- Just like awareness is inherent within our basic goodness, Mingyur Rinpoche explains that love and compassion are also always present. Nevertheless, we experience suffering, pain, and stress. In this video, Mingyur Rinpoche introduces practices aimed at understanding this seeming paradox.

This Man and Adam Watts are my favorites!!!!!!!!!!!!
I do not show crocodile tears toward selfish entitled individuals.
I have compassion for the poor, the hungy, the suffering, and the lonely.
Be aware, there are so many out there. I a few kind words can lift someone's sprint.
Merry Christmas Mingyur Rinpoche.
One subject in particular I really would like to hear Mingyur Rinpoche thoughts about : Self-sabotage.
Like if you agree.
Better known as *delusion*.
Self-sabotage comes from the ideas we hold dear about our self. We repeat these ideas in our behavior and then only see what we want to see to confirm our biases, called "confirmation bias", and disregard looking at the negative effects. There is then a certain comfortable pleasure we get from maintaining even negative ideas about our self, since they strengthen our sense of self.
Thank you Rinpoche for your wise words as always. I just wanted to share that practicing metta towards people who have harmed you is especially difficult. However, one viewpoint that has helped me immensely is what I learnt from one of Ajahn Geoff Thanissaro's books. You do not have to "like" the person - but you can wish for them to mend their hurtful ways. In wishing them to mend their hurtful ways into something more skillful and kind, they are generating good kamma - which in turn will result in their own true happiness. So in this sense, wishing them happiness necessitates that they change their unskilful deeds towards virtue because in it's absence they cannot discover true happiness. This is a sentiment that requires absolutely no hypocrisy and can be felt for literally everyone. I hope this view can help many others as it has helped me in spreading metta towards persons who have deliberately harmed me.
What is the title of this book? I'm interested in this comment especially with you making the point about this being possible without hypocrisy.
Thank you for the great teaching, Rinpoche! I experienced my ‘’dissatisfaction’ disappear with meditation you taught. Now I’ll practice compassion on your five steps, the first step is myself!!
Incredible. I was in a dilema for days. And i just realize i need to know the difference between love compassion and wisdom. I needed more compassion to feel the others. I hope this words from the video make me understand this better

Basic Goodness & Compassion
This core belief is rooted in Buddhist Psychology and based on the qualities being positive ones:
Openness, intelligence and Compassion...q...this idea is ultimately rooted in experiencess and worthnessin oneself and others.
Compqssion is an Aspiration a state of mind, wanting others to be free from suffering. It's not Empathy alone but rather an Empatetic Altruism that actively strives to free others from suffering.
Geniune Compassion must have both Wisdom & Lovingkindness.
Thak you Rinpoche 🙇♂️🙏🏼🙇♀️🙏🏼
I love your English voice ❤️❤️❤️

Well-articulated. The analogy of mud on the diamond inspires immense confidence while reminding one there is some suffering ahead, but the suffering can be worthwhile to find relief on a larger scale. Please link us to content that shows a daily structure of behaviors to contend with that challenging growth :)

-I do something good.
-I think of myself as a good person.
-I give in to temptation because I'm not in control.
-My image of being a good person gets shattered and I suffer
♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
It was an insiteful morning. I meditated O mani padme um. Diating tana haya band. On chanting I was instructed to learn 8 brocades. Shoalin and do it to the rhythm of Ya DeviSavabhetshu. Internet will not let me write that correctly.
Listening they have asked for 10 min meditation and 10 min chant. 10 to 15 minutes Qi gong morning and evening.
I can do that. Thanks

