- Опубликовано: 5 окт 2024
- We leave Sapodilla Cayes to Tom Owen's Caye where we find a very unusual Shell House, made of Conch shells. Invited by the owners we take a tour through the house and its history.
It's time to leave Belize but not before we visit the tiniest island ever with no name.
Give it thumbs a up if you liked this episode!

Hi Ms Donna and Mr. Scafe, miss you guys, hope to see you again someday 💚💚💚
The people of the Shell House is living an amazing life story. I hope someday find someone who can share something with like that. Live, Love and Laugh guys, it's a wonderful world. Thank you for the videos!
Your welcome
Absolutely love these underwater vids! But the cool little local things like the shell house are priceless, too.
Yup, Margarida is afraid of birds, but not much else. That island house is pretty sweet. I hate to think what a good hurricane would do to it. You showed us what a good hurricane can do to a small island a couple of videos ago.
Love that house... and the drone footage... all round great episode!
Beautiful!
Golden spotted snake eel. Love the wildlife encounters. Keep it up!
Thanks a lot Hal, we didnt know what snake was. Cheers
Amazing video guys, loved the little Shell house. Happy Travels, Stay Safe.
What an amazing area, I just love all those small islands ....... Great photography .... Keep Well and Safe as always
What a great video, exquisite drone footage and the tiny islands are pretty cool!
Great video! Drone footage music video was very well done. Fascinating visit to the Conch House. One of a kind. Love the diving footage. Keep up the great work.
Best shell ever . Cracking vlog guys . Keep em coming :-D
Love y'all's veidos!
YES sir very good looking SHELLS.
That was really cool. ..thanks mate
oh, that's some pretty coral
How cool is that. Love to know more about the couple .
Make me a sandwich. Billy now.
Fantastic video-- Absolutely loved it . Thank you for posting.
Blimey, that brings back memories. Anchored off Tom Owen’s back in early 94. Nothing there. Just the two of us on the boat and a local fisherman on the island. That smaller island with the shack in the picture had a couple of palm trees on it back then to string up a hammock. Maybe got destroyed by a hurricane. Did some great spear fishing with the fisherman and we all ate grouper on the back of the boat. I also remember those bloody 30/40 knot winds blowing out of the west during the night. Second anchor in that direction helped. Sad to see the dodgy money grabbers now. We checked in at Placencia heading up from Rio Dulce. Got to be honest, but there were some places in the Caribbean we didn’t check into but just hid away in isolated areas to avoid the hassle. Might be time to get a t shirt!
Maybe get a shirt indeed...you would be the 13th
SAILING into FREEDOM guess I’m number 13 then!
Wooohooo
Very beautiful 😍👍
WOW!
That tiny island would be perfect. Just clean it up and open the Sailing into Freedom cocktail beach bar. No competition. You're welcome.
....no customers.
Your welcome
Awesome video :-) we just came across to you now as we posted our Placencia episode, we are stuck in Belize, so plenty time to explore the cayes :-)
Sail away...I guess the good part is no one is collecting $10 anchoring fees now
@@SAILINGintoFREEDOM true 😁
Great episode !
Great camera footage, and the house was very cool. I would setup camp right there and never leave. How can they stay there for 15 years and not have a storm wipe out the homes?
Robert Baker the main house is built in a series of domes one of the strongest structures known CHEERS
@@smokindauberdoo4204 I wonder if they ate all the conch's as they were building.
That was interesting and beautiful house. Nice camera work on the whole video, really liked the underwater coral and wildlife work.
Lovely mate ...cheeers
Lov ur channel👍👍keep it up!!!
Great video. Could lose track of time and enjoy
Nice good luck to them!
Oh man dont ever change that Intro. Makes me so happy when i hear it. And you didnt disappoint, always beautiful stuff, and near death experiences. Not sure what happened, did the snubber come off? At least your heard it. God it's like will you ever get a break.
Crazy Is? How do they cope in the chop. Must come through the house on a weekly basis. Go upstairs i guess.
Not just getting food and meds for the elderly, but how did they get all that concrete there? He is working on the power, omg keep the water out.
So good to see oldies going for it, what a huge accomplishment. No old age home for them. The beauty of all those identical shells on the building, amazing, must have bought those in from somewhere. A bit of a job building that, there.
Throw a fishing line out the window...
Have you got some fins for that beautiful motor of yours yet?
Stay safe,...if you can. What could possibly happen next?
How about a failed seacock. Its about time you filled with water...best of luck. And I thought i had bad luck.
And much appreciate the loaves and fished production. You do so much for so many with so few camers and gear. Or is that a Churchill production? Only quality people ...
Nothing but quality but someone recently said nothing and no quality...ha..
@@SAILINGintoFREEDOM dont listen to dickheads. You guys are appreciated by your dedicated and disturbed followers for sure. Just stay safe. Happy chrisy
Nice drone shots. Hope you score an outboard soon.
