I'm not a climber, but sometimes climbing videos will pop up in my feed and I'll watch them for fun. Hearing his advice made me think for the first time, "Huh, maybe I should give climbing a try."
I think I enjoy these videos much more than you enjoy creating them! Always looking forward to the next episode with so much glee! Y’all always put out beautifully shot and edited content, you’re far and away one of the best channels on RUclips! You have no idea how much the community appreciates all your teams work, especially in a time when most gyms and crags are closed... you’re keeping us sane Adam!!!
I just gotta comment and say this is probably one of my most favorite climbing vids in like 10 years of watching them. So tickled at the end when Adam is coaching Ondra through the route XD
Well after 4 months away from climbing coz of lockdown, I feel that we all need this :) And even if you were climbing....it's Adam, so you definitely need this!
God it was so frustrating to watch Adam teach Adam how to climb. I mean it’s almost like Adam had to go step by step telling Adam what to do, even after already telling Adam everything he has to keep in mind! Anyways, thank goodness Adam was so patient when dealing with someone as inept and untalented as adam
Not everyone is born with talent, with hard work he will get bettet than even the most talented people and when you are in hard stressful situation it is hard to recall all 11 tips and use it efficiently in an instant. Be more tolerant with adam and others
I loved this new concept. You are always changing and that makes it so dynamic (Like your climbing). Thank you for these videos. Always a great way to relax on a Monday.
Thank you so much for this video, both of you ! The facial expressions and the acting of Ondra are H I L A R I O U S 🤣! Adam did a great job as teacher, too. Ondra climbed so well in his first session 😉!
Hey, I love your videos and was wondering if you could make one on what you do for physical and mental warmup before climbing. I don't think you take suggestions for videos but thought i'd ask.
2 years ito cimbing and following you Adam! i always enjoy to see you give tips and advices in tour videos! can't wait to see some "advanced" climbing tips!:)
Thanks you for the video: for unskilled climbers like me (I practice less then one year) Is Always good to see and hear somebody that explain the rules 💣💣💣
I know some climbers with 1% of his skill who wouldn't go on a top rope to save their lives. It's actually refreshing to see one of the world's best climbers not take himself too seriously.
Really impressive video! Well done Adam and your whole team! You explain things so well, and so clearly. Also, I love the message you always put at the beginning. My favourite tips were 4, 7 and 9. Děkuji! :)
1. FOOTWORK FIRST - comfortable, tight shoes - not too downturned. - opt for vert to slabs to focus on using your feet instead of arms. 2. USE YOUR TOES - step onto holds mostly using your toes, feeling the hold through the toes. - ankles in active position (not too bent but engaged). - the climbing shoes are designed for the toes to be use. 3. PLACE YOUR FEET PRECISELY - when you place a foot, place it right on the hold. no sliding foot down onto hold! - always place your feet in a way that uses minimal effort with your arms. 4. KEEP YOUR HIPS CLOSE TO THE WALL - keep your centre of gravity close to the wall i.e. keep hips close to the wall! 5. DON’T RUSH! - on easy routes where you’re on your feet a lot (vert/slab), climb slower and try do make your movement as precisely as you can. - don’t rush and pull with your arms! 6. TAKE A REST - in some positions, you just need to trust your feet and can let go of holds to rest your arms! - shaking your arms definitely helps to reduce lactic acid in the forearms. - when it’s possible, take a rest. 7. USE YOUR EYES - use your eyes to analyse the space and pick the best looking hold, instead of touching and searching with your hands on the rock and spending a lot of time doing so. The same applies to placing your feet. 8. DON’T BEND OR EXTEND YOUR ARMS TOO MUCH - when climbing, try to keep your arms at a natural angle. - don’t leave arms completely straight or completely bent. 9. DON’T REACH TOO FAR - when in a position when there’s no holds near you, don’t try to reach too far. You might find a hold, but then moving yourself up from there will be really powerful and waste energy. - instead, move your feet up first, as this will give you a much better view of holds and will be a lot more efficient. 10. TURN SIDEWAYS IF NEEDED - it’s not always best to be completely facing the wall with your body. - sideways hold often require you to turn your body sideways to use them best. 11. FOLLOW THE LANGUAGE OF CHALK - chalk moderately but do use it! - nobody wants to use greasy holds, so keep your skin dry! - look for chalk marks to see which holds previous climbers have used.
I have to say climbing is great, I did it for a while in high school stopped and then went climbing on a date haven't stopped since, its great advice for new climbers and hopefully the community will continue to grow fast. Also between Adam and Mangus as well as Geek Climber I'm finding myself pushing my limits, looking back from my first 5.12 I see the Irony in Don't reach for the holds...
I feel like getting a foot and letting your ankle sag, can be better for beginners because it let's you rely more on friction. Since beginner climbers havnt felt friction it's a good idea to help your feet relax.
This Ondra guy has some potential, he should try climbing competitions. Maybe Adam can coach him.
yea something tells me he would be pretty good.
This is getting out of hand. Now there are two of them!
you will be delighted to hear, we are on schedule.
200.000 units are ready, with a million more well on the way
Don’t worry... my apprentice Stephano Ghisolfi will handle them...
With the third batch they are going to be yellow and shaped like a pill.
Imagine climbing minions 😂
Always two there are, a master and an apprentice
The prequel memes in this thread have me dying.
Me: 6 years into climbing

