I have been at this wavy girl journey for 3 years. I have watched tons of videos and have never seen anyone comb their hair the shower, not upside down! I’m totally trying that! Thanks for teaching me something new :) your hair is gorgeous!
My hair is EXTREMELY similar to yours but it wasn’t always like this. In fact, when I was younger my hair was pin straight. A year or two ago my hair became slightly wavy but nothing too crazy but after getting my period my hair went CURLY. I currently use Dove’s wavy hair shampoo, a conditioner made for all hair types, and Cantù curl cream. After doing this I put my hair into a loose bun and after a few hours I let my hair down and it looks beautiful but I can’t maintain this level of beauty to my hair for very long. Over time my curls begin to loosen and the day I don’t wash my hair it looks messy. I’m stuck in this cycle and I just can’t seem to break it. After I wash and dry my hair it’s great but the next day it’s awful. What would you advise? (I apologize for the long comment.)
Girl, same. When I was younger, it wouldn’t stay wavy when I curled it and it would always stay pin straight but after my period it was like super wavy in the front and like weirdly wavy in the back.
First of all - I want to normalize non-wash day hair imperfections. It’s okay if your hair doesn’t look as beautiful the next day. I do have some tips though for you: 1) use a gel or mousse after applying the cream. The cream/leave-in conditioner tames frizz but leaves nothing to help hold the style. 2) use a little bit of heat while drying your hair. Helps to set the style and gives more longevity. 3) when sleeping, put your hair in a very loose bun or silk/satin hair cap. Use a silk or satin pillow case if you don’t use a hair cap. These tips work for me but I’ve stopped expecting perfect waves/curls and have adapted to learn how to braid my hair/style it in other ways I like on bad hair days. Good luck!
im not sure how old you are, but for my mom and i our hair type is very affected by hormones!! my hair didn’t get curly until puberty and neither did hers, and when my mom was pregnant and going thru menopause it lose its curl. this might be part of it for you too!!
I do so wish there was a way to manage waves/curls without so much product, and, on the odd day I actually sometimes miraculously end up with some strong waves and minimal frizz but it's a toss up as to what happened for it to be that way and aside from shampoo and conditioner, I don't use any product so its very confusing! But I'm glad to see a routine like this, quite a few products but not a LOT of each. Definitely worth trying, as 99% of the time my hair is just a mess of frizz.
Ive been trying to figure out my hair for the longest :( this honestly is so helpful finally seeing this hair type. Please make more videos, I’m looking forward to them
i rlly needed this .. when i was younger i had a full head of beautiful curly hair especially when i was a toddler . as i got older , my parents made me use a ton of hair lightener in my hair during the summer time which damaged my hair a ton. i also started to straighten my hair a lot more which rlly fried my hair. its now years later and now my hair is no longer that curly. its at most a little bit wavy, but mostly straight due to all of the damage. im trying my best to revive my natural hair type even if its not as curly as it used to be when i was younger so i find this video so helpful. thank u sm! thank u for the product recommendations aswell.
Definitely going to try. I noticed after my second pregnancy that my hair is getting more texture to it and I want to try to bring it out as much as I can!
25 y.o here. Have always straightened my hair since middle school cuz I had no idea what to do with it/how to "tame it." Mom wasn't much help either as we have the same hair texture and she's pretty much as clueless as me xD Since the beginning of this year tho it's hit me that I have a certain hair texture and all my life I've been using products for straight hair. Stopped straightening my hair about 6 months ago to let it recover after years of damage and have slowly been trying new hair products that fit my hair. It's slowly working! The waves have been forming slowly and getting more prominent! Will definitely try your advice and tips, thanks lots!
Same thing happened with me! I watched the curly hair videos but my hair is not so curly like i have a few curls here and there but its mostly wavy and this video feels like it would help me. Thank you so much!❤
Damn, RUclips must know what I look like bc it recommended this video and this is literally my hair type! I even have a couple of these products, I just didn’t know the best way/order to use them. This is so helpful thank you!!!
