Jaguars, especially from the later Ford-era, have been tremendously underrated and insanely cheap in the used market for a while now. The best ones to buy are the 4.2L supercharged S-Type R, XJR, and XKR models as they had the revised timing chain tensioners that don't have the issues from the earlier 4.0 and later 5.0 models, were paired with the very reliable ZF 6HP26 6-speed transmission (as long as the fluid is changed regularly), come with 4-piston Brembo brakes all around, have electronically-adjusted shock absorbers (called CATS), and most of the electronics were sourced from Denso (not Lucas like the earlier models were).
Parts are surprisingly easy to find and relatively cheap, especially if you shop around. If you don't want to spend the money on an XKR, you can get the same exact powertrain in the S-Type R or XJR for half the (already pretty low) price. These cars (particularly the S-Type R and XJR) in good running and driving condition can be regularly found for under $10k, some even under $5k with higher mileage and moderate wear.

Best looking Jag IMO is the 2014 XK Dynamic R, in coupe form, 510 HP with the ground effect kit and lowered stance absolutely perfection👍

I have had a 2011 XK since 2015. It's had some problems, but overall it's been pretty reliable. I have thought about selling it, but its hard to find a 2 Door V8, RWD with great legroom that still looks great. If I sold it today, i would probably get around $15k- $18k. Most maintenance is easy to do. The bad reputation of the electronics does not apply to the 2010+ cars... they are bosch, denso ZF based and the bigger issue is going to be plastic hoses, bushings etc. They should have made Jaguar a sub brand of LandRover, making 1 or 2 sporty gas powered cars.

    I have a ’15 FType V6S in British Green and a ’17 XE 35T RSport.

Just don’t call it “Jag Wire"

Owning several V-12 Jags, i would say the car is only as good as your mechanic. Everything has to be very exact. A lot of mechanics couldn't figure it out. Parts aren't that hard to find currently. Of all the cars I've driven over the years, there is nothing like a good running V-12 XJ-S! Tremendously underrated cars!

I can't think of a single new vehicle, high end or low end, that I would want to own. Hasn't been one that actually got my blood pumping since maybe the S197 Mustang or 2008 Challenger re-release...

If you've never driven an X351 you've never lived.
    I'll be keeping my X351 until my wooden box arrives. 50mpg 3.0 V6 diesel 300bhp. 700 miles range ⚠️
Interior virtually 100% leather and suede, no plastic or vinyl was harmed in the construction 😀
Only cost £18k with 30K miles.
Ministerial luxury travel like flying on a magic carpet😅
    Happy days

It’s a shame to see the direction so many of these companies are going in. For Jaguar to be marketing to the progressive woke people but say they want to compete with Bentley and Rolls Royce makes absolutely no sense. Last time I checked, urban wokies living in an 800 sq ft apartment can’t afford a $300,000 Jaguar. That model will send them into the ground. Oh what a world we live in now! Sometimes all you can do is just sit back and watch for your own entertainment.

I've been wanting a late 90's/early 2000's XJ for awhile now. But I don't want to get caught up in the meme of everyone buying them for inflated prices. I'll stick to my Mercedes for now.
