girls with fine wavy hair DO NOT TREAT IT LIKE CURLY HAIR!!
Thank you for posting this, there are products you use I use as well like the oil❤
I saw alot of videos on YT going like " your hair is actually curly this and that" but ever since I started to restore "curls" I lost lots of hair 😖 for a YEAR I was too stubborn to acknowledge that not everything on YT is legit for everyone and I should look at my hair situation probably. I have naturaly fine soft wavy hair, so I skip the round head of the hair dryer and just dry it with cool heat from arm far. this helped alot and yes like you said better look at products that wont weight down your hair or it would FALL ALOT.
finally there is no two types of hair straight and curly. there are straight, wavy, curly ,afro-textured type and each differ according to the thickness, and even color of hair💗
ps: I started using cloves rinse instead of apple cider vinegar last month, now I only wash my hair once. it very refreshing and smell way better, give it a try 🌿

I’m Late to this video but I just wanna say: thank you!! Kind of a long comment coming (sorry) but I gave up on my hair a long time ago. RUclips randomly put this on my feed and I’m so grateful. I’m the only girl in my family/ friend group with this specific hair type so I’ve never had clear advice on what to DO with it. I’d go looking and get bogged down with videos for girls with completely different hair textures. They’d usually recommend expensive products that were WAY too heavy and I’d come away disappointed and broke. Since I started college I’ve just completely given up. For the last 3 ish years my hair routine has been wash every 4-5 days, let it dry in a towel for bit, and sleep in braids every night. Didn’t even bother with product because I didn’t know where to start. I’ve been so self conscious about it. This video was so short, simple, and accessible that it actually motivated me to take care of my hair!! Almost everything you listed was available at Walmart so I had no excuse not to just go for it. And oh my god I’m so so so glad I did. I didn’t even know what plopping was. I had heard the term “diffusing” but honestly had no idea what it meant (embarrassing I know). I followed this vid to the letter and I’m so happy with how it looks I can’t stop staring at it!! This is really gonna be a turning point in how I take care of myself. So yeah sorry for rambling but I just want you to know that your video really helped someone and I hope you’re doing great!

I have never kept up with the categories of hair texture. I'm kind of just now letting it sink that my hairs just ...actually super crinkly looking. But I'm kind of half ass & my mottos just kind of ,"ain't no1 got time for all that", lol. I just thought if your hair is more curly than wavy , it'd be category c. My hair gets so wavy, at most, if it curls, it's just loose ringlets. But now I need to buy 1 of those crunching hair dryers bc I'll be looking at 2c vids like 😮 my hair could completely do that 🥰! It's just I hafta put 100 lbs of products in there. Or maybe not. Wash, condition, crunch w/ the tool. I don't want my hair crunchy looking.

My hair is EXTREMELY similar to yours but it wasn’t always like this. In fact, when I was younger my hair was pin straight. A year or two ago my hair became slightly wavy but nothing too crazy but after getting my period my hair went CURLY. I currently use Dove’s wavy hair shampoo, a conditioner made for all hair types, and Cantù curl cream. After doing this I put my hair into a loose bun and after a few hours I let my hair down and it looks beautiful but I can’t maintain this level of beauty to my hair for very long. Over time my curls begin to loosen and the day I don’t wash my hair it looks messy. I’m stuck in this cycle and I just can’t seem to break it. After I wash and dry my hair it’s great but the next day it’s awful. What would you advise? (I apologize for the long comment.)

First of all - I want to normalize non-wash day hair imperfections. It’s okay if your hair doesn’t look as beautiful the next day. I do have some tips though for you:
      1) use a gel or mousse after applying the cream. The cream/leave-in conditioner tames frizz but leaves nothing to help hold the style.
      2) use a little bit of heat while drying your hair. Helps to set the style and gives more longevity.
      3) when sleeping, put your hair in a very loose bun or silk/satin hair cap. Use a silk or satin pillow case if you don’t use a hair cap.
These tips work for me but I’ve stopped expecting perfect waves/curls and have adapted to learn how to braid my hair/style it in other ways I like on bad hair days. Good luck!

I do so wish there was a way to manage waves/curls without so much product, and, on the odd day I actually sometimes miraculously end up with some strong waves and minimal frizz but it's a toss up as to what happened for it to be that way and aside from shampoo and conditioner, I don't use any product so its very confusing! But I'm glad to see a routine like this, quite a few products but not a LOT of each. Definitely worth trying, as 99% of the time my hair is just a mess of frizz.

