      I hope you see this. I've learned that high porosity causes tangles because the hair can't hold moisture. It's important to first moisturize then seal it. I'm new to taking care of my high porosity hair so i can't remember what products seal it. But I'm sure you can look it up.

    I've heard that using a curl spray can help redefine your waves. Curl spray is a lot better than adding additional product into your hair, since it is lightweight and adding any additional product straightens out your curls/waves. When using it, just spray it onto your hair and scrunch your hair. I hope this helps 😊💖

      Same! I used to have thick long hair (somewhat wavy) but I followed a straight hair routine all my life. Regular oiling (barely, but still) shampoo, and conditioner. Then I got covid and something changed. I lost hair like trees shedding leaves in autumn. It has been a disaster for a year. My hair is too thin and a lot wavier. For six months I've been struggling with frizz and doing all sorts of things. If nothing works, I straighten them up even after knowing that heat will cause more damage.
      Then I came across this internet section that has devoted itself to enlightening people like me about wavy and curly hair. I am now excited to use these methods and see if it works for me.

    Your hair has gotten so long! It looks so good. As someone with super curly hair who tends to get knots at the nape of the neck, silk or satin scrunchies in addition to a silk or satin pillowcase have been a game changer for me. I will wear my hair in a loose ponytail or bun with the scrunchie and my hair stays in place while I sleep because I typically toss and turn in the night.

    I used to have super tangly hair too! Deep conditioning helped a ton, but I think a leave-in conditioner was the big game changer for me. I put it on when my hair is soaking wet and scrunch it in for distribution before combing/brushing/finger detangling. You could also try putting your hair up in a “pineapple” when you sleep to minimize tangles too.

    I also have wavy hair and it took me MONTHS to actively experiment with different products and hair routine. Wash days are also my best hair days, but I figured out how to keep my waves fresh on day 2!
    To answer your question, I pull my hair up before I lie on my pillow. I realize my waves get frizzy and tangly overnight bc of all the friction and movement of my hair against my pillow and especially the nape of my neck. I used to braid before bed, but I’ve found that this method is the best for keeping my waves looking natural and as close to Day 1 hair as possible. It’s such a simple fix that I do as a force of habit now! (And if they’re still looking kinda limp, I spray with water and scrunch :) same!)

    Your hair is absolutely beautiful but as a fellow wavy girl, I wanted to share some advice. Brushing when wet can be super damaging for our hair type. For curly/coily girls, it's actually better for them that way, but for straight/wavy girls, the hair is less prone to breakage if it's brushed when dry. I, personally, like to detangle right before I wash my hair because it helps to detangle and the frizziness is just temporary.

Then I co-wash with a very light mask (like using cleansing oil to remove make up), making sure to remove all the oil, and then put conditioner. Beautiful hair!! Definitely get yourself a microfiber towel. And you should try drying your hair with a diffuser on a blow dryer! You can flip upside down and diffuse to get volume at the roots, and using the diffuser on the lengths will give you bouncier waves. And it’s still gentle on your hair if you don’t go above like a medium heat setting.

    I have 2a/2b hair and I use gel instead of mousse (nym curl talk gel is water based so it's pretty light and doesn't create a cast - just don't put too much) but to refresh I: brush my hair in the morning (if it's really tangled) and then section top & bottom and just spray with water and scrunch it up. I'll scrunch it with a microfiber towel or old shirt after (like she did in the video) and then let it air-dry. I also use Pacifica's curl defining cream on wash day. it says for wavy/curly hair and it smells soooo good (like pineapples). it's the first cream I've found that doesn't weight my hair down or make it oily so that's really nice.

    I have super curly hair, and if you're having problems getting your hair to dry in a timely manner, you should try a hair dryer with a diffuser attatchment. If I were to use a regular hair dryer on my hair it would be a frizzy disaster, but with a diffuser on the end I'm able to get my hair dry without breaking up the curls. i’ve been starting to sleep with a silk cap. a silk pillow case will do the same but when i don’t use my cap, my hair is more frizzy and you can tell the products i put in it faded. whereas when i sleep with it, my hair looks extra hydrated because no products escaped & there’s less frizz and it just looks really healthy!

