It is a shame that these 3 greats separated. Word, Sound and Power were incredible but in my opinion, if Peter says that he's the boss then the stepping razor is the boss!
It’s never a shame when a very talented duo or trio separates and each finds success. It means they eventually got too big to be in one band and their individual talents needed to further blossom and shine individually. It’s also an opportunity for the fans to fully appreciate who indeed is a star and who isn’t. If you cannot replicate that success after the split, then you were never truly the star to begin with. Artistically Tosh was on the wane for quite a while by then, so with Michael Rose & co Sly & Robbie had a far more interesting new musical project to concentrate on. Still, Santa and George Fullwood were an apt substitute, to say the least!

Bon appetit mi lion. Thanks for the support always 🙌
FullyWood and Santa Davis were the bassist and energetic
Real musicians 😂😂😂
BE WISE, Peter is NOT in the land of the living to defend himself, so, anyone can say, what the person is NOT around is MEANINGLESS. For example, look at the Court, WHEN one person is in court next one is not what happened????? His ONLY Sorrow/Guilty making Sly & Robbie, come forward now, to gave THERE VERSION ONLY. HMMM
Lmao. What an argument is that?
@@josephnuttn3600 FACT IS FACT, WAITED UNTIL SOMEONE IS DEAD, THEN CHAT SHARE FICTION OF THAT PERSON THAT IS NO LONGER AROUND, THEN THEY SAY THEY DID THIS & THAT, ONLY THEIR VERSION OF WHAT HAPPENED

Peter was out of fucking control 😂😂😂😂
peter and bunny left the wailers half way thru 1974
He's my guide jah guide
That drumroll triggered Tosh lol
Robbie’s best playing was with Peter
no mention of Donald Kinsey????
There was a hidden hand behind the scene that was sabotaging Peter and Bunny from the day they both decided not to be his musical wage slaves. But when you're hungry and living in poverty those forcing would be the beneficiaries of our creative and artistic culture.
Sly & Robbie were waaaaaay more visionary and talented that Peter Tosh ever was.
Not true
Tosh seemed to be an angry man. Sly and Robbie were very diverse. Black Uhuru is mentioned, Taxi gang, but also legendary with Grace Jones.
Soooo true.
Musically speaking, they were.
Imagine Tosh on those Black Uhuru Riddims…..
Artistically Tosh was on the wane for quite a while by then, so with Michael Rose & co Sly & Robbie had a far more interesting new musical project to concentrate on. Still, Santa and George Fullwood were an apt substitute, to say the least!

