Something similar happened to me a couple years ago. I am a single black woman and was looking to have a house built. I went to several builders. One builder company that I went to ignored me and saw several other families before me even though I had a scheduled appointment time. When she finally sat down to meet with me, she kept telling me that the custom things I wanted were too expensive. And she kept trying to end the meeting quickly. When I finally told her my income, her entire tone and demeanor changed. Smh. I said "never mind" and walked out. I ended up getting an even better home built by a different builder who treated me with respect from start to finish.

A similar thing happened to me, as a mixed race individual i get discriminated alot, especially down south but I'm used to it. But when i went to a contractor company about having a house built, I regret going their, I've never felt like that before, they said I couldn't afford the house like the one i was describing and said i was wasting their time, So i left as i was leaving my uncle who was the CEO and owner recognised me and asked me what was wrong, so i told him and he said he would handle it, when i walked back with him to her office you should have seen her face, she asked why didn't I tell her that the CEO was my uncle, so i told her why should i, do i need to tell everyone that my fathers a wealthy white man to be treated with respect as far as i know she and her staff that treated me poorly where fired. I learned that no matter where you go you'll be judge and that needs to change.

I was at a car dealership when this old farmer walked in and started looking at a Ford pickup in the showroom. The salesman ignored him for about 10 min. When this old man got his attention and he had to go over and talk to him,you could tell he wasn't happy. The old man asked him a bunch of questions about the trucks engine and drive train, warranties, availability, and color choices. The salesman answered most of the questions, showed all the enthusiasm of a man going to the dentist.About this time the owner of the dealership came in, rushes over to the old farmer, shakes his hand ,slaps him on the back and asks if he's being served.needless to say the salesman was stunned.Thats when the owner explains theve done business with this old farmer for 30 years. And this old man owns 3 farms in the area, and rotates out his trucks every 5 years.Long story short, the old man ordered 11 new trucks, writes a check and arranges to pick up the trucks the next week.

He came with his family to visit us in Phoenix AZ. We went out in the desert in our trucks but we all wished we had a big 4wheel drive. So on our way home, he seen something he liked and even though we were tired and dirty from playing in the desert all day…we stopped. The salesmen wouldnt give him the time of day. My uncle was upset but he showed restraint and crossed the highway. Where the salesmen gave respect even though we looked awful. My uncle bought two jeeps from this guy. After the sale we drove into the other lot…and honked our horns!! 💪😂👍👍

They thought she really didn't have any money and was just looking. She was in women's dept I worked across the aisle in men's. When someone finally came up to her the lady made a purchase of several thousand. She was buying a new wardrobe for her grand daughter who was going away to school that fall. Everyone that ignored her was sorry. Never judge. BTW they found out that a man that was a frequent customer that came in there wearing Armani suits was stealing them blind😂

I called the sales people a few times, none of them bothered or they just showed the hold up hand sign.. when one suddenly asked me "What are you doing here?", yes she said the same exact line, I told her what else I am here for? To buy a car and none of them is entertaining. She then ask a reluctant male colleague to guide me. His attitude changes once I provided him my pay slip documents for the car loan application. Here in my country we claim we are one of the most united multi-racial community, but our actions proved otherwise. House renting, house ownership, loan application, jobs, all are actually somewhat racial biased. I can't name the country else I will probably get arrested for excersixing my freedom of speech under the pretense I am creating "havoc" or disorder to the country's integrity and unity.

This actually happened to us in Florida Coral Springs. We went to an open house while there the sellers dropped in and saw us. Our offer was accepted but when the sellers found out it was us ,he literally said we were not right for the association. Needless to say he never got it sold, a few years later 2008 the market crash and his house went to foreclosure and we got it for a lot less today we are still proud owners.

I really liked the video. You can never judge a book by its cover. I've seen a very wealthy person drive a Ford Truck, and wear tattered clothing, and live in a regular middle class home. That's like the book entitled "The Millionaire Next Door." They acted just like a regular person, but a self-made multi-millionaire. That's called "old money," because they're not flashy, and they're not trying to impress anybody. As I said before, you can't judge a book by its cover.

This happened to me some time before... my manager at work was speaking to a client for an appointment regarding a vacant appartment available for rent.. she is the building manager and have relatives live there. i told her is that appartment still available? She replied that no no its not gonna work for you... i said what you mean? She replied its just not for your reach...
Few months later I left the job and got a new job, andI was looking for a seaview apartment closer to the new job, and found a nice one and moved in... days later i bumped in to her at the elevator and she is like what you do here? I said i live here just moved in...

Unfortunately things like this still happen in 2022. It is the plainest looking people that have money. Don't judge people based on how they look - you just never know.

It's a little sad this the guy has been racially discriminated and profiled so much over the years, that he's just gotten used to it by now.

Moral of the story: Never judge a book by it's cover
The Realtor got what he deserved, he is racist

Even if you have $$$ n show up in non designer clothing, you are judged for "looking" broke. It happens all the time.

This is such a great!! informative video. I love it when the homebuyer says, " Get off my property" and when he told the white realtor go to the office and pack up all your stuff because he was fired. I love it! But in reality, us African American are always being denied homeownership in the United States that the sad hard truth. Great!!! video very informative.
