It doesn’t get much better than that. The boat and the clouds from the island half way though the episode was just amazing
I remember when I was a kid, snorkeling off the Great barrier Reef in Australia, just beautiful coral and loads of fish. Still pretty much like that when I took up SCUBA diving in the early eighties, but not as much fish, now, it's heart breaking to see the coral bleaching. That uncharted island you found is a treasure, and should be protected. I think I would have been moved to tears seeing that place. You two are living the adventure of a lifetime.

Another great video. That shot if Atticus in front of the sunset was incredible. you could print that out and frame it.
All of the footage of the reef fish and corals is beautiful. But you didn't shoot that triggerfish! ;-) Don't judge something worth doing by whether someone else is there doing it or not. Perhaps being a pioneer doing something that no one else is doing makes you and your journey unique. As long as YOU are enjoying it, it doesn't matter that no one else is. You sharing it here makes it worthwhile.

You gotta come to the Great Barrier Reef off the Queensland coast. 1,500 miles of this sort of abundant coral and fish life. Gob smackingly beautiful when you get under water. Pretty special above water too.

Hello Atticus Dudes, Hope you had a very Merry Christmas! This week has been Hell week for me fighting medical problems, even though your video brought a smile to me as I watched you chasing fish around the coral. It was interesting to watch the various species of fish hanging together in groups, much like the human population. Be careful around those coral eating fish as they have teeth that can put a nasty bite on you. I had a trigger fish almost bite my finger off, if I hadn't moved my hand so fast, I still have a nice scar. Stay safe, and as always, I Love Y'all.

Hi guys, love your videos, i was wondering if you guys had any shark repellent or if you were a bit scared of sharks when diving? I cant imagine just enjoying myself in the ocean cause i would be afraid all the time that a great white would come out from the shadows :( also, have you guys ever encountered one?

That looks exactly like an Island I went on a snorkeling excursion on when I was in Belize on a Carnival Cruise ship. We took a double decker boat from the cruise ship, anchored off from the island and you could swim or they took some on kayaks to the island where there were already like 3 or 4 people there with coolers of drinks for sale.
Remember there is no such question as killing each ,other only he fell overboard lol .
What was that bobbing about in the background around 8 mins in? Probably a tree branch, or, a curious reef shark with a long nose

Do you guys ever have scary encounters with sharks?
Dropping your work life, and everything else, to go explore and see places on a boat, is not that easy. If it was, those places you were alone at, would be wall to wall boats. My biggest strange feeling when we were cruising was constant guilt, because I was having so much fun and enjoying it. I kept feeling like I was wrong for not working 50 hours a week and making money. Family and friends subtly, and not so subtly, often reinforced that with their comments. The business marketing world has conditioned us to accept a lifetime of servitude for shiny, and mostly useless, trinkets. It can be very hard to shake that dogma off when cruising. Enjoying your videos!
As a Belizean who grew up in Belize and spending all my Summers with my father, who was a fisherman on Tobacco Caye. It was also gratifying to hear that your cruise through Belize restored your appreciation for cruising. By the way I see you passed by Tobacco Caye on your way to South Water Caye. Tobacco Caye is as beautiful a paradise as South Water Caye. You all are blessed to have each other. I also admired the love you put into restoring Atticus to such a seaworthy cruiser. May you all be blessed in your cruise around the globe. Let me know if you remember passing just outside of Tobacco Caye on your way from the Atolls up north. You probably won't see Atolls again until you hit the South Pacific. Let me know your thoughts....I will be following you on RUclips.

Should have planted a flag or at least a sticker! Then open a tourism center and marine chandlery for boaters and divers. Maybe a hotel, Dr. Seuss type architectural, you know because of the small footprint.

I went snorkeling on the coral reefs by caye caulker once and the fish seemed to be unafraid and friendly and swimming real close but when I reached out to touch one of them they were much farther away than they appeared. lol, I noticed you did the same thing.

Small point. But I think you should be pronouncing "cay" as if it were "key". Could others comment on this, because I am not sure. The reef and living coral footage was stunning. I was surprised that there wasn't any bleached coral!! And that sunset was one of the best I've seen. Nice job with that footage!! So you saw live live thriving coral. And if you noticed it's very sparse travel and commercialized. Plus an uncharted isle sticking just feet above the waves. How is any of that possible that global warming hasn't swamped that tiny isle or killed that choral also?
Question: if you guys like somewhere and your finally getting some rest why do you move so much? I see this on other sailing channels and it doesn’t make sense to me. I know the video doesn’t represent time, did you actually spend a week there when you paid $60.00? Sketchy can be a wonderful thing, don’t always take the easy way.

WHAT IS THAT FLOATING BEHIND YOU?
No disrespect, but you did not "discover" a caye (pronounced: key). I understand that human pride makes us think we are the first. However, we have mapped all the cayes in that region. My friend works in the Belize Coast Guard and we often go on private tours in the area so I speak from personal experience. The fact that it's not on Garmin does not mean it hasn't been mapped. It has been charted by Belizeans. Belize is slow to adapt and technology reaches its shores later than it does over-developed parts of the world. Just remember it was mapped BEFORE the programmers at Garmin inputs the data. Try driving around mainland Belize with Google Maps and tell me how that goes. Hit or miss.
$60 US ? Seems a little steep for 5 days …
$12/day. You can't even go anywhere in California for $12 a day. I use to have to spend more than that 25 years ago just to go to the lake for a day. Try going to any RV campground and see what it cost per day.
@@OrvilleHarmison I think your a little confused. All they are going to do is take a dinghy once or twice and walk around a little. The boat is anchored off shore. NOT an RV campground or anything like it. But, it is a "reserve" and that requires protection. thing about these reserves is that all of the fish breed, and other sea life , which makes the adjacent fishing areas a lot better fishing. Turns out the fisherman outside the reserve reap almost all of the benefit. That said, if they have the money, nice donation.