Mom wasn't much help either as we have the same hair texture and she's pretty much as clueless as me xD Since the beginning of this year tho it's hit me that I have a certain hair texture and all my life I've been using products for straight hair. Stopped straightening my hair about 6 months ago to let it recover after years of damage and have slowly been trying new hair products that fit my hair. It's slowly working! The waves have been forming slowly and getting more prominent! Will definitely try your advice and tips, thanks lots!

I used to use shea moisture's Coconut Hibiscus Curl & Shine shampoo & conditioner and it is actually a good product and worked well but I wanted to find something more catered to wavy, frizzy hair so I did some research on other shea moisture products (cuz their stuff is really good and has so many options) and found the Papaya & Neroli All Day Frizz Control shampoo and conditioner for wavy, curly hair and they work really well. I do see a little bit of difference from when I used the curl & shine, the frizz is definitely much reduced and another nice thing about it is that while the shampoo is sulfate-free the conditioner isn't so it's kind of a nice balance, and helps prevent too much build-up without stripping too much moisture from your hair.
I also use the All Day Frizz Control Milk Gel after my shower and that just adds some extra frizz protection, they also have the option of just straight-up gel instead of "milk gel" which is probably a little heavier if you prefer that. Both the gel and milk gel are used as primers before layering on style products and while I'm just using the Curl & Shine style milk, you could also use the mousse which is lighter if that works better for you.
So yea if you're interested and have wavy, frizzy I definitely recommend trying out those products and you can just follow along with the process she used in the video but with these particular products. I know it's kind of difficult to find products for type 2 hair because a lot of stuff is specifically either for straight or curly hair so finding products that are better for hair that's in between can be a bit of a process so I just wanted to put those products out there for anyone trying to figure out how to manage their hair. I know it might not work for everyone because ppl with type 2 hair can still have different hair textures but it's still worth a shot. Good luck! :)
Some other shea moisture products for wavy hair:
-Fruit Fusion Coconut Water Weightless Hair Masque for fine, wavy, & curly hair
-Argan Oil & Almond Milk Smooth & Tame shampoo & conditioner for fine, frizzy, straight, & wavy hair
*I definitely don't want you to feel like you HAVE to use shea moisture for your hair to be well maintained, it's just my personal favorite and hasn't done me wrong so far but there are definitely other brands out there that work just as well!

I’ve been searching up videos on how to fix my wavy hair since mine used to look like that but now it’s more straight with a bit of waves here and there and I made it worse by brushing it in the morning and then it becomes all frizzed and puffy- worse since it’s thick, so glad we basically have the same hair type I will be trying this out, I just miss my old hair 😭

This doesn’t allow moisture in your hair and it gets dry and brittle. This can be fixed by a clarifying shampoo and then deep condition. If you do clarify it could be that you just need to deep condition more

Soaking wet hair weighs down my hair. I wash with co wash, I use a watered down leave in. Scrunch up and remove excess water and then I spray with my watered down leave in, and add a gel, two separate “layers” of hair top and bottom , or else the bottom weighs down the top and I am left with no waves. But yea ! DAMP styling and egg mask every now and then for the protein. Don’t overload on moisture.

You're so cute! I have some of the products you do. My favorite so far that you didn't mention is the Marc Anthony Coconut & Shea Nourishing Curl Cream. It leaves my hair feeling natural while still making my curls and waves pop. It also smells amazing! I've recently started embracing my wavy hair rather than fight with it, which I've done my whole life. I'm only a month in with it. What I'm confused about is what to do with my hair on days I don't wash. Do I keep adding product each day after I shower, or do I rely on the products I put in on wash day? I only need to wash once a week. I also need to know what to do with my hair when sleeping. The waves on the side I sleep on are noticeably more straight than the other side. Is there a secret I don't know about? All I see is videos for wavy/curly hair on wash day. Any suggestions would be much appreciated! Thank you!

I never find an effect that I like, they always seem wet or dry and frizzy (with mousse or gel). today I will try this drying method, I hope it works and I will find similar products in the future

I’ve had straight hair my whole life… then in 2020 I got Covid pretty bad. Two months later a huge grip of my hair began to fall out. I’ve always had thick hair , and to watch handfuls fall out was difficult. I used zenagen hair growth products and my hair began to grow back in. Now 2022 I have VERY thick hair again ( probably thicker than before) , but it all grew back curly wavy so now I have to relearn how to take care of my hair . Thanks for your video.