Wow we literally have the same hair texture! I'm going to try using an oil/leave-in conditioner before hold products. My biggest issue is that my day 2 hair is EXTREMELY knotted and frizzy and dry no matter what.
I used to use shea moisture's Coconut Hibiscus Curl & Shine shampoo & conditioner and it is actually a good product and worked well but I wanted to find something more catered to wavy, frizzy hair so I did some research on other shea moisture products (cuz their stuff is really good and has so many options) and found the Papaya & Neroli All Day Frizz Control shampoo and conditioner for wavy, curly hair and they work really well. I do see a little bit of difference from when I used the curl & shine, the frizz is definitely much reduced and another nice thing about it is that while the shampoo is sulfate-free the conditioner isn't so it's kind of a nice balance, and helps prevent too much build-up without stripping too much moisture from your hair. I also use the All Day Frizz Control Milk Gel after my shower and that just adds some extra frizz protection, they also have the option of just straight-up gel instead of "milk gel" which is probably a little heavier if you prefer that. Both the gel and milk gel are used as primers before layering on style products and while I'm just using the Curl & Shine style milk, you could also use the mousse which is lighter if that works better for you. So yea if you're interested and have wavy, frizzy I definitely recommend trying out those products and you can just follow along with the process she used in the video but with these particular products. I know it's kind of difficult to find products for type 2 hair because a lot of stuff is specifically either for straight or curly hair so finding products that are better for hair that's in between can be a bit of a process so I just wanted to put those products out there for anyone trying to figure out how to manage their hair. I know it might not work for everyone because ppl with type 2 hair can still have different hair textures but it's still worth a shot. Good luck! :) Some other shea moisture products for wavy hair: -Fruit Fusion Coconut Water Weightless Hair Masque for fine, wavy, & curly hair -Argan Oil & Almond Milk Smooth & Tame shampoo & conditioner for fine, frizzy, straight, & wavy hair *I definitely don't want you to feel like you HAVE to use shea moisture for your hair to be well maintained, it's just my personal favorite and hasn't done me wrong so far but there are definitely other brands out there that work just as well!
I’m so glad you made this video. I feel like I’ve run into so many mistakes with my hair texture with no help with frizz or maintenance. This video was very clear and gave me some ideas of product that could help.
Thank you , I have hair strands that looks the same as your hair and I thought that it was strait , but after seeing you I think it is not 😅 now I know how to take care of it
this is going to help so much! people always tell me that my hair is wavy and it would look so much wavier if I took care of it and used products but idk how😭😭 so thank you!!!
Doesn’t work for everyone since people with thick/tangle prone hair will get major breakage. It’s best for most hair types to detangle in the shower with conditioner
@@alexmunch9275 Yes ofc, textured hair usually is on the thinner side, specially some wavies (or atleast me and my wavy pals) but I’d rather brush it dry to prevent my hair from getting floppy and for waves to clump easily
@HI HEY HELLO Lit, I feel the same way about brushing them. Only when my hair is oily and I have to wash it soon is it that it looks fine after combing it (like less frizzy but really puffy, which I kind of like sometimes).
I’ve been searching up videos on how to fix my wavy hair since mine used to look like that but now it’s more straight with a bit of waves here and there and I made it worse by brushing it in the morning and then it becomes all frizzed and puffy- worse since it’s thick, so glad we basically have the same hair type I will be trying this out, I just miss my old hair 😭
Bro you are blessed. I WISH my hair was that wavy, loose wavy and not like my curls which I HATE!! If my hair was your texture life would be SOOOO tolerable. I love your hair!!
