Just a word about this episode. It's an original ABC daytime episode from WNYC. Thank you Jennifer Taylor (Chris Egan) for this incredible video. The episode contained a Beatles song at the reception that RUclips will NOT ALLOW! So I had to cut out most of MIles and Beth's reception. I am very sorry about that, it was out of my control. The only way to see the full uncut episode is to join Sharon Gabet on her Facebook page. We posted it there tonight during our viewing session. One more show to go and my job will be done. The Edge of Night was one of the best soaps that ever aired on television. With the greatest cast ever assembled for one. It was cut down by the Network way before it's time. We miss it very much. Enjoy!
I have enjoyed the episodes you have posted with the original commercials most of all! I know these are very rare. You uploading them has been very appreciated!
I know a movie right! Other than Dark Shadows, I have never seen a former soap get revived that way. I doubt that will be forthcoming but I am happy to say since we have been posting these there has been a minor EON revival in the fact that it's gained new fans and had some pod cast interviews (which I have happily been a part of one) with former cast members Sharon Gabet, Mariann Aalda and Jennifer Taylor.
Thanks Mr.EDGE80s for the information about the reception being on Sharon Gabet's Facebook page. I will have to join then. To tell the truth I was never a big Raven fan because she was a villain and I was a huge fan of Nancy Carr and others in the cast over the years. But I listened to her interview from 2006 and of course she isn't Raven. I was a young teenager during the Nicole in peril years in the mid 70's. The show would always end Friday with a cliff hanger like a hidden gun pointed at Maeve McGuire as Nicole. That's what got me into the show when teenager boys didn't watch soaps but I liked murder mysteries. I didn't know that was The Edge Of Nights genre but when I saw this type of story being shown often I got hooked. It's sad it's ending but thank you so much for posted all of these great episodes. I have saved them all on USB drives and will treasure them forever. I'm actually watching way back at the end of the 70's with the Nora Madison story line and I can now watch them all the way through the end. Again, Thank you for all the hard work and know that all the fans are really enjoying these episodes.
You don't need to be on Facebook. Just go to the blog link I sent and you can post questions there. But please remember we only have 30 minutes so we may not get to everyone's questions. We will try! And after having spoken to Sharon and knowing her now for over two years, I can assure you she is nothing like Raven! I got into EON pretty much the same time and the same way you did! However just the opposite. It wasn't till Larkin and Sharon were teamed together that I really became the big fan.
Thank for sending the link. I am also going through all the Dark Shadows episodes and will be done with them in approximately 2 weeks. Strange show and I was really little when it was originally on and I don't remember if we got the channel it was on but the little bit of it that I saw always scared the hell out of me. Now it's more camp then scary.
Interesting thing from Wikipedia: "Radio's Perry Mason has more in common, in all but name, with the daytime serial The Edge of Night than the subsequent prime-time Perry Mason television show... Procter & Gamble hired the writers and staff of the Perry Mason radio series, the show was retooled, and it became The Edge of Night."
Hi! Someone thought you are an expert on the show and would know: what episodes have the policeman getting his toe broken because some woman was stomping on the cop's foot 👣 with her high heel 👠? I guess she didn't like how he was behaving.
@@KJTV67 Thanks! Do you remember that? Can you identify the dates or episode numbers? The cop was Steve Guthrie, the blond guy and pretty young who had his toes smashed!
"Tonight at 8/7 central, some young lovers face the ultimate temptation in a modern day Eden in part 2 of 'Malibu', an ABC Movie Special starring James Coburn, Valerie Perrine and George Hamilton." I plan on revisiting some past episodes with commercials in the coming weeks. Thanks Steve!

TEON definitely ended way too soon! Maybe a movie based on the show could happen.😊

Joel Crothers was so handsome then

After ABC gave Edge of Night the pinkslip, Jeopardy occupied the 4pm slot in NYC. Jeopardy has been on WABC Ch 7 since New Years Eve 1984.
Cool chammel👍👍👍👍😎
That looks like the lady who played Geraldine Saxon in that Joy Commercial!
Preacher left town a year too late! Charlotte looks healthy for being a day old!

@@fredmore6214 The name escapes me but think this is the woman was hired to kill Paige Madison
@@KJTV67 How can we find out and have the chance to watch these episodes? I don't know who this woman is either.
Are Geraldine and Nancy wearing fur at 2:15? Where was PETA back then? LOL
The old commercials are so great to see and such a highlight!
The PETA issue didn't really start until a year or two later. What's funny is Geraldine dresses rich but lives in a dinky apt.
+Mr.EDGE80s Some PETA people still want to almost kill Francis Ford Coppola for the "Water buffalo" scene in Apocolypse Now!😄
Don't knock the Monticello Arms

Ashamed that YT will not allow that. I don't recall seeing Miles and his bride dance either.
Technically it's not really YT that won't allow it but the RIAA music industry. YT is just bowing to their $$$$ greedyness.
Mr.EDGE80s. That figures.😠
At least Eddie Rabbit and the Beach Boys got through! BTW my favorite Beatles is "Rocky Raccoon" True story from the Black Mountain Hills of Dakota!
Jerry Hinkle. TEON should have used music from the Doors once in a while!🎤
Some Beatles music snuck into the last episode!
Why all these stupid commercials instead of the show?
Don't be a sourpuss
