The hole point of the setup and running the political party was to take the UK away from bureaucrats, running the UK from Brussels. Hence Brexit of which we got in Name Only.
And you cannot deny the fact that the conservatives of which 70% never wanted us to leave. Have kept us under ECHR rule.
In other words they over rule our parliament because it suits the majority in power.

Government for the people… by the people. Who would’ve thought that the rallying cry of America would ever wind its way back home?
We have a temporary foreign worker programs here in Canada, they come and work for a determinate amount of time and go back to Jamaica, and other country's. Turning the pandemic the boarders were closed,but farmers, fish packing plants and others still wanted the workers. Our Premier said we didn't need them because the locals would do the work, he soon found out that we wouldn't,and business got their workers.
This policy has regressed wages for entry level jobs in many areas. The concept is fine but of course businesses take advantage of it. They have no intention of hiring local and cycle through TFW over and over for minimum wage
@mattwilliams7454 They are paid accordingly. They are provided a place to live,a day off, and come back year after year,usually to the same place. The fish plants are unionized, and when piece work comes for small fish, the unionized workers do not want to do that work. Yes their are abuses by companies,but for the most part, it works well. Oh, by the way, I would get paid the same.
@marblackCanada in the town I was living in, Tim Hortons workers were getting $15.50 an hour. Then the temporary foreign worker program came in and it was down to $12.00 an hour. This sort of thing happens in areas where there are more jobs than people. The pressure that creates is what buoys entry level wages. Obviously this is extremely difficult for small businesses and the program was brought in to help. But it's larger corporations that have ended up taking advantage of it.
@@mattwilliams7454 Raise the minimum wage then AND remove subsidies for working people from the government. Employers must pay more - especially larger ones like FB, Amazon, Tescos, Sainsbury's, Smiths, Boots etc.

There is a reason the demographic looks the way it does at all of your major fast food chains and coffee shops. It's corporate welfare. They are being used as imported slaves, for half the cost.

UK has got rid of a lot of foreigners since Brexit, only problem is, the majority of these foreigners were well-educated high-earning tax-payers, significant numbers of whom were working in the NHS, and hence the skills shortage in the NHS; or they were foreign workers on the minimum-wage (or less) doing jobs those born in the UK didn't and still don't want to do, such as warehouse workers and seasonal farm workers/fruit-n-veg pickers.

Of course wage rises have nothing to do with raising the minimum wage; and the Health Dept. is advertising in Kenya and South Africa for nurses, and paying them a £12k signing-on fee & free travel to UK because there are so many UK nationals clamouring for the jobs.

Has James o brian ever used a positive route and tone to discuss a politicians faults causes and remedies. To be honest, i can only stand the negative espect for shorter periods than he uses.
Unfortunately it appears negative points of view are his norm. Must an interview be harrassment to achieve its aim. Could he try a more light hearted approach. Not flippant, butless harrassing. I wouldnt subject myself to his harrassment. If he promised a gentler, slower style reducing the pressure as though hes trying to break a witness in the stand. I would not put myself on trial for his experienced pleasure.

Failing to recognize said infrastructure needs expanding because of the growing population would be the true issue.
Or are you saying the NHS would do great with 20% of its workforce gone? Same for the care sector and many others. Just look at the list of occupations with shortages in them.
