  • In this video, I'm comparing the sound signatures of the Dead Air Nomad-LT and the new Otter Creek Labs Hydrogen-L suppressors.
The Dead Air Nomad-LT is the same as the regular Nomad-L, but is made of solid titanium so it's extremely lightweight. It is a 8.5" long x 1.735" OD suppressor made from solid titanium. It features universal HUB mount threads to accept any 1.375x24 mounting system. It has a 12.5" minimum barrel length and it is NOT full-auto rated, and is rated for up to .300 Norma Mag.
The Hydrogen-L (7.62 version) is a 9" long x 1.625" OD suppressor made of solid titanium and weighing a mere 12.4 oz without a mount. It has HUB 1.375x24 universal mount threads to allow you to use just about any mounting system you want/already have. It is LIMITED full-auto rated up to 800ºF, then let it cool down before using it again. And it does have certain barrel length restrictions that are listed on their website, linked below. And, according to their website, was tested to be a hearing-safe 130 dB on a 16” 308, with a BK 2209 sound meter.
In this video I am shooting them on my custom built 16" .300 Blackout AR15. I built it using top-tier components about 10 years ago, and it has been a trooper ever since. Not a single issue in thousands of rounds. It has a Spikes Tactical upper, lower, and M16 bolt carrier, with a Rainier Arms Match bolt, Select Series .300 BLK barrel w/ 1:8.5 twist and polygonal rifling, Rainier Arms Force 15" handgaurd. A Rise Armament 434 trigger w/ KNS Precision pins. An Ergo Suregrip. And last year I upgraded it with a Vortex Strike Eagle 1-8x24 LPVO in a Vortex CM-202 mount.
I get all of my suppressors, tax stamps, and trusts through Silencer Shop.

Almost went with thunder beast until I saw a deal I couldn’t pass on an OCL Hydrogen S 6.5. Guess I will have to get an additional Thunder beast ultra gen 2 in 30 cal for my next suppressor

If you’re going for maximum quietness, the TBAC Magnus, OCL Hydrogen-L 7.62, or DA Nomad-LT are all in the top 5 best .30 caliber cans on the market. If you like your Hydro-S 6.5mm, you will love the Hydro-S 7.62 or Hydro-L 7.62. 👍🏼
I just got a Hydro-S 6.5mm as well, but mine is a 1-off custom that was sprayed with FDE finish instead of black, for them to test the color to see how they looked. They don’t currently offer Hydrogens in anything but black, but maybe they will offer more color options in the future? 🤷🏼
My next video will be comparing the Hydro-S 6.5 vs. the Hydro-S 7.62 in my .260 Rem. I think you’ll enjoy that video, so stick around. 😏👍🏼

@@TroyPosey how’s POI shift? That’s the main reason why I was looking at TBAC.

@@mexicangator With my rifles, It’s honestly not bad at all. If you’re running a heavy barrel, or a carbon fiber barrel like a Proof or Christensen, then you’ll notice it being less than an inch. You can basically Zero with the can, and still hunt with it without, out to 400-500 yards without issue.

    Both sound very quiet

They are...Extremely quiet. The only noise you can hear behind the trigger is the action cycling. You don't hear anything coming from the muzzle end...Maybe a small pop sound like a BB gun.

      Which one was the quietest?

@@juanthelawnmowerthief1641 Honestly… 6 in one hand, half-dozen in the other… They’re both the same with subs on a .300 BLK. On supersonic cartridges, they’re pretty much equals, as well.
I will say this, I love my Nomad-LT, but I do get slightly more POI shift with it, when going from suppressed to unsuppressed. My OCL Hydrogen cans don’t have hardly any POI shift at all. Not only that, but there is also virtually no POI shift between my Hydrogen-S and my Hydrogen-L. That shows extreme concentricity between the 2 different models. I guess that’s the difference between small-batch vs. mass-production.
You would be happy with either one. I will be running the Hydrogen-L exclusively on my hunting rifles because of how light and quiet it is. 👍🏼
