Gets better connection over 8 miles then 90% of the UK’s normal internet haha
anyone else been subbed since the house break-in?
Nah some of us are way older like when he lived in first house

Yeah
as a former RF technician myself, you got extremely lucky. To properly align dishes you need azimuth tool and a man on each dish to adjust as required. But never the less good job
Alex does just live the dream life right.... been watching for 5 years! big fan
Same my dud

I remember the first videos he made about his wife stuff with his gear tacked onto the wall in the room with his computer
Don't believe everything you see.
If you are actually in the IT/Networking industry you will realise that this wee guy is clueless and his bubble will burst soon
How has no one realised.... he has a single point of failure?! His Dad's house....
Not to mention that there appears to be no resiliency built into the Core, which appears to be built into a loft space susceptible to overheating.
Don’t worry, he has a 40minute UPS 😉
Pleased to see the entrepreneurship though, as long as his customers are aware of the limitations and risks of the design, and the appropriate sign-off granted for providing the service.
I wish him luck.
LOL real world relevance is pointless. His customers probably have way better UpTime than the Billion Dollar ISP that i'm using. As long he delivers a proven long term good uptime I don't really care for redundancy with ISP.
@@Neojhun his uptime relies on another ISP though…

Hey Alex, it is all well and good getting a fast signal at the top of the hill, but how are you going to get that fast signal down into the village at the bottom of the hill? we need a part two to this project please.
Genuinely put a side time in my day so I can properly watch your videos. I’ve learnt so much from you. Thanks man!
Alex, you’re using the devices at a transmission power way above legal limits in the UK. Both antenna gain and transmitter power totalled together should not exceed 36dBm... and that’s in the licensed 5.8ghz band.
If you’re not careful this will cause you a great deal of pain with OfCom!
Read up on IR2007 and FWA Band B and C.
Moreover, your output is 50watts and the UK limit is 4watts! 🤯
This sound really interesting! I am looking forward to Alex's response :D
Where are you seeing the output power out of curiosity ?

I mean.. Who cares
what I find funny is we are still waiting to hear who has won the last couple of competitions you done.... is anyone ever going to win them? or do you just like getting peoples hopes up?
5.6 km isn't 8 miles
Was thinking exactly the same!
Love your videos
i get these good vibes from this video
Love the energy this guy has !! So nice !! good work !
if you see a cuban take a regular wifi and router, put the router on the roof, brake de wifi, remove internal antena an put external home made yagi, and take 2km conection it incrdible, good job and nice editing
I am a technician at a local ISP in Indonesia
I also use that device but on 20 miles away lol 😅👍
I was thinking about this.
I'm wondering if you can buy an old news channel van with those antennas that extends so high and repurpose it to a wifi extender?
I know they're made for radio/micro waves, but I think you can connect or convert your wifi router to that antenna system to get miles from it?
loving thr vlogs homie
Could you get a licence to install a powered repeater station to relay the signal between your home where the core network is, to a station in a field then to relay across to the neighbouring town and villages?. This would help your business a heck of a lot.
Great work
Stay safe :-)
Very cool to see what you are doing with Ubiquiti equipment! Over here in the US the LTE carriers are hopping on with 4G and 5G modems for rural areas and its booming. Then of course Starlink is coming online as well.
Hey Alex, love your work Mann!! Starting to do the same in a small town in SA🇿🇦 will definitely be taking your tips on making it work🔥
He says 7 miles and the title says 10 the description says 8 wtf
still with your statement he is getting point across. even at 7 miles is an accomplishment.
keep up all the great work on all your videos across all your channels
Buzzing for you. I love this this sort of thing, getting signal from point a to point b and it working is exciting.
When your cable between the laptop and the dish is the bottleneck, your network is officially insane
Can you tell more about the socket you installed on the defender
Hey Alex, did you ever make a video on how you setup yor WISP and how it all works together. I'm just looking back at one of your videos (I could swear someone keeps stealing my stuff..) back in 2018.
Surprisingly, despite the bold claim of "10 miles" in the title, the reality fell short at just 5 kilometers.
Very impressive Alex. I've got a challenge for you!!
Hi my name is Nate I have been watching you since you moved house back in 2015 and I still love your awesome content to this day I love waking up every morning and seeing your work have Anny were wallpaper on my phone Inspiring me to get creative I love watching all you content on marz bar marz bar vlogs & techflow you will always inspired me and my friends to work hard and never give up I would love to have some personal advise on how I can grow on RUclips and I would love to have a small usb led to go behind my monitor to light up my room this is not me begging but it would be awesome if you could help
Hey Alex, absolutely brilliant video....I love all of your videos as I have been following you for many years now! We need to see more of your videos as I find them extremely interesting 😊👍
mee too since the krk speaker mod
You should do a video about Starlink
You did it!!! Thank you for sharing this
Good job. Looks you having fun.
Yet carrier's in the state can barely get 5G over 1 Mile is the sad part
Please do you need apprentice :) ? I really love this and I will like to learn it. Do you have tutorials or guidelines to follow?
I miss 2016
This is insane. But it is rare scenario with clear line of sight.
Amazing video!! Buzzing that the Internet worked for you x
i always hit like before even watch your video :3
a light beam gen 2 can go 20km a power bean can go 30km , and a lighy beam gen 2 LR can go also 30km
What equipment are you using?
I have been sending a 5 GHz 45 mbps signal 10.2 miles at work for almost 4 years now.
So, we have an office space that is 1.5 miles from our home, but it only has OLD DSL (
I also run an ISP in Europe.. Waaaaaaaaaaaaay bigger then this guy. Like 10K+ customers. But back to your problem, It will depend on tree coverage for antenna coverage, fiber optic cable is super cheap if you have some tractor there on the farm, build a subsoiler with a cable shoot, 40-50cm (Our machinery achieves 110-130cm direct buried cable.) You can look at a pipe layer, that will do the same job... Lay a cable deep, job done. If there are trees, the signal will vary depending on the time of year (Leaf cover). This guy is a joke.
I recommend you buy 2.4ghz powerbeam but buy the ac version for higher speed
Anyone recommend an option to send about a mile no line of sight. I have fibre my friend doesn't so very poor speeds. Would be good to send it to him even if we coukd get say 50mbps at his end would be enough.
Keep up the good work Alex
love watching your vlogs ❤️
MarzBar+Squarespace= Awesome 😎
Love your networking vid
Yo hago mis pruebas con MQS y powerbank, saludos desde Colombia.
Sorry, I still said out loud, "Are you f***ing kidding me," when you walked onto the roof.
I watched and subscribed but you don't give a link or name for the antenna's. Help please.
Just subscribed :) if you have some scrap equipments i would love those :)
Keep up the good work brother
Loves this video Alex!
I can’t even get good internet to my room ffs
I would love to take that dead gimbal from last video off your shelf brother 💞
Knowledge intertwined in comedy. Practical teacher.❤ Have you considered using laser for aligning?

