This video provides an excellent description of how to work with difficult emotions. It's all about developing a conscious and compassionate relationship with the emotion itself. This creates the right inner conditions in which transformation and healing occurs.

Dear Phillip, Thanks for this wise teaching. After years of practice, I am beginning to be able to maintain my presence of Mind through difficult emotions. More & more I can stay in touch with my greater aspiration to practice peace, rather than becoming overwhelmed with powerful emotions like anger & frustration. I am able to avoid the magnification of difficulty due to righteousness, fear, & anger about my anger. The results are truly wonderful. Thanks for sharing your insights. ~Kevin

If you are interested in really spending time with yourself and starting to understand yourself and awareness in an intimate fashion I would recommend Gyobutsuji Zen Monastery :)

Wow, you can make a topic that is already complicated and make it more so. This was nOT about uncomfortable emotions, it was about the emotion of anger. You are verbose and need to simplify your teachings,
