Hey Melissa, I just discovered an awesome primer dupe! I had received a sample of the Smashbox photo ready primer, and I loved everything about it...until I went to order the full size. $50 Canadian! I almost had a heart attack. So I did a Google search on a dupe for it, and they recommended the Maybelline Babyskin primer. It is exactly the same. Silky smooth gel formula, instant blurring, makeup lasts all day.....for $9. What a find.

My favorite primer is LaRoche-Posay Anthelios daily anti-aging primer with sunscreen 50. I’m 62 have very oily skin minimal wrinkles and this primer smoothed out the texture and fills in the pores. It’s not drying so it can be used on dryer skin types too. I’ve tried so many primers and to me this is the best. Thank you for the video and have a fabulous week!
I enjoyed seeing your pup! I am not a fan of the NYX Marshmallow Primer, but I enjoyed trying it! In my area, I've seen it sold as a mini in Target and Walgreens. (I still can't get my hands on that Elf Halo Glow!) But, I love when companies make minis for us beauty lovers to try before committing to a full size product. Some might argue that it's more cost effective to buy full-size, but I always think, "But what if I don't like it?" or "Will I really use the whole thing?" Thanks for sharing your content, Melissa!
Perfect time for this video! I’ve had nothing but problems lately trying to get my Foundation to lay smooth and seamless on my skin I live Saskatchewan Canada it’s Winter here we’ve hit well below -20 Celsius already got multiple feet of Snow and my face is dry without tons of moisturizer, I put on my primer then foundation and I have a freaking hot mess of texture or pilling or both! You’re a mind reader that you did this video this is the time of yr my makeup goes to crap as far as base makeup goes because my skin doesn’t know what to do or what it wants.
Just a suggestion Melanie. Do your skincare with your extra moisturizer. Let it set a few minutes. Then pat it with a tissue or even rub your fingers across your jawline & see if it's going to ball up. If it does, your makeup will be too heavy looking. What I do in that instance is I take a soft dry micro fiber wash cloth & gently rub it all over my face to take up all the excess. Then I do primer. I know it sounds like a lot of extra steps, but it's really helped me.
I have been using supergoop unseen sunscreen for a primer. It works great and has spf 50! It reminds me of the smashbox primer. I also purchased the nyx one, but have yet to try it. Love u Mel! I hope your health is improving sweetie.
Awe, man. I tried so many primers. I need something that works. Years of smoking really ruined my skin. Blondes always look good in blue and red color. The blue really makes your eyes pop. U have gorgeous skin.
Since the drier weather has arrived my skin needs a more hydrating primer. I’ve been using the NYX Marshmallow primer. I also like Essence Prime Studio hydrating primer. It’s affordable and good but no one really talks about it. It contains coconut water and hyaluronic acid so it may be similar to the Milani primer that was reviewed.

I really enjoy the Milani one it goes on clear. I'm wanting to find a new one though that's not clear to help conceal my eyelids better, like veins. What I've tried has been to thick. I didn't like how my eyeshadow applied. Mayb I should try ABH!
I use Smashbox photo finish primer. It takes forever to get through one container. I bought one and then a friend gave me hers, as she had oily skin. So, that’s what I got hooked on! Love you ❤❤❤ you’re just the best

I don't use face primers, bc I use a rather thick but smooth tinted sunscreen as my one layer under foundation. But I'm wondering if you could do a video for eyelid primers? High end, drugstore, all kinds. No one would do it better!
Wondering what tinted sunscreen you use?? I feel like I've used everything, the true standbys my dermatologist told me to us Neutrogena and Cerave...I had horrible allergic reaction to repeatedly this summer. I'm using Supergoop presently not tinted, ive tried Saie but it feels tacky then greasy...soo expensive to try and try and not work, most affects my make up by making me look wayy greasy 😫 I'm 55 yr old...learning to adjust to skin changes in every way is hard...Thank You for sharing Tj
That's a hard one because the only one I've tried that I keep going back to is DRMTLGY Tinted spf. It feels a bit heavy at first but my skin is so dry it just sinks right in!! I'll link it if you're interested, but I know I'd feel bad if you've tried something & end up not liking ut. Especially since you've tried so many. @@Tj-TrustJESUS Try Australian Gold SPF 50 (Ulta or online). I use the fair-to-light tint. Or Bliss brand Block Star SPF 30 (Target). One shade only for this one. Both of these are mineral-only. Both have fragrance which dissipates quickly, and neither one irritates my usually sensitive skin with moody rosacea patches. The Australian Gold has a thicker consistency but can be a little drying; I use it with a good moisturizer underneath, especially during cooler weather or Santa Ana winds. The Bliss Block Star has a semi-velvety finish. Both are very nice with just a little finishing powder or light dusting of mineral powder foundation over it, well buffed in. I'm 63, with all the high mileage signs you might expect plus weird texture on my rosacea patches. I live in Southern California, so smog and constant sunshine make SPF a daily absolute! Good luck!