You never stop learning
4.5 yrs also *clicks
@Max Masteller Yeah, tip #4bis - put your foot behind your back and take your hands off the wall

just in time :O
That Ondra guy looks like he has some good neck genetics for this
This is hilarious 😂 he is only getting more creative and comfortable being himself - but now we have to just decide which Adam Ondra is better LOL
The one who eats chalck (I LOLed hard on ths). Of course he is the one.
For those who don't know, the name "Ondra" is the czech version of "Andrew"
Wow Mind blowing
He shall now be known as Adam Andrew!
Not Andrew, but something like "Andy"
Ondrej not Ondra
you guys did such a good job. it was so funny to see Ondra putting all his mind into climbing like a beginner. thanks for the tips, Adam :)
Ondra is a noob. I'm here for Adams advice.
Ondra meets Adam... Scenario is just perfect 😁
In Czech sounds even better, cos Ondra is also first name here, it is a familiar way to call Andrew, means something like "Andy".
@@wolftree9668 Thanks for the explain 😉
automatic subtitles- Andhra :D
This is just infinite meme potential.

This is the most cute climbing tutorial ever ! Thanks to Adam and Ondra ;)
It's not named explicitly in the video, but I finally learned what an auto-belay is.
Magnus cant live without chalk. Adam eats it. Damn these climbers have a serious chalk problem :D
No, it was actually Ondra who ate the chalk. Don't confuse them, they look similar.

Amazing video as usual!!
I can't find a partner right now to climb. Apparently I need to clone myself somehow. Nice tip Adam! :D
Adam: Shoes have to be comfortabel.

Comfortabel lmao 😂

I love the dynamic between Adam and Ondra. I hope they collab on more videos together
The way he says comfortable makes me smile every time
Stunning idea Adam! And really very funny to see 😃 you’re a simply graet teacher 👨🏫 and nice job camera/film making side!
Would be nice if they could do a collaboration with the guy from the rope production video.
As a brand new climber this is so valuable.
It's nice to see that you're starting to actually enjoy it a lot! We feel it, and it's fun watching it!

Great video Adam and Ondra! It's always nice having videos like this to show friends who are learning.
That eating of chalk and shaking of the forearms killed me :-DDD
Haha so hilarious! Ondra really made some progress with your tips, Adam. These are all the things I've been telling my beginner friend.
haha seeing adam on top rope is hilarious

Adam wasn't on top rope it was ondra, did you even watch the video?
wow that Ondra guy seems strangely familiar
watch this and then silence or change, the insane contrast is too good (:

That was awesome, please keep teach climbilmg for beginners, thanks adam and ondra 😄
Parádní video. A nápad s Adamem a Ondrou😄😄👌👌👌
One thing I would add from watching all my friends that started climbing was “dont rely on your biceps when climbing”.
That's literally the first tip:)
@@zagarna not really. Footwork is important but that does not stop inexperienced climbers from thinking every move is a pull-up.
Lots of fun the way it was presented and good useful information! Thanks!
Nothing like learning from the best. Great video!!
Adam Ondra has always some good ideas and he know how to inspire every climber ;)
I'll admit I wasn't going to watch this one after the intro mentioning it was for beginners. But the two Adams made me stay.
