The only thing bad I know of Jon Lord is how he (along with other bandmates) destroyed the life of band mate and Deep Purple founder Rod Evans suing him for 600k pounds
I don't know if this is the first song of this concert, but I love the look on the drummer's face at 0:16 after the keyboard starts; like he can't believe he's on the same stage as Jon Lord and about to jam with him.
You got that right. I’m 64 and grew up in that era listening to my favorites starting with Deep Purple, Yes, Uriah Heep and ELP among others. I’m a keyboard player and own a Hammond XK5 which is awesome and still play these bands tunes in the clubs here in Florida.
Sad to learn about his passing away just now. Jon Lord and the magnificent Deep Purple always took it to a higher place. Saw them in '74,we were deaf for an hour afterwards but had just had the greatest concert experience for that year and more.Thx for the music !
The whole concert is legendary. Blues classics played by Australian rock/blues musicians (including Rainbow/Ozzy alumni Bob Daisley) and Jon Lord as Lord of The Hammond
i hope, Jon Lord, Manzarek, Rick Wright. My all-time 3 favourite organ players playing together in Heaven now. The world today needs music from the 3 of you, so bad.
7:11 Looked like Jon Lord waited for Blackmore- and Paice-things for the ending :-) I'm still devastated the master of the Hammond is not among us anymore, his been all my childhood, teenage years and as an adult. Recuiescat in pace.
Sir John, i will thank you for saving and loosing like i did it by myself.... I am sure your know what it always ment for us in every way or no way your remember me to so much friends and adventures that were a better life to me than what i got in Germany .... And it is curious and somehow exiting for me to see your remembers me to the father and the man i lost in the same way.... Your seem to have something from both..... In memory to hard times and unheard screams because of two towns and to lost friends in overtaken religions hospitals states and political buildings.... Take care of your horses.... And the sea.... The earth was never a deeper ocean than now... Always yours with a lot of tears in my eyes..... One lost.... Drop.. Thank u
Let that Hammond rip. Love the palm slide at 4:07. Took me years to figure out how to do that[back in the day] till I saw him live. My Zen-tone inspiration. Thanks, boss... -the Cheezer.
How nice to hear these eternal myths of music... aaa I know I should not say, appearing pessimistic, butmusic remains if there are men who create it, that fill the world of wonderful... and in recent decades ... never mind ... RIP John a big hug
Hi Bob, When I saw the original video from the Basement I was bowled over. So good to see more material. The man was a hero and to know that his mates are publishing this stuff now is marvellous. Good on yer. Terry
the very heart of Deep Purple, the glue that kept it all together! You're missed everyday John, God bless you!
A keyboard king, father of hard rock, unbelievable virtuoso, RIP our dear John!
One of the best Hammond Organ players and from the looks of it a pretty decent human being dead at age 71. RIP Jon your music will live forever!!!!
The only thing bad I know of Jon Lord is how he (along with other bandmates) destroyed the life of band mate and Deep Purple founder Rod Evans suing him for 600k pounds

Probably the most all round versatile keyboard player that has ever lived. I am in awe! 😱🎹👍
He was the best keyboard player of all time. R.I.P. John!
7 minutes of pure musical pleasure
The most inventive, original and absolute greatest rock keyboardist ever! Without Jon there was no deep purple. Godspeed Jon, I truly miss you.
“Are we off then, lads?”
John (yes, John) Douglas Lord.
Leicester’s finest and much missed.
I grew up on this kind of music and I am grateful for sharing.
The genius, the hammond, the master. Mr Lord, we love you here and in heaven
The genius of Martin Birch, getting the Hammond to play through a Marshall Amp.
I don't know if this is the first song of this concert, but I love the look on the drummer's face at 0:16 after the keyboard starts; like he can't believe he's on the same stage as Jon Lord and about to jam with him.
RIP Jon A True Legend and one of the Greats
He is THE Lord, no question.
Wow, greatest keys master of all time, jon lord!!! He lives on forever, jamming on a massive hammond in another realm..
The hammond was every bit as influential as any rock n roll guitar during the 70's. The Hammond is the sound of rock of that era! A fat sound!
You got that right. I’m 64 and grew up in that era listening to my favorites starting with Deep Purple, Yes, Uriah Heep and ELP among others. I’m a keyboard player and own a Hammond XK5 which is awesome and still play these bands tunes in the clubs here in Florida.
I used to be in a band and i always said our style was Hammond-Rock.

good for you to be able to afford an xk5.
I can't even afford the single manual xb2 in the 90s when it came out😢😂😢😂
Jon Lord didn't die. He just stopped living for a while. At the End, The Lord will return, playing the Hammond...
Amen
Yeah... I know
The Second Coming of The Lord.
Good God, what I'm prepared to give to go back a few years and watch this live...
I started playing Hammond organ because of this man.
Late great Jimmy Smith and Booker T Jones here; John became a quick inspiration once I started getting more into Hammond you can bet you backside!
Finally a guitarist who plays less and achieves more with it.
what an amazing musician! He will be in my heart for ever!
The growl of that organ in the opening.....(I turn to jelly & melt away)....
A decade late and trust me. You’re not the only one. I’m pretty sure my knees gave out.
That warm Hammond sound never gets old.
So grateful man for this great tune you uploaded. ...👏
There will never be another like him...a wonderfully tallnted Musician! R.I.P. John
without Jon, there will never be the true DEEP PURPLE, ever again . R.I.P. MY BROTHER!
& without Ritchie Blackmore !☝️
Sad to learn about his passing away just now. Jon Lord and the magnificent Deep Purple always took it to a higher place. Saw them in '74,we were deaf for an hour afterwards but had just had the greatest concert experience for that year and more.Thx for the music !

Jon Lord - the best "organ face'.

genius at work
Just ordered Sarabande by Jon Lord on vinyl and cd. One of my all-time favourite pieces of music.
He even autographed one of my earlier copies.
No one rocks a Hammond better than Mr. Lord. Get well soon, sir.
This feels grim to read in 2023. RIP Jon 🤘🏻
so much talent in those finger its frightening.
Ineguagliabile e geniale, Jon Lord.
Jon Lord: the Master of keyboard!
the man,the myth, the legend...
the soul, the sound!
I cried when I heard he was gone.
Yeah, me too. What a terrible loss, much too early. Taken away by f***ing cancer.
RIP,Lord...
