People talk about blackmore, but the real d.purple genius, the brain behind all that greatness was jon lord, specially live. These mix between jazzy chords and harmonies with classical in minor toned, these dissonant things were the cream of 20th century music. Along with manzarek, are top 10
@@beawsbiz and his classic heritage aren't simply reprodutions of sacra- music. NO! there's a lot of persian-arabic and eastern European things there. THIS is so rock n roll cause he reunites all the kinds of "music against the establishment" of all-times until 2nd half of the 20th century!! This is heavieness!!!!
Jon was not only one of the best rock organists, but a serious classical & contemporary composer & musician. I love the breadth & depth of his play, he was one of the hidden geniuses of our time. I am humbled and honoured to have been experiencing him several times - unforgettable.
R.I.P. Jhon Lord, was one of the best organists in the universe. A true reincarnation of J.S.B. We will always remember you with the eternal Deep Purple.
You're so right. He was the first rock musician who mixed rock with classical music. Watch ruclips.net/video/Od95KRjPat0/видео.html Amazing. Written by Him.
Bach wouldn’t cry! He would be pleased that Lord is finally one of the few people understanding structures and harmonies of Bachs work. Proof: his recomposing in this quality ❤
I love my Jon Lord, I saw him with Purple in Philly a week or so after this - facing the crowd, he had keys to both sides, playing both at once - like it was nothing!
I remember this being shown on German telly, Eberhard Schoener with his more than bizarre hair cut and the old piss head Ashton for a singer (shown here playing piano with one thumb) I was so in stitches when Jon told the story about getting Tony Ashton off the booze and dry - then they found out he was total shit when he was sober and they gave up...
Thanks for your comment. I already felt that something sounded off but I couldn't name it. Unbelievable, what a silly mistake! Still, it surprises me that it's the orchestra which isn't in tune and that the musicians themselves didn't realise it - neither the classical ones (!) nor the others, especially Jon.
I’m guessing it could be the orchestras fault. If Jon Lords electronic instruments can’t be retuned or is hardest to retune then surely they should tune to him.
I read a bunch of guys who thinks they´re eminence in classical music...sorry for them. Jon Lord was the one who brought classical music to more than one generation, including me at my 41´s, as a big fan of Deep Purple i am since i was 15. So shut your mouth you "classical eminences" and enjoy every note the best keyboardist and musician of all times left to us.
As always the German television gives a perfect audio mix for the classical musicians. Very good. Sadly they don't know how to combine and balance this with the modern, electronically amplified musicians. No effort has obviously gone in that which is a shame and disrespect. Except for the horrific audio result it is very nice to see Pete York, Eberhard Schoener, Glenn Hughes and Jon Lord at work: A unique gathering and event.
Jon Lord. Rock Müziğine PİYANO, PİYANO/ORG (Klavyeli Çalgı) KAZANDIRIP gittin... Hala yerin doldurulamadı... Bir gün doldurarak peşinden gelenler olduğunda bıraktığın eserini kazanmış olacağız. Allah'ın melekleri senle olsun...

YES, Deep Purple, particularly under Jon Lord’s stewardship explored dissonance that none of their contemporary’s did.

Yes...and Jon Lord was argentinian
@@theloniousmonk81 what?! Jon Lord is Brasilian, From Ceará state.
I had no idea of this trivia and heritage of JL going back in his heritage. Wow! Cool!

RIP🙏🙏🙏
He & Keith Emerson were friends & admirers of each other.True musicians, true brilliance.
Lord went Arp. Emerson went Moog.
He was also close with Rick Wakeman and Rick, Keith, and Jon are the holy trinity of rock keys
LORD ... The BEST
Excelente.

Jon Lord was a genius! I have all his albums, with and w/o Deep Purple.

He IS and was the best keyboarder ! Who can say without shame: my name is Rick Emerson ?
Very, very good, Janice. Twenty years ago I went to a Deep Purple concert, in Lisbon. It was really good!!

Wonderful stuff! Should be as well known as the Concerto. Bought the vinyl back in the day...on the Purple label.
Beautiful and Inspiring Thank you so much!
when the drums kick in at the 6:30 mark, it sounds like driving part in Stormbringer
really
yes..but when I heard it first time it was like part of bass line in highway star intro
Brilliant.
Jesus christ that's just incredible!
6:39 timpanist playing like he's waited his whole life for this moment!
An unfinished fugue? This is Contrapunctus 14 from The Art of Fugue and J.S. Bach would scream!
Bach wouldn’t cry! He would be pleased that Lord is finally one of the few people understanding structures and harmonies of Bachs work. Proof: his recomposing in this quality ❤
Beautiful !
A perfect example of the sublime & the ridiculous. Perfect harmony, & anarchistic cacophony.
That is true!
0:33 the blond guy with that hair style..........hahaha. My God it made my day.
It were the seventies,,,
We used to call it "Prince Valiant" hairdo..

Glenn Hughes on Bass!
Jon is my hero!
Greatest musician who ever lived!
The timpanist must have had the best day of his musical life.🙂
Stupendo
very nice fugue
LOrd did more to popularise classical music in the last 50 years than any other composer, yet they refuse to play his music at The Proms. F'n snobs.
I love my Jon Lord, I saw him with Purple in Philly a week or so after this - facing the crowd, he had keys to both sides, playing both at once - like it was nothing!
And Glenn Hughes is presaging Stormbringer!
@Bass mike Jon always sounded great great making everyone else sound great - a rare quality!

OMG!!! They forgot to tune the orchestra with the group! They are playing A= 443, and the group A= 440. Common....but nice piece, John was a genius
oh dear! something is, indeed, not quite right. :-(
rick van der linden wouldnt have tolerated this ! :-)

Excellent.Just one thing...the trumpet solo ..squeaky at times
Gillispies´ trumpet model = )
Named under "Windows" I remeber this concert. It was broadcasted in german TV - not easy to listen! I was 16.
Bach was a Genius too...
So was Jon Lord
Those hairstyles...it's hard to believe that was popular at one point!
heat death of the J.S.Bach universe

the orchestra gets out of tune, as soon the hammond gets in...
The fateful year or the band separates, Ian Paice cruelly misses, thanks the Bavarian TV, jon Lord and Bach
Don’t forget to mention the third but not last as only survivor from the trio Mr Rick Wakeman
well ... done
Whau Jon Lord the best Hammondorgel player

By the way, I prefer Heitor Villalobos ' "Batucada brasileira" as an imitation of Bach rather than this invention of Lord which meanders to nowhere.
