    Was the car overheating before you changed the thermostat?

      I don't think so I just wasn't getting heat!

    was the thermostat stock open?

      I want to say it was stuck closed and wouldn't open so I wasn't getting any heat I honestly don't remember

      One more quick question, once you put the thermostat on, does the check engine turn automatically off, or u have to do it manually by removing the battery post ? This would be tremendous help if u can help me out with this question

      @@pabloniso10 you shouldn't have to do anything just drive it for a while and it'll go off automatically. Let me know how you make out after you drive it for a while give it a day or two. I don't remember having to undo the battery post. I want to say I just drove it for a while. Just be aware if you undo the battery post sometimes it resets the radio back to factory and won't work unless you get the code for it. It isn't always the case but it may happen.

      Collective Consciousness yea thank you, when I did it I took off the battery and it went away, so I don’t know if the problem is fixed, should I try the scanner to see if ilthe car is good ? the first time I did it it’s said it was p0128 which is indicating thermostat. So hopefully it doesn’t come back

    Is gasket silicone required for new thermostat

      When I bought the thermostat it came with its own gasket no silicone required