Hi, from sunny Florida 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟😙😙⚘
Hi from rainy Oregon!!!! 💦
Hi from Panama now
And it is sunny
awesome video, 👍
Let's hear more about how they get their food (and medical if needed) on their Island. Imagine that drama o---)
An water. Looks like they need to be closer to medical at their age. I don't see their boat.
@@grancito2 They must have Amazon deliver their food and medical robots etc... Hummm very expensive Internet paid for by what they save in rent. How do people miss the most basic questions?
Capt Mark Grey...it is liberating not having to rely on others...just you and nature....the best
@@SAILINGintoFREEDOM I just want to know how they get their food and water and how far medical stuff is away from them. Very good questions.
I agree with you as much as possible,,, be prepared as possible for everything possible but also have a plan for what you can not handle and to know what you can not handle like major medical emergencies etc...
@@captainmarkgray8856 basically we brought food and water good enough for the duration, rent a boat. Then water is collected from rain into that circular building close to the short building. Internet/electricity using Solar Panel, and generator for emergency. Most beautiful place no care for the world or negativity of some people. Hope to land there again someday...fingers crossed.
Great.
After loosing one boat , I’m amazed that you would sail around in that shallow area.
Didn't even touch once
WoW!
you polled throe and you're videos got beter grate successes high five
Conch salad is delicious!
Dam, I’m super jealous, I could set there and drink Bloody Mary’s for a week 🍺 keep the videos coming, best wishes from Illinois
i guess there are no hurricanes down that way
every10 years or so
I still get a fluttering heart with Nerma in the intro! Waiting for her contact info.....
Now that's not bad for $3 a week! What an idyllic spot! The Sapodillas look pristine.....I expected that lobster to be lunch. Have you caught up with Jordan and Desiree on "Atticus"" yet? They are also youtubers and are at NE Island in the Sapodillas!
That Island with the shell house is cool. I'm not knocking them, But I feel for that man and woman, because at their age If they have a medical emergency one of them is going to have to watch the other pass away and not be able to do anything about it.
Living in "paradise" has its ups and downs.
8:20 That couple are amazing!! Truly inspiring
You looked very envious Peter
I can see you ending up in a place like this come retirement
Oh wait, what job do you do again?
Job?
And yes I could see myself there....and only 150 per year....how great is that
Hey, Merry Christmas to you and your family to mate
And of course, your 1st mate too ;)
With how close that house is to the water , what happens when they get a bit of rough weather ?? well done on the drone work Plukka
I guess they swim, there was more of an island 20 years ago but it was washed away
İ really envy your life dudes
So you had the snubber hooked on but the anchor winch brake not tightened?
No matter how much you tighten it, it will give in a blow. You ought not to rely on that anyway cos usually winches are only held on by 4 smallish bolts...not enough when the shit hits
hey guys did you see this...Glen Martin, the former boyfriend of murdered backpacker, Louisa Vesterager Jespersen, paid tribute to her on Facebook
the sound is driving me crazy but other than that it is a great video
Nothing but quality. Will be getting some gear to fix the issues. Currently it is 4th on the list...it was about 12th about 2 months ago so not so bad
@@SAILINGintoFREEDOM Get Margarida to ask for donations to the camera fund and you'll have the funds in no time. All these beautiful things deserve quality photography.
beautiful place, serious question though,do they not get choppy seas there? or is it so shallow for such a distance it doesnt effect it, genuinely interested
Surrounded by shallow reef that breaks the swells and chop but a really big blow from the NW and they are %$#@
Did that garbage wash up there or did people leave it I wonder?
👍🇨🇦😃
Guys, that’s no snake. It’s an spotted eel.
Yeah after we posted it I thought about how different its head was so yes you are right
I remember many years ago diving up on one of these and it surprised me and the first thing I thought was sea snake and it was right on top of me. I nearly peed my wetsuit. That’s how I know. 😜
Please say that you cleared that poor little island of as much trash as you could when you were there? As social media users and influencers I think everyone needs to pull together to try and make a difference, however futile it may seem, and be seen to be trying to make a difference. The more people it inspires to help, or change what they do and how they do it, maybe there might be something left worth seeing and experiencing for our children when they grow up.
The sad thing is that even 150 miles off shore at any given time you can see rubbish floating. It never ends. In Central America there is no education about this at all an people just chuck anything at anytime
What does your outboard motor run on?
Oars
Beer
It doesn't
Overdue for new intro
Soon
VERY NICE UNDER WATER.HOW OFTEN VIDEOS?
As a sound engineer, I hope you can improve your sound.
As a sound engineer I hope you can make a suggestion
@@SAILINGintoFREEDOM just make sure all the dialogue is roughly the same level. Merry Christmas to you guys.
you should get a cat...
The meow kind?
Do you want to sponsor us? Ha...I think those days are long gone

Nothing but bad quality....your welcome...your welcome
Disappointed.
