    I have a lelit victoria and was wondering if the Elizabeth is the same machine but with double boilers. Looking to upgrade maybe to Mara x or Elizabeth. Or keep the Victoria and be patient for froting my milk. Do you prefer the Marax or the Elizabeth. Thank you

      @DaveCorbey  4 года назад +2

      I have not reviewed a Victoria but looking at the specification the brew side is similar. However there are probably some key differences in software, hardware and capability. If you read my extensive written review and links to the LCC and maintenance guides you will see where it's different. Then join us on the forum for a more detailed discussion. Links in the video descriptions.

    Dave, after the 3 second low pressure shot. How long do you recommend that I rest before infusing 9 bars?

    • @DaveCorbey
      @DaveCorbey  Год назад

      It depends, if it's just a passive bloom, you can wait from 8 to 12 seconds...if it's a steam preinfusion, probably between 5-7 sec.

    Question for you - can you do pre-infusion with a manual shot? Or can you only do pre-infusion with a fully pre-programmed (infusion+brew) shot?

    • @DaveCorbey
      @DaveCorbey  Год назад

      I'm not sure I understand? I haven't used my Elizabeth for over a year, it's been sitting in my collection. From memory, you can stop the shot any time, there isn't a manual option as such, just the ability to stop when you want by pressing the same button again.

    Have there been any major updates since your review of the July 2020 model?? Any new features in the LCC? Do you know if the low flow and other features on the Bianca V3 could be ported over to the Elizabeth LCC?

      No, I think it was modded to my request and is about as good as it can be.

    I was excited getting this machine, when it arrived, the water tank had a leak so I got a replacement and after finally using it, I see red particles from the water spout, I flushed it at least 10 times and still red particles. Sending it back but not sure if I should get another one now :/
    Not sure if shipping messed up something or Lelit QC is bad…water with red specks in your cup for 1200€ is a pretty bad

    Hi Dave, I'm researching to purchase my first espresso machine for home to mainly prepare steamed milk drinks for my wife and myself - mainly lattes and cappuccinos. Due to upper cabinets above my counter, I am limited to how deep a machine can be if I want to easily access/remove the water reservoir for many that have it in top loading in the rear. Naturally the Lelit Elizabeth intrigues me. I've been comparing the Elizabeth (as well as the Victoria and Glenda models) to other brands (Bezzera Hobby, ECM Casa v, Quick Mill Silvano, and some HX machines in the same price range as the Elizabeth). How does the Lelit build quality/craftsmanship compare to other well-known brands? Is the head group covering polished metal or chrome covered plastic? Thanks!

    • @DaveCorbey
      @DaveCorbey  2 года назад +1

      It's all metal, only plastic is the steam knob....nice build quality, but more important, a super clever and quiet machine. coffeeequipmentreviews.wordpress.com/2020/05/08/lelit-elizabeth/

    Hi Dave, do you change the brew time when you make a longer pre-infusion?

    • @DaveCorbey
      @DaveCorbey  3 года назад +1

      Yes, U usually add the preinfusion on to the standard brew time, or most of it.

  • @ericrandall3539
    @ericrandall3539 2 года назад

    Regarding the Victoria vs the Elizabeth:
    1) Can the Vitoria be made to count UP instead of down for the timer?
    2) Can the pre-infusion time be adjusted on the Victoria as well?
    I have not discovered how to do either of those things. Thanks!

    Hello Dave, thanks for all your videos. Can I ask which scale you are using here? I’ve been wanting to get one with a similar form factor and aesthetics, but can’t seem to find it anywhere. Thanks!

      It's more passive, just the limited pressure from the brew boiler (which will be very low).

  • @chrisah1

    Can you dose with 18g? Or is there a basket for this you recommend to get higher doses?

    • @DaveCorbey
      @DaveCorbey  4 года назад +2

      You can put 18 in, I just found 17 as the sweet spot for the coffees I was using. I wouldn't get too hung up on weight because some coffees are denser than others which affects fill level and thus weight in the basket. It's a bigger subject than a RUclips comment can cover. It's more a forum discussion thing.