before keramas 1. hair oil mora antifrizz 2. hair mask cbd after keramas 1. oil sahaja 2. leave in conditioner 3. curl gel 4. curl mousse 5. plopping method
I definitely LOVED your hair!! I'm from Brazil and here we have a lot of curly and wavy hair and it's so beautiful see other people doing their routine, keep going 💕
This was really helpful!! I've been struggling with how to style my wavy hair and this gave me motivation to keep trying. Would you consider making a video on how you sleep without ruining or frizzing up the waves?
i have a solid routine down, but my hair is so EXTREMELY frizzy, it's seriously not normal anymore. i am starting to think my hair doesn't like protein or glycerin though
I’ve literally been thinking the same thing. Like my routine is good, and my waves/curls are defined, but it gets SO frizzy and I can’t figure out why! None of my products are helping, and it didn’t use to be like that. Have you tried anything new since making this comment?
@@emilyellerbe5363 do you clarify your hair? If you use products on your hair like leave-ins and gel it suffocates your hair overtime as more gets added on. This doesn’t allow moisture in your hair and it gets dry and brittle. This can be fixed by a clarifying shampoo and then deep condition. If you do clarify it could be that you just need to deep condition more
Y’all this is just *THEIR* curly hair routine, it’s not going to be the same results for everyone, each curl/wave type is different & then I’ll respond differently. A reminder that trying different routines and products + doing lots of research & getting to know your hair is a part of the journey ! Your hair will have different seasons during different phases of your life & that’s normal 🫶🏽!!!!!!!!!!!!!!’ + also def do research on hair perosity
The best trick for wavy hair is to NOT BRUSH or comb it! Seriously took me 35 years to figure that out. Wondering if you have tried it as this is my first video of yours. Good recommendations, Thank You!
I've seen some people comment here asking but not sure if you're still reading comments. How do you prep your hair when you're sleeping? I always wake up with flat, frizzy hair despite going to bed with waves. :( On another note: Definitely going to try some of these products!!
omg this is SO HELPFUL thank you!!! i have thick curly/wavy hair it’s a very annoying type of hair because it goes v curly then flattens out into waves i’m having a shower tonight so i’ll play around with your method and see what works for me:) btw i’m actually so glad u use the same shampoo and conditioner as me like at least i’m getting that bit right so far haha
I'm glad I found this. I tried the curly girl method and it made my hair look atrocious. It's limp, stringy, and frizzy. I don't know what to do. I'm getting really discouraged, and I'm on the verge of just going back to using a flat iron. I've never felt so úgIy in my life as I do now.
My hair is like yours but thinner. I do keratin to keep them frizz, it makes my hair look more thinner. Now I should try these steps and maintain my curls. Thanks for the video
loved the video and will definitely be doing this soon! but my question is what you do when you sleep and like in the morniing when it maybe tangled :)
This is amazing I’ve been looking for a way to style my hair just wavy because my partner and i like it in addition to more curly and i’m going to try this!
i heard of wet plopping, its where you plop your hair wet in a shower cap before plopping with a tshirt which lets the product absorb. i havent tried it but people get great results from it!
Soaking wet hair weighs down my hair. I wash with co wash, I use a watered down leave in. Scrunch up and remove excess water and then I spray with my watered down leave in, and add a gel, two separate “layers” of hair top and bottom , or else the bottom weighs down the top and I am left with no waves. But yea ! DAMP styling and egg mask every now and then for the protein. Don’t overload on moisture.
okayyy and to be fair her hair is so smooth naturally, genetics play a huge role guys so dont try her method and wonder why ur hair isnt like hers.. if you're indian watching this, our curly hair type is much different from east asian hair, its thicker and prone to frizz, so look at how to control that
So nice to see a type 2a-b routine. Even when I look up "Wavy hair" it's always 2c waves or they use the bowl method 😮💨 nothing wrong with it, my hair just doesn't like it. Also do you brush out your hair at all after drying? I just don't understand how some wavies don't brush it AT ALL, my hair will look so stringy if I don't
girl I have the same problem! It kindof sucks but at the end of the day I'm just learning to love my hair as it grows. Sometimes pinning back the front with clips helps too!
same!it helps if you get layers or you can try finger rolling and clipping up the straight pieces while they dry to make them blend in with the bottom layers
Loved the video, am definately going to try your techniques and the products you reccomended. Question: how long do you have to let the product sit before you put on the t-shirt?