The hard candy one you mentioned, WNW has a no silicone primer called the impossible primer, (pink comtainer)that fills pores and a great staying power for a great price.
Hi Melissa! This video is perfect timing for me. I have been needing a good primer and love that the drugstore brands offer them now. I received a sample of the Tatcha luminous silk and it is amazing but prefer to not pay that price if their is something comparable at the drugstore.

Hi Melissa, As it turns out I am in the market for a primer. I have one that I am over the moon about, but there is nothing wrong with it. I will get one of the ones you mentioned. I love your Dachshund. I was raised with Dachshunds crying under my crib, when I cried. My husband and I got a Dachshund in 1998 and in 2012 he got out (he never did before) and took a walk, got lost and we never saw him again. It killed us. We searched for days everywhere. He was in perfect health. I still miss him. He was a pretty boy too. His name was Max. Kiss your baby for me. ❤

I have very large pores in the last years and i lately use just Maybelline Baby Skin Gel Pore Primer :) . Used to like the one from Swedish brand Gosh as well, others were too sheer and didn t fill any faults on my skin.

How did you know... I've been on the search for a primer that works!!!🤔 so many ppl recommend the Elf Putty Primer & I didn't like it until... I used your technique of pondering after primer, before foundation!!🎉🎉🎉 and then the Heavens opened 🙌🏻😉 I just wish I could afford to try, try, try... I'm thinking the Revlon looks like it checks ALL the boxes! But does it fill-in like the putty primers do? It actually was called ‘Pan cake ‘ or remember the Max Factor ‘Pan Stik’… came in a screw top and we used to slather it on? We all had cake faces and also used that dial mascara from Max Factor also…. They were a MUST…… follow up with blue frosty shadow all over the lid….time to go cruisin’ baby….. 😂😂😂🏎🏎🏎❤💋
I had a standard dachshund. We adopted him the day after he turned one and he passed away right before his 15th birthday. He was our baby boy and we loved him very much and still miss him. He looked almost like your cutie.

I bought a mini of the Nyx marshmallow primer but I still prefer your old favorite, the angel veil. It covers my acne scars really well.

Hallo, Thank you! I have several of those. My current two I am loving is from Caliray and Unicorn one from Radial. For my nose is Mac matte primer and under my eyes is by Smashmouth undereye moisturizing primer.

I've always owned dachshunds my entire life! I lost my last one two years ago, after 16 years. Miss her like crazy! I now have a Yoranian, and a Schaunzer/Poodle mix. Both rescues.

Primers are the Bomb for me. My fav is Merle Norman’s. It has moisturizer and SPF. That plus a little loose Bare Minerals powder is enough.

Mature skin, normal to dry , textured from old acne, hyperpigmentation & uneven tone. Hope that helps! Pricey, yet there are certainly less expensive great ones Melissa mentions. 😊

As it turns out I am in the market for a primer. I have one that I am over the moon about, but there is nothing wrong with it. I will get one of the ones you mentioned. I love your Dachshund. I was raised with Dachshunds crying under my crib, when I cried. My husband and I got a Dachshund in 1998 and in 2012 he got out (he never did before) and took a walk, got lost and we never saw him again. It killed us. We searched for days everywhere. He was in perfect health. I still miss him. He was a pretty boy too. His name was Max. Kiss your baby for me. ❤

Hi, Melissa! I guess I haven't found The primer for my skin. I just don't use it. I have tried the marshmallow primer and I think it works fine. It's just an extra step for me. I really like your editing today, it had me chuckling 💖
I have very large pores in the last years and i lately use just Maybelline Baby Skin Gel Pore Primer :) . Used to like the one from Swedish brand Gosh as well, others were too sheer and didn t fill any faults on my skin.

How did you know... I've been on the search for a primer that works!!!🤔 so many ppl recommend the Elf Putty Primer & I didn't like it until... I used your technique of pondering after primer, before foundation!!🎉🎉🎉 and then the Heavens opened 🙌🏻😉 I just wish I could afford to try, try, try... I'm thinking the Revlon looks like it checks ALL the boxes! But does it fill-in like the putty primers do? You look beautiful & happy as always.... 💟🙏🏻😊 I'm gonna tell the hubby I need an Ollie... with my disability, I think it would help me to have a sweet puppy like him!!🐶🤎☺️ be healthy & well Mrs. Melissa 💕💕💕💕💕💕
First Shannon, EVERYONE NEEDS AN OLLIE! lol. And yes the Revlon fills in the pores but it's so much lighter than the Putty products. Hope that helps

It actually was called ‘Pan cake ‘ or remember the Max Factor ‘Pan Stik’… came in a screw top and we used to slather it on? We all had cake faces and also used that dial mascara from Max Factor also…. They were a MUST…… follow up with blue frosty shadow all over the lid….time to go cruisin’ baby….. 😂😂😂🏎🏎🏎❤💋

I had a standard dachshund. We adopted him the day after he turned one and he passed away right before his 15th birthday. He was our baby boy and we loved him very much and still miss him. He looked almost like your cutie.
He's definitely a standard & not a mini. We have a mini too & she's totally built different
