    Very good vid man. Very helpful. I had gone to the service shop, they ran a scan and the code was P0128 (thermostat). They said that it would cost ~$100 to replace. Now I can see how easy this is and will do it myself. Greetings from Dominican Republic.

    Thanks for this vid man. I had a error code pop on my 2012 civic thermostat.. got fix before i get my cars inspection this month.

      No problem, did you replace it already? Code kept coming up on mine and would stick around for awhile disappear and come back.
      Once I figured out what the code was for I replaced the thermostat and it been fine ever since.

    I haven't seen any error codes but my '12 civic runs cold. Never comes up to operating temp in the winter.
    Hope a new thermostat will solve . Thanks for the video.
    (Local shops want $100-$150 to do this so will try to do it myself.)

    Do You have to drain the coolant if u replace a new thermostat?

      Yes because you should drain it from underneath first. If not you will loose it all from the thermostat housing anyway. Use a basin to catch the fluid. I wouldn't suggest using the same fluid again unless it's new. It's cheap enough just to replace it
