearly haven’t learned. But someone sitting in jail over a bench warrant for missing court over a minor traffic violation is just us paying for them to stay there for no reason.

    In states that have eliminated cash bail, what happens when defendants don't show up for their court dates? At that point the defendants have likely broken the law twice for one incident. If the judges issue failure to appear warrants, who is going to be tasked with executing the new influx of warrants? Please don't say over-burdened police officers or deputies. They often can't handle the volume of court service now. The whole point of the bail system is that people who do not obey laws in most cases don't follow through on negative obligations. The cash bail system keeps them accountable.

    • @rhondawells401
      @rhondawells401 Год назад +2

      Just an FYI- statistically speaking OK has a higher crime rate than IL. OK has more property crime in Tulsa alone while Chicago has more violent crime than Tulsa, but both are over the US average. And even when it comes to violent crime, Tulsa’s average is just a tad lower, like 1-2 points than Chicago’s….I say that to say this setting a bail does not guarantee that criminals stay behind bars, it guarantees those who cannot afford bail sits in jail. We need to come off the notion that people are guilty until proven innocent and that poverty is a crime

    Seems like the issue should be not locking people up with out any evidence what so ever of a crime being committed by that person. If someone is going around shooting people, robbing people, car jacking people and there is witnesses as well as video evidence, and they have the weapon or stolen property on them when the police catch them (that is evidence) that person should be locked behind bars as they wait for their trial as they have proven themselves to be a danger to others. Accusations against someone with out any evidence what so ever there is no reason to put the person you accused behind bars especially before they have their fair trial. Example: "So and So stole my car" But you never seen anyone take your car it is just missing anyone could of stolen it, and you do not have any security video. Police did not find your car in either their possession but you still want to press charges of theft because you spotted them a few days ago hanging out with each other around the "outside" of your garage on private property, but you never even had signs posted about the outside area of the garage being private property.

    • @chuckster243
      @chuckster243 Год назад

      You are pretty naive, not sure just what world you live in, but there's this thing called "justifiable cause" that will be met before someone is even approached regarding crimes. Police don't just pull someones name out of a hat, and as far as "so and so stole my car" well, the me too society has been doing a wonderful job trashing men with just that from women claiming wrong doing with no physical evidence whatsoever, so, welcome to the poetic justice of your own design.

    • @soulsurfer7702
      @soulsurfer7702 Год назад

      Some DAs won’t prosecute eventhough there is clear video evidence of them stealing. Also the issue of how long it takes for some crimes to go to court could take up to 3 years it’s not the next day in many instances would you want to risk a person who may or may not have committed a crime being free for that long.

    Cashless bail because the criminals can’t afford to put the money up for bail? Well an easier solution would be fr them to not break the law and they wouldn’t need bail. Are the Illinois lawmakers really that stupid??? APPARENTLY SO!!!!!!

  • @nq6508

    They need to learn how to prosecute criminals when they have a history of stealing. It is also messed up to lock someone up for up to 4 years if they can't afford bail. Lock them up after a conviction.
