I'm trying to decide whether to install an oil to gas conversion burner or have a new gas boiler and hot water heater. I have a tankless steam boiler, that is less than 10 years old, it is a rental house that has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. Any recommendations?
don't you have a cheat sheet for options to lower CO and what to do if CO2 goes out of range or O2 goes out of range .... When you lowered the air to try raise the CO2 and the CO went high, I thought you would have lowered the fuel supply to lean it out allowing the CO to drop.. am I missing something? It seems to me that fuel supply is another adjustment to consider.
Always adjust gas equipment by O2 do not rely on your seat yet to reading it is a mirage because your analyzer does not have a CO2 sensor it only has 02 sensor also on this old boiler might've been a good idea to do over fire rating a lot of times I do this on old boiler is because of draft leak. Big cause for old oil boilers sooting over fire and breech readings differ. More accurate
i have this same burner but it keeps going out on flame rod failure, but i clean the rod and it will work then when it calls for heat again it locks out. please i need some help in the NYC area
vr6con is the boiler clean, chimney ect, do you have a good draft over the fire??? you might have a bad flame rod.clean it good with sand paper .i would check for good wire connections also.
Steve I admire your work and usually just watch your videos. But I have 3 concerns here... Why is there a reducer on that flue pipe? Why stay with the barometric damper (not required for the Carlin burners)? Draft should be adjusted to proper level before combustion analysis is performed. Your o2 and CO2 would've changed going from no draft to positive. Otherwise keep up the great work.
Juan Cuervo you have a good point about the draft....this guy needs a new system, boiler .. the barametric damper is reqiured by code in my state.the one for gas swings both ways .the one for oil only goes it .
Great job and video like always
I learn something form everyone of your videos Steve!!

and the good thing is that he can get a new oil boiler less burner and swap that one in amd have a more efficient wet base design
bassman34516 good point .
very handy tool ,nice fix
Bernard Sobbe thanks man

This is why I like the new BECKETT CG4 .
can that cg4 be installed on appliances not listed in their guide? Thanks
Very good very nice Steve good work
+Raymond Flores thanks for the comment
Your draft value is still not reading ? Is the probe blocked ?

Why would they mandate an atmospheric damper if a burner is designed to run without one?
Excellent vid, thanks again Steve.

Kestrel thanks for watching ken
carlin E Z 1 gas conversion burner testo 320 in action
did you run a separate gas line. just for the new gas gun itself?.
WHo knows how big they drilled out the orifice You would have to clock the meter to see if its overfired. Cant imagine it passed onspection
Al Gregory it was a bit off for sure
thanks good job
