Great to fall asleep. I love the app sounds and the video. Well done. Wish the other terraces was still there. This one is quite limited. And thanks for the detailed aircraft list! :)
Exactly, the former 25R-07L is now called 25C-07C. The new rwy is located northwest of the others, it is only used for landing and the biggest planes (A380, B747, MD11) are not allowed to land on it.
The A380s only have reverse thrust on the inboard motors, the outer ones hang over the runway at some airports and may throw up debris. Originally, Airbus didn't have any reverse thrust, the brakes alone can handle the load of the aircraft but they did it for less wear on the brakes.
some pilots are just quite (or overly) confident, because it seems they rotate continually without any fear the tail will strike the runway (see the a340 at 11:45 and the next plane). they are supposed to rotate to a specific degree, wait some (very few) seconds for a positive climb, and then rotate more. that's scary and awesome at the same time, because they really know what they're doing. confidency, intuition,...
I noticed that the 380's only used inboard reverse thrust. Are the outboard motors not equipped? It seems that such a leviathan would need reverse thrust, speed brakes, auto brakes, drogue shutes, tail hooks, and nets to stop!
15 minutes into this I finally realize this is a long video...great footage man

That wasn't smoke it was water. It had been raining. You can see standing water on the taxi ways in some of the shots.
It was the water on the runway I think!
Hehe... that is the brakes stopping the wheels from spinning when they retract the gear :)
Whats with all the perfect landings?
Apology APU sounds. My fav airport for heavies in GER
You know why the Vietnam Airlines 777 smoked so much from tires on landing?
what was that at 16:29 on the md 11
What camera do you use?
did u spend all day there.....i can and probably would....i do it in manchester at the viewing park....
But no other airliner had that smoke development right after touch... weird.
Why do you say Lufthansa is boring?