Sly and Robbie outgrew Peter…
Ducky Simpson seems to have corroborated that in his story about Black Uhuru..
The backup band got top billing.
Word Sound & Power 2 > Sly Robbie
Brethren Sly and Robbie didn’t do any work on the album Mama Africa Santa Davis was the drummer on that album.
@@user-fu4it5dw1p Sly & Robbis played on Feel No Way and two other tracks. Santa and Fullwood held down the rest
Mon, Santa played only in two tracks. Most of the Record was made between 79 and 81.
@@andreyviana504 where were you when that album Mama Africa was being recorded were you in the studio when it was recorded? See some of you people just talk run you mouth without even knowing the real facts and always try to discredit people who put in serious work on projects. Santa Davis played on all the tracks on the album Mama Africa album. So people like you need to do your research and stop making assumptions on things you don’t know about.
@@user-fu4it5dw1p are you a fucking ass dumb? Do I need to be in French Revolution to know the details that happened in this satanic event? I, pot head, used to talk with Ed Elizalde and had conversations with Santa Davis, Fully and Keith Sterling when they were in tour with Andrew Tosh. You better stop to be a big asshole thinking that you are a moralist and mr know it all in the internet. Now, put yourself in your insignificance and get out from here, your jelly ass.
@@user-fu4it5dw1p you dont know nothing about reggae drumming. The difference between Sly and Santa are very clear and someone that few very little about reggae will know when Carly, Style Scott, Sly, Santa and Horsemouth are playing. Santa played with Peter in two tracks, also, in Legalize It album. But you, as the dumbest, dont have the potential to fight down i man, because I'm the toughest.
i dont think that can be called part ways with all the albums they did together
sly acted like him did waa done.the rumbar and robbie always want to take more than 2quatty so before peter touch the ions and clap it him just be a big man and stop it. wow i feel like an artiste😅
😄😄
When SLY AND Robbie leave PETER TOSH never missed them. Santa Davis was much better
But his later work shows something else. 😂
@@josephnuttn3600 He only had two albums after thet left and they were still good.
Santa played in some tracks of Legalize it, Mama Africa and the whole No Nuclear War. Peter had with him great drummers. But the only ones that can play bass magically in his songs were Aston and Robbie.
Sly was actually doing 1 ,2,3 count to signal the start of a song for Peter..... then Peter disrespected him publicly on stage for nothing.... i was there on that beach concert tittled 'Sly Slick and wicked.....it was the frist time I ever seen Sly ' gotten upset and mad being around him as kid
Peter a crosses pure confusion with him westmoreland madness dem people nuh sensible
Peter tosh loose canon
He didn’t have a choice.
Lol peter evolve way better than sly and Robbie, listen peter last album no nuclear war, the instrumentalist/beats was way beyond its time
Not kidding, are you?
💪🏿
Peter matched good with Fully and Santa, but Sly and Robbie were The greatest with him! They combined perfectly.
@@andreyviana504 have you listen to no nuclear war album? listen the instruments on that then compare it with his other albums,
@@odellowe7340 Yes, I love "in my song" and "lessons in my life".
Apparently, on top of Peter's disrespect, there also seem to have been money issues later on, as S&R once told in an interview they never got proper payment for their contribution to the Mama Africa LP... But anyway, with "Equal Rights" they made one great classic album together, so we can only be thankful for that!
Interesting
I think Chris Whitie offer those Guys ah money to move away from Peter.
Sly and Robbie sued Peter. But Sly was there to help carry Peter's coffin. They were friends
True they were friends even beyond business
As legendary as he was, Peter was just way too militant and angry.
... That is what many oppressed, Black people who are conscious of the battle we wage with white supremacy and its collaborators, every morning when we wake, LOVED about our Direct Call to Arms Revolutionary, Petah..!
His anger and militancy was in proportion to his understanding of the demonic powers that run our world ...
Peter was very tempermental and egostistical. He made his best music with.Slyn n Robbie
And sly is still enjoying the fruit of his wickedness in jail..
RIP, Mr bush Doctor

Sly is in jail?

Love Peter Tosh. But come on let’s get real. His music was not better than Bobs. I think ppl just say that to be different. Peter had a few songs that straight up sucked.
If the music industry told you Peter was the legend and not Bob, you would be saying Bob was better than Peter. Peter's music was and still is on another level than Bob's. Keep letting the white music industry tell you who is the best in music not of their making.
@@cruciancruzangirl05 😆. I swear you’re all the same. So concerned with what white ppl think & value your own intelligence so low that you think it’s easy work for white ppl to manipulate your thought. So much so that you think that applies to every other black person. I guess your comment is true simply because you said it don’t you. Music is subjective. I find Bobs music better TO ME (subjective) because I find him to have more melodic music & I find that he was the better writer. If you think Peter was better that’s your business. I’m a musician. Not trying to pull rank but I’ll just assume that I understand music progressions a bit more than most ppl. But still that don’t mean that ppl don’t hear good music when they hear it. Both artist made great music but TO ME Bob was just on another level. Keep your foolishness to yourself
Don’t compare pop and roots music.. Tosh will always be the Emperor.. and we got kings
@@rasngaboofficial Tosh, roots music? 😂Well, that's only true for his first two albums, after which he started to make just slick commercial disco reggae, in a desperate attempt to to reach a mainstream audience and to become an international pop star. Tunes like 'Nothing But Love' are just embarrassing, really...
@@cruciancruzangirl05 Not kidding, are you?
Santa is a better drummer than Sly & Robie
But he's not half of the other riddim twins. There's only one.
No way, Sly can play every style and he proved it in his eclectic career, while Santa is an excellent Reggae drummer, but no more than that.
If yiu say Santa was more fit for Peter Tosh's music, than maybe we can agree.
@@musamusashi Yes my mark for santa was based only on his reggae playlist, which is fantastic. All the Sly's reggae appearances (I know) make no good comparism with Santa. Just to introduce myself: I play reggae everyday.
When Peter got Fully on bass & Santa on drums The Music went to the Next Level ..
When playing Live with Peter Sly Dunbar and Robbie were totally butchering Peters Music was a horrible sound