safety equipment - chain around waist - that's gonna hurt and is not sufficient - wish he would buy a bloody harness for christ sake. You can afford all the tech equipment so just spent another £50 on some safety equipment.
you never did as far as I know cover the setup with virgin your isp and the reselling etc.
Doesn’t all that stuff in your new build garage get damp and condensed as single skin?
What software do you need to calibrate the antennas ? .. Greetings I live in a rural sector in Chile
It's not over 10 miles. You can clearly see on 8:35 it is 6,6km, so it's like 4 miles?
You need a harris 🤣🤣
I’ve been subbed since 2016 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
hey maz!!hw are you man? this model of antennas is awesome! I use in my ptp links in brazil and they rock it the signal!!!! Ubiquiti create a monster !!! excellent video !! success and keep safe!!! my record with this model is 13.1km signal -64dbm and 123mb down 90mb up in metropolitan area with LOS.
Fantastic video, can i ask how your able to do this, i mean how do you get permition to make a remote base station as you said you intend to transmit from the hill onwards to the next location?
Also could you do a video on a rebro, (thats what we called it in the brit army) so i take it you use 2 directional antennas but you showed the 1 plugged into your laptop, what would you use for the base station set up?
2 directional ants, a router??? (what type, can you use a typical router and weather seal it), how to power it?
Thanks and great video
Do you sell world wide or just where you are
I like the system that you created it's very cool 👍
Mr. Williams
Love the video!!
You need to come up to where I am in southern Scotland and teach my ISP how to do this properly!?!
I have wireless point to point internet however constant issues as my ISP is an absolute joke!!
hi please how can i make this setup and sell internet through wifi
me thinking the same here
Do you want to setup in Pakistan
When or if will you go back to the daily vlogs
I remember being 14 and learning English on you and enjoing the content

I wonder where I would get with a half-wave Yagi at around 5750MHz (5cm; WiFi annexes A, N, AC and AX). I'll let you know.

Did you ever find out who owned the mast you were looking at using to boost your PtP ISP service through?
Have you tested this between to houses in a built up area I'm not far from you but i want to send gbit internet to another house that has like 30mbit diagonally the line would hit about 25 houses along the way on google maps. but one house is on a lower elevation than the other so from the higher point i may just be able to point it diagonally and sort of aim the dish from the other property.
You can just buy powerbeam gen2 5ghz they are very strong and build to pick the signal in worst scenarios
@@mataralmuhairi2402 so you think that would work with brick houses in the path I cannot see the other house
It will work and if you want better option buy the 2.4ghz version
I live in Winschoten if i go to the blauwe stad i want wifi. Its about 400 meters maybe. There are trees and some houses
You are that type of guy who get punched for just your look and the way you talk in my country .
🤣🤣🤣🤣
😂😂😂
lol when he has better wifi than you in his car 😹😹
You get a better connection then me :(
What was the reason for the “cable” maxing out at 100. Or is there another limitation your referring to PÉ side?
What's the best way for alignments two points easily? Or what are the possible methods?
hi can you do a video on all your defender upgrades please
Why was your cable maxing out at 100mbps? Sounds fishy to me. The CPE radio has a gig interface as is your usb Ethernet dongle!
Also interested as to why, fibre may need cleaning
Probably a crappy RJ45 connection happens all the time
@@georgeb7641 Dirty fibre doesn't slow things down, you just get packet loss or no negotiation. Packet loss may show as a slowdown, but not on a speed test as too many packets were being lost. Fibre also can't auto neg to a lower speed.
@@liamcook6271 i highly doubt it, especially not over a device which needed 24V Passive PoE, due to the pairs it uses.
@@stevejones8392 if the CAT 6 (fibre cable) from the dish to his laptop is dirty yes it will slow things down 👍
Brilliant!!!👍🏾❤️✨
I have this same equipment hooked up to starlink aimed at my shop. its too cold to check it out now . my signal was blocked by a camptrailer then moved to inline sight . Im thinking I will have to take my PC back down to wireless unit and reconnect? I will know more in the spring.
😂😂 that chain will do a lot of damage if you fall probably brake ur back and ribs. Wen where up scaffolding we have harnesses.
Likewise for telecoms contractors they will be harnessed in as well haha
Do the radios serve as WAPs also to wireless devices?
It says 6.6km air lenght, thats like 4mi