You're so cute! I have some of the products you do. My favorite so far that you didn't mention is the Marc Anthony Coconut & Shea Nourishing Curl Cream. It leaves my hair feeling natural while still making my curls and waves pop. It also smells amazing! I've recently started embracing my wavy hair rather than fight with it, which I've done my whole life. I'm only a month in with it. What I'm confused about is what to do with my hair on days I don't wash. Do I keep adding product each day after I shower, or do I rely on the products I put in on wash day? I only need to wash once a week. I also need to know what to do with my hair when sleeping. The waves on the side I sleep on are noticeably more straight than the other side. Is there a secret I don't know about? All I see is videos for wavy/curly hair on wash day. Any suggestions would be much appreciated! Thank you!
I've always treated my hair as straight and it's always puffy and dry and absolutely unmanageable, but when it's wet it has waves and I can never look after it properly. I never find an effect that I like, they always seem wet or dry and frizzy (with mousse or gel). today I will try this drying method, I hope it works and I will find similar products in the future
i have straightened my hair every day for 2 years. i hate my natural hair. however, i want to go pink and i’m a brunette, so now i have to stay away from hot tools, and i’m here. pray for meee
Thank you, I have the same issues you described, so I defenitly will try your technique. and btw you look stunning and cute, even with the tshirt on the head 😄
your hair looks stunning, this vid might actually inspire me to try your techniques and I really hope it works the same for me. do you know what sort of words you'd describe your hair as, like in terms of density and porosity?
I’ve had straight hair my whole life… then in 2020 I got Covid pretty bad. Two months later a huge grip of my hair began to fall out. I’ve always had thick hair , and to watch handfuls fall out was difficult. I used zenagen hair growth products and my hair began to grow back in. Now 2022 I have VERY thick hair again ( probably thicker than before) , but it all grew back curly wavy so now I have to relearn how to take care of my hair . Thanks for your video. It was really helpful.
I love seeing people embracing their natural hair without actually them appropriating a hair pattern that isn't theirs 😅😅😅 thanks for calling your hair wavy, which it is and it looks gorgeous on you ❤

yeah mine is the same, never it looks the same lol everytime different waves
i NEEDED this. i have very wavy hair when it’s wet, but i feel like it’s always frizzy when it’s dry. i’m definitely trying this!!
And how it turned out? What do you do to avoid frizzy hair?
It's hard to completely avoid frizz but keeping your hair moisturized is really effective

I do have some tips though for you:
1) use a gel or mousse after applying the cream.
Good luck!
@@crimbleland Thanks for the advice ❤️
im not sure how old you are, but for my mom and i our hair type is very affected by hormones!! my hair didn’t get curly until puberty and neither did hers, and when my mom was pregnant and going thru menopause it lose its curl. this might be part of it for you too!!
cantu isnt a great product plz use other brands
Thank you so much. My hair is type 2 and no one talk about styling wavy hair. Curly routine didn’t come good with me ever! Thank you ❤️
my front/top parts of my hair are super curly/coily and the rest of my hair is wavy and i’m def gonna try this and see how it works for my hair!!
I’ve been using the shampoo you use for about a week and have been loving the way my hair looks! Will definitely be trying the other products too!
Please make more videos, I’m looking forward to them
this was so good. i think we have similar hair types so i am 100% going to try out some of your methods and products!!!
ahh thank you lmk how they work out for you!!
i rlly needed this .. when i was younger i had a full head of beautiful curly hair especially when i was a toddler . as i got older , my parents made me use a ton of hair lightener in my hair during the summer time which damaged my hair a ton. i also started to straighten my hair a lot more which rlly fried my hair. its now years later and now my hair is no longer that curly. its at most a little bit wavy, but mostly straight due to all of the damage.
im trying my best to revive my natural hair type even if its not as curly as it used to be when i was younger so i find this video so helpful. thank u sm! thank u for the product recommendations aswell.