‘’ All the life experiences we go through lifetime after lifetimes, all the self reflection, spiritual practices, self work we do, is for us to develop the human psych into maturity’’.’’ It’s not about walking on water, it isn’t about knowledge beyond measure’’, it is developing the human psych to the point of maturity, that’s when enlightenment naturally happens’’. ‘’It’s doesn’t depend on age, or how tuff ones experience was…. It is a inner growth thing, that’s why it’s called self realization, the self transformation will happen naturally, it all depends on the individual, can take one lifetime, can take many, all up to you and how fast you can and willing to grow spiritually’’. ❤🌎🌸🌺🌼🌹🌷🌷🌸🌺🌼
Ok got it. all beings; simple 😄
🤩👌🙏🙌✨
Advices for nice guys
Happy dipawali
Doing that on the folks I hate is soooo difficult. I have to meditate for a good 60 minutes to pull that off successfully, and really feel it. So...so hard. My diamond has a mountain of mud on top of it. :P haha
Le potentiel de la boue est de pouvoir être iliminé...en sachant ça nous perdons pas espoir et notre confiance en notre potentiel de transformation grandit 🙏
Where can I get the right and best meditation music?
Please tell me... 🙏🏻
Despite the regular prays, i still have negative thoughts and sometimes it formed into every dark one. So rinpoche,... how to eliminate such things.
But u didn’t tell the proper solution or method for compassion and love….
린포체도 밀라레빠 존자님처럼 고승되셔야 하는데
for me .. the mud or diamond are the same importance even as a metaphor bc the mud is educational as warnings. different substances with the identical importance.
Some people dont think they have the diamond and all they see is mud. Not even as a warning. They think mud is all they have.
The death of my dog last year redefined "compassion" for me. While the act of showing compassion is usually a graceful and peaceful event, the process of learning to be compassionate cannot but involve pain and self-doubt. I am now filled with a love and concern for others that I never knew was possible, and probably wouldn't have been possible without losing my best friend and gaining that insight into my own emotional fragility. My point is - I suspect compassion comes with life experience and learning to let go of "the answers" when they are not forthcoming.
I had almost identical experience!! Before I loose my dog, the word compassion was just a shallow concept in my head, compare to the depth and degree of compassion I have now. I had extreme hard time taking care of my old dog for a year, but my own suffering somehow prepared me to extend compassion - with lessons of Tibetan Buddhism. Gabe, sorry for your loss, I’m still sorry for my own loss too, and I appreciate you sharing your story which makes me cry (but happy cry) ❤️💕🌸
Please tell me how to reach nirvana I beg you
Diamond covered with mud scrubbing needed how? Dukkha at peak .
Guys, i have some problems and i'm not sure what to do about it. I feel like i'm on robot pilot all the time. I do all kinds of interesting things, but i feel like my brain is not really there, but somewhere else. Which might be fine while doing basic stuff, but when i'm doing my hobbies (parkour, mtb), i should be 100% focused on that exact moment. I even got some injuries from not being present.
Sometimes i try to really pay attention to all the details, everything around me, like if i was a child again, but it doesn't last long.
Do anyone has a guess, what could i do to snap out of this mindset, and be there?
Long answer: take care of the body, eat well, sleep well, exercise, etc. and practice breaking the habits of the mind, e.g waking up late, internet addiction, study and work hard. It is important to always to push the boundaries of what is possible in the body and mind in order to keep the mind at attention. You will feel more present and capable in doing this.
The short answer is: be more disciplined. Be the master of your mind and body, or they will master you.
You seem to be making a demand that you "should be 100% focused on that exact moment". Cut yourself a break and accept yourself as an imperfect human being. If we didn't drift off we wouldn't need to keep coming back. Not paying attention is natural. What is unnatural or new, is realising that you are drifting off. Before meditating I walked around most of my life 100% unaware that my mind was everywhere except here. In my case I will be bringing myself back to this moment for the rest of my days. Adding stress by demanding you are different or 'better' than you are is a hinderance in itself and something to be let go of. (I am not a buddhist, but I meditate).
If you're training those hobbies fairly hard, you can get CNS fatigue which will cause that feeling of lack of focus. Training multiple sports at the same time will cause this to happen faster than just training one sport. One thing is for sure, cut out any particularly dangerous movements until you iron it out, because there's lots of injuries that stick with you for life.
Sir I am rahul from india I want to be your student please sir accept me
Human jumped into mud long time ago, when human named itself the crown of creation and the image of God.
In different times and places this had different names and interpretations but the idea was the same.
With this human chose death and destruction instead of Love/ compassion.
I lost my diamond in all that mud.
Dear friend, dukha should explain as Buddha said.1st noble truth is dukha Arya Satya. There is eight reason of dukka.
I saw many comments against Mingyur Rinpoche. Than you can simply be a guru if you know more than him. You will have thousands of followers. You will sit on the thrown. Someone will cook for you and wash your robes (glittery and shiny). You will have thousands of dollars in donation. Wow!!! Why you don't be guru if you know more and better than him? My friend, my golden advice to you. It seems to me that you are suffering.
ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ 린포체다 린포체
We can't be this because we're not monks there's no point trying to change us we're workers we go and work and we're proud to work because it gives us lots of money to buy lots of junk with that ties us down and makes my life to misery😡😡
Mingyur rainbow body boy . Two sides of one coin. Dukka dissatisfaction. Be happy go to the rainbow. Pain you choose stress you choose ignorant and obscuration is like veil in front of your truth. You need to get in the mud to get to the Eagles nest. Free from suffering? What are the steps? So we don't do clay work? This is basically wisdom 5 steps can you find someone you hate?
This bruh look like an Asian Anderson Silva
Dukha
Thank you
