I had a Cavalier that hated going to the vet. As soon as we walked in he would turn into a furnato, he'd climb up my body, up to my shoulders shedding all the way.. Damn I miss him still.

I started my old Boston Terrier on melatonin. It made an instant difference! His personality during the daytime hours came back, energy improved, nighttime brain function improved as opposed to staring into space in the yard. I was amazed. He's on 3mg. I over paid to get the ones for dogs with probiotics and chicken flavored. He loves the flavor. He is 12yo.

Would love someone to reply to this if they had this happen to their doggy, my dog started to have breathing problems starting a couple weeks ago(i live in upstate ny and had that wildfire smoke and its allergy season on top of that) i gave him benadryl to no effect. It got real bad yesterday, panting and weezing, i was gunna take him to vet so i gave him a bath and after he instantly got better and his nose got real cold. No panting, he got his energy back and his snoring sound while awake and laying down got better. The thing is i got sick with allergy like symptons about an hour later. Im pretty sure it was due to the air quality and whatever that wildfire smoke brought over to my area and got on my dogs skin and fur. Be safe everyone!

I’m in Missouri and my 2 dogs and cat had sudden onset allergy symptoms come one fast. It was when those fires were going on. We had poor air quality I believe because of those fires. I think I will bathe them because of your comment. My one dog is reverse sneezing. I got that stopped with honey and real butter. She would eat that and that sneezing would stop. I gave it to my other dog just because but he seems better too with the scratching. I started an allergy supplement for all 3 about a month ago.

You may have to bath them every few days until the wildfires stop. Talk to your vet about giving Claritin. I give my dog 1/2 pill (17lbs). It works really well. Along with a little honey mixed with warm water in a syringe for dry throats. Steam also helps.

I live in the dry idaho desert. My boston terriers started shedding which is highly unusual. I went and bought a rotisserie chicken and have been giving them pieces of the fat and skin with their dinner. It has made a big difference in their shedding and coat luster. I'm sure you could buy cheaper chicken and boil it to get a fatty broth with the skin in it to add to the food. I don't need to do it everyday forever, just a week or 2 when it's very dry out.

I have started to use the skouts shampoo and it works! Riley’s skin has not been as red and inflamed and she is so much more comfortable. I also use the paws spray to keep theFrito smell away. Just be sure to let it dry before you let them down. Riley will lick it off when it’s wet. Dry, no more licking. It really works.
Thank you to my Wonderful groomer for the gift of this product line.

I’ve been giving my dog, zesty Paul calming treats. I find that it’s been helping her calm her down.. she is a husky so she naturally sheds at least twice a year, but I find that right now she is really shedding a lot. I don’t know if it’s because of the weather. It’s been raining a lot here and I live in New Brunswick and it’s very humid and very hot. You’ve mentioned a couple of things on a short video I saw, but I could not make out what they were called to help with shutting. Can you also give melatonin if you’re giving these calming treats?

Had a 5 pound tub of "I can not believe it's not butter" I started giving my furbabies a teaspoon (what ever fit on the spoon). They sit at the freg waiting for their Butter. A week later I noticed I

I think that's part of God's plan for shedding. All dogs have a job & are allowed a coat for their environment . Less people move them out of their environment & then have a problem with it. Dogs are genetically with their heritage problems. I
Will say my standard GSD sheds 3 ×'s more than my long coat GSD. My lab sheds less than my standard GSD & more than my long coat. 💜 My dogs🐾

I give my dogs Salmon Oil capsules daily for general health. One dog doesn't seem to shed any hair at all, ever, one needs loose hair brushed out (he is very fluffy) and the third dog is just a fur explosion, seven to eight months of the year. Do you think the salmon oil is doing any good? It's surely got other benefits. We just live with the hairy house, it's not an issue. I imagine the dens of wild dogs and wolves eventually get lined with fur, so in nature shedding probably has many purposes.

He mentioned in one of his videos using Dandelion since it has shown positive Scientific evidence. You can use the ones in your yard without pesticides. Use a long screwdriver or such to gently loosen the soil from the long root that runs down the center and rinse them well and let them drain off the excess water. If your dog will eat them; chop the leaves up and add to each bowl of dog food. The root can be dried out in sun or counter for 10-14; then thrown in blender to pulverize it. The drier the root; the easier it will be. Add 1/4 tsp of it to their food a day. Did you order the free pet book at the top of his post? This will help you with other things.