Definitely going to try. I noticed after my second pregnancy that my hair is getting more texture to it and I want to try to bring it out as much as I can!
This is probably the first video I’ve seen with my hair type thank you this was really helpful. (:
My biggest issue is that my day 2 hair is EXTREMELY knotted and frizzy and dry no matter what.
try sleeping in a braid!
also you can brush your hair and just re wet or or buy a curl refresh spray lol
I have short wavy, frizzy and dry hair and wanted to have a hair care routine this helped me alot thank you!!
literally going to try this once i get a trim because i have such a hard time figuring out how to take care of my hair!
I’m so glad someone actually has my hair type I’m definitely trying this!!
ur hair looks sooooo pretty! i did not expect it to dry like that while seeing it wet lol
Good luck! :)
Some other shea moisture products for wavy hair:
-Fruit Fusion Coconut Water Weightless Hair Masque for fine, wavy, & curly hair
-Argan Oil & Almond Milk Smooth & Tame shampoo & conditioner for fine, frizzy, straight, & wavy hair
*I definitely don't want you to feel like you HAVE to use shea moisture for your hair to be well maintained, it's just my personal favorite and hasn't done me wrong so far but there are definitely other brands out there that work just as well!
Thank you so much ❤️❤️
Girl, I LOVE YOI
I’m so glad you made this video. I feel like I’ve run into so many mistakes with my hair texture with no help with frizz or maintenance.
This video was very clear and gave me some ideas of product that could help.
Thank you , I have hair strands that looks the same as your hair and I thought that it was strait , but after seeing you I think it is not 😅 now I know how to take care of it
PLEASE- you are so pretty 😩✋ also thanks for the tutorial I wish my hair would be less frizzy trying these tutorials
I'm gonna definitely try it ,as I'm tired of my fizzy hair "( . Thanks for sharing your routine ✨️
tht straight hair when ur hair is wet looks rly good on u like rly good
this is going to help so much! people always tell me that my hair is wavy and it would look so much wavier if I took care of it and used products but idk how😭😭 so thank you!!!
Love the affordable products thank you so much for this video🤍
Don´t brush it wet. Brush it before showering, that’ll help it clump and you’ll get spirally curls
Same@@alexmunch9275
omg your hair is SO PRETTY!!
I love your hair!!
before keramas
1. hair oil mora antifrizz
2. hair mask cbd
after keramas
1. oil sahaja
2. leave in conditioner
3. curl gel
4. curl mousse
5. plopping method
Would you consider making a video on how you sleep without ruining or frizzing up the waves?
your eyes your skinnnnn you just so gorgeoussssss
I have the same hair type as you and have been so lost in the world of styling. thank you so much for this
i have a solid routine down, but my hair is so EXTREMELY frizzy, it's seriously not normal anymore. i am starting to think my hair doesn't like protein or glycerin though
I’ve literally been thinking the same thing. Like my routine is good, and my waves/curls are defined, but it gets SO frizzy and I can’t figure out why! None of my products are helping, and it didn’t use to be like that. Have you tried anything new since making this comment?
@@emilyellerbe5363 that was only eight days ago hahah, so no. but if you figure something out, let me know
@@emilyellerbe5363 maybe your hair is saturated with product , try to wash it with sulfates
Your hair will have different seasons during different phases of your life & that’s normal 🫶🏽!!!!!!!!!!!!!!’
+ also def do research on hair perosity
Girl your hair looks like how mine drys so I ran so fast to the store and bought these productsssss. Wish me luck to bring my curls/ waves to life 🥹
How'd it go for you!??
