It's because the cartridge connection must be dirty, causing the light to blink, the blinking light may be a result of the lockout chips not communicating very well...
Nowadays? It's the 2020's, kid..the only NES consoles out there today are the "mini-classic" ones..that I'm aware of, anyways..and besides that, the kit cleaner for the system back in the day was an easy fix. It doesn't take forever.
@@LuigiLaker Really? I have an original NES about 10 feet to my left right now. They made over 30 million of them, and they were well built, durable consoles, so a good few million survive, even if they might be a bit finicky. Casey Strange that’s the original NES Punch-Out cover back when it had Mike Tyson in it. When the licensing contract was up, they made a Mike Tyson-less cover screen.
@@ThomasTHEONEANDONLY No, that's not what the released version looked like. The one in the commercial was a prototype cover with Tyson looking like a sprite. The actual cover was a photo of Tyson mock punching an opponent...www.thegreenhead.com/imgs/signed-mike-tysons-punch-out-canvas-print-2.jpg
To me this commercial is interesting because 1. Sandman’s color palette is different 2. The arena color for Mike Tyson isn’t green 3. WHY THE FUCK DID MIKE LOSE TO KING HIPPO (that last one was a joke, I know he’s not that good at the game) So perhaps this was a build made just for this commercial or perhaps an early version of the game that was made in between Gold Ver. And MTPO
The reason why the colour palettes are different (probably) are because this is a prototype build and the box at the end of the commercial is different too
The version they used in this commercial is a beta/prototype. If you didn't notice Mr. Sandman, and Super Macho Man, and Tyson are in a purple ring (which is later used in the 1990 Mr. Dream version). The cartridge is also different.
Why didn’t they show him blowing into The game and the system and pushing down down on the cartridge and moving it left to right about a dozen times and then turning it on
Don't understand how nintendo mess that up and couldn't just stick with the nes version they just kept making punch out uninteresting same what they did with star fox they ruined that too
Great commercial, great game. I remember when this commercial was out and I remember my first fight with Glass Joe. I won by decision but Von Kaiser destroyed me
I like how Mike doesn't even know wtf he is doing.
You don't know that.
@@theshinyone9744
To quote Mike Tyson from when he was asked about playing his own game back in the day, "I couldn't even beat Glass f**king Joe"
updoot on this reply: he has, in fact, now beaten glass f**king joe
@@theshinyone9744I take you missed the sketch 25 years later when he actually played it.
Glass Joe didn't beat nick bruiser.
He beat Mike Tyson.
I love that they used someone else's laugh instead of Mike's. 😆
Seeing him insert the cartridge and turn on the NES immediately is so surreal. Nowadays it takes FOREVER to get the NES working!

@@LuigiLaker you can still get original nintendo consoles second hand tho
Just get a new 72-pin connector. It's easy to install.

This commercial would still rock in 2020. I’d definitely buy it .
Mike Tyson’s special ability is the ear biting technique.
Doc: “Watch out for his jaw Mac. This sucka got a crazy bite.”
In a new Punch-Out, he could be the WVBA champion, after beating Mr. Sandman. In Title Defense, he could train with Mr. Dream on the NES.
@@kivaHBRO_04i pray that if they finally make a new punch out game that they bring back mr tyson
Go through all the opponents just to try and defeat Mike Tyson on the 8-bit NES...
Good luck. Your gonna need it.
This shit blew my mind in 1987
mike tyson beating the boxers in-game: whee! so fun!
DEFINITELY remember when this hit!!!!spring of 87!!!💪🥊🥊🥊🥊

The cartridge does not look like that. I wonder who has that now.

@@jonathanturbide2232 Thanks man. Me and my friends are also working on a custom Punch Out game for the N64.

Fake dubbed Tyson laugh. 🤣
Did you know he wasn’t even champion yet when he got the deal for this game!?
The laughter is strange. Like I know how he laughs and it's no where near this sound
