  • The legendary Joseph Hill passed away suddenly at the beginning of Culture's 2006 European Tour. When it seemed like it was the end of the road for the group after three decades, the members forced his son to become lead singer and preserve his father's legacy.

    I met kenyatta when he was a young man sitting next to his father, who I was having a beautiful spiritual reasoning with. Joseph always loved spiritual over political discussions. When Joseph passed I was very sad, not because I had a ticket for the jazz cafe show, but because I always loved a brief chat with Joseph whenever he rocked up in London.
    I knew when I heard the news of Joseph's passing that that was not going to be the end of Culture, and no one more so than Kenyatta could keep the spirit of the band alive. Spirit to spirit Kenyatta,Joseph is so proud of you fathers son😉😉😉😉😉🎵🫂

      😄😄😄AMAZING, Really!!! I believe nowhere in the world, nor in any music genre do we have sons and siblings stepping into their fathers' shoes while bearing an eerie resemblance in style to their predecessors. Consider this: Bob Marley and his sons Ziggy and Damian Marley, Albert Griffiths of the Gladiators and son Anthony, Cat Coore and Son Shia Coore, Peter Tosh and Andrew Tosh, Gregory Isaacs and Kevin Isaacs, and Yes Bunny Wailers' eldest son I watched some time ago, his name eluding me at the moment .....and others still.....

    What a wonderful story..thank you for this. I met Culture when they were in Ventura, CA. many years ago... It was a big honor for me.
    My favorite show was back in the 1980s in Los Angeles at a venue called The Music Machine. It was a small place with great sound. Standing in the audience next to me was Bread from Wailing Soul and Joe Higgs. Joseph's set was over the moon. I will never forget how electric the crowd was.

    When Bob Marley died Rita wanted Ziggy to be the New lead singer of the band the band members refused. Few years later ziggy and the melody makers have a successfull carrer.

    • @donaldedwards4874
      @donaldedwards4874 Год назад

      That is absolutely untrue!!! How old was Ziggy when Bob passed on? If you said she wanted Ras Carby or Tinga Stewart then for reasons I will not state that would be believable. Bob formed The Melody Makers and recorded "Children Playing in The Street" before he even got sick. Listen it, it is a"children's song"

    I remember at one show that I worked on, Joseph was not the headliner even though he should've been, he turned and looked at me and said " natty me nar go leave nothing for dem when me leave offa stage!!!!!
    Man he worked fi him set with so much energy and hard work, when him come offa stage him look at me and said with a great smile and said me nar leff no food fi dem fi eat 😅
    It was thousands of people at this festival and sure enough most people started leaving after the next act started playing!!!
    Kenyatta has filled in his father's shoes better than bob's kids has not just with sounding like his father or mannerism but the humbleness towards the fans and not having a big ego!!! The culture of ini culture lives on ! Big respect king 🙏🏿❤️👑