The best trick for wavy hair is to NOT BRUSH or comb it! Seriously took me 35 years to figure that out. Wondering if you have tried it as this is my first video of yours. Good recommendations, Thank You!
I've seen some people comment here asking but not sure if you're still reading comments. How do you prep your hair when you're sleeping? I always wake up with flat, frizzy hair despite going to bed with waves. :(
On another note: Definitely going to try some of these products!!
Wow your hair is incredible! Will try!
This was great. Would love to hear your take on protein. Btw doesn’t the OGX oil contain silicones though?
the most beautiful hair i have ever seen 😮
OMG This is like the exact hair I have so glad I found you
omg this is SO HELPFUL thank you!!!
i have thick curly/wavy hair it’s a very annoying type of hair because it goes v curly then flattens out into waves
i’m having a shower tonight so i’ll play around with your method and see what works for me:)
btw i’m actually so glad u use the same shampoo and conditioner as me like at least i’m getting that bit right so far haha
Shampoo/conditioner: I figured out the same thing!! I prefer it to have sulfates but avoid silicones!
Love the part with your friends/roommates passing by
loved the video and will definitely be doing this soon! but my question is what you do when you sleep and like in the morniing when it maybe tangled :)
If you don’t wash your hair everyday, can you make a video on how you sleep with your hair and refresh the waves the next morning??
Yes making one soon!
This is amazing I’ve been looking for a way to style my hair just wavy because my partner and i like it in addition to more curly and i’m going to try this!
i heard of wet plopping, its where you plop your hair wet in a shower cap before plopping with a tshirt which lets the product absorb. i havent tried it but people get great results from it!
your so pretty and your hair it is super shiny and glossy
finally found someone with my hair type yayy
pls try putting product on ur hair when its actually dripping wet instead of damp ur hair will be SO much more defined
I don’t. Sometimes I’ll finger comb my hair to separate some of the waves after drying but that’s all
My hair is really wavy in the back and straight in the front
girl I have the same problem! It kindof sucks but at the end of the day I'm just learning to love my hair as it grows. Sometimes pinning back the front with clips helps too!
same!it helps if you get layers or you can try finger rolling and clipping up the straight pieces while they dry to make them blend in with the bottom layers

WOW your hair looks fantastic!!!
Loved the video, am definately going to try your techniques and the products you reccomended. Question: how long do you have to let the product sit before you put on the t-shirt?
I have wavy hair and I have no idea how to take care of it so thank u for this 😭
You're so cute!
I like that you didn’t recommend like the most expensive products
I'm a year too late but omg this is so helpful!! I have a similar hair type and I'm clueless this is perfect
I’ve never seen someone with the same hair texture as me omg ty 😭😭
THANK YOUUU i've been looking for so long for the perfect video and this is it
i have straightened my hair every day for 2 years. i hate my natural hair. however, i want to go pink and i’m a brunette, so now i have to stay away from hot tools, and i’m here. pray for meee
I am going try your way and hope that my hair glows up
How do you protect your hair while sleeping?? I’ve tried braids but they make me lose volume and the pineapple method always tangles my hair up
FINALLY someone who actually has type 2 hair! whenever I look up ‘wavy hair routine’ it gives me straight haired girlies doing heartless curls 😭
Her hair almost looks like big curls. Bruh her hair is thicc. Sorry, I'm just being too much 🙂
definitely will be trying this, thank you!
LOVING your hair cut! What do you ask for when you see your stylist? Deffinietly showing her your hair for inspo! Thank you in advance
Hey could you do a video on how you refresh your hair and also how you put up your hair when sleeping.
It was really helpful.
my outer sections of hair are like this ! (my inner sections are loose 2c to 3a curls even when I don't style them)
I love seeing people embracing their natural hair without actually them appropriating a hair pattern that isn't theirs 😅😅😅 thanks for calling your hair wavy, which it is and it looks gorgeous on you ❤