    My hair is so similar to yours! I have to mostly leave mine alone after I shampoo & condition or it’ll get weird... then when it’s dry I’ll touch up some spots with my wave iron.

    Okay, so first i really like this video because it is just kind of messy/normal which is for me near the reality, but i actually just wanna drop a sleep hair style. My hair is pretty much like yours, so maby it will work: You have to look into what direction you waves go and then twist your hair in this direction and put it up in a high kind of bun. This helps me to protect and define my waves and it also gives a bit of volume because you have your hair up. Hope it helps 😊👍

    For women with 2b-2c waves, I have a good refresh routine for you!
    Fill a bottle with conditioner and water, mix, and spray it all over your hair. ( i recommend a spray bottle that mists)
    Add a little bit of your go-to styling product and some of your fave hair oil.
    Flip around a bit and let air dry. :) Hope this helps!

      @@hopegleich740 okay thank you ❤️. I have wavy and frizzy hair when i wash and turn straight after 2 days. I’ll try this method. I have also been trying reverse shampooing. It’s giving good results so far.

      Please, can i ask you? Do you just spray it all over your hair, or just ends? And then you scrunch it or just leave it as it is without touching? Sorry for any english mistakes tho

    • @hopegleich740
      @hopegleich740 2 года назад

      No worries! I spray it thoroughly all over my hair including the top, until it’s damp but not wet, don’t be afraid of the water, and then scrunch the products in and smooth the oil. I use very little product tho

    Im so glad I found this video! All of the things you were saying about your hair, happen to mine too. I don’t know if you’ve already tried it or not, but I’d recommend a Kristen ess shampoo. It’s not quite drugstore, but it’s 20 for a liter of product at ulta if there’s one by you and they have a website.

    You mentioned that the mousse doesn't make your hair crunchy. A product giving your hair a "cast" is actually a good thing and is what will help your waves last past wash day. The cast can be broken by scrunching your hair when it is fully dry. You might try two things: (1) making sure to get some of that mousse at your roots to help with volume and (2) using a gel over the mousse to give your waves more hold, definition, and shine.

    • @ttjnaaa
      @ttjnaaa 3 года назад +20

      I have 2a wavy hair and actually made the experience, that "casting" products weight my thin hair down and make it look like spaghetti. So I also prefer light mousse that does not form a cast.

    • @CJ_536
      @CJ_536 5 месяцев назад

      I am just exploring but I concur. My hair is 2a with maybe a patch of 2b and it gets weighed down easy. The cast jeeps the shape longer but then my hair feels awful and it looks worse by end of day. If I don't have a cast the pattern is far looser but it looks good longer. Those of us with very loose patterns look best when we embrace the looseness.

    Hi!! my hair is like yours and for the waves to last longer I use gelatin / gel for curly hair, a little bit when kneading is enough. I hope that helps you!!!

    Hey Sarah, first time watching your videos. You are really pretty. I have relatively wavy asian black hair. Mix of 1c & 2a hair type. So its straight on the top & it gets wavy at the bottom. I use a light weight hair oil instead of mouse. Because my hair tangles & is naturally dry. I sleep with silk pillow cases & I don't refresh or re-wet my hair the next day. For my case it looks better, or if its gets dry from air conditioner I'd use alittle more of the hair oil.

    I had straight hair since I was a kid...like literally straight..but then as I turned 16-17 I noticed that it's getting a little curly but then I realised it's not really curly but wavy and I didn't know how to deal with them.. I spent a lot of time thinking that it could be straight again... everybody in my family mostly has curly hair..so I figured may be it's genetics or something..now I am finally figuring out a way to deal with them 🙌😊
