Great song and I have the cassette to prove it and another great team up is Billy Joel and the late great Ray Charles doing a soulful rendition of "Baby Grand."
Originally done by the Isley Brothers, Ronald is one of the members on this remake. Such a great sound,I love his Rod pays respect to the artists from the pass.
The Isley Brothers weren't big stars during their time at Motown time, but their version of this is one of the best of the Motown hits. Written by Holland-Dozier-Holland and Sylvia Moy.
@@user-gt2uf8cq9y What do you mean? They were more successful even with this Motown song. They left Motown in 1968 and became bigger with their T-Neck Label and Buddha Records.
You're so right the Isley Brothers were one of the first Black acts to have their own label during the those time, and had the bulk of their success under the T-Neck label
A great remake of a classic soul song! Rod was a big fan of The Isley Brothers, Sam Cooke, and other soul artists of the 60's. Great pair of voices, it totally works!
Jay & Amber, you'll love Rod's "Every Picture Tells A Story" and "Downtown Train" !!! you'll love The Isley Brothers "It's Your Thing", "Fight the Power" and "This Old Heart of Mine (Is Weak for You)"!!!
Yes, 1000% agree. They already reacted to Elton's solo version, but the duet takes the song to whole new heights. I still get chills at the moment Elton joins the song and the crowd goes wild. George's voice is immaculate. One of the greatest duets ever.
He has so many great songs! You guys will love You're In My Heart, Sailing, I Don't Want To Talk About It, The First Cut Is the Deepest, I Was Only Joking, and Baby Jane!
This is one of those Motown songs with an upbeat tune but heartwrenching lyrics about a guy who is devastated by the loss of his girl. The poor dude just can't move on, and like the singer in "Ain't Too Proud To Beg," he's abandoned his pride: "If you leave me a hundred times, a hundred times I'll take you back. I'm yours whenever you want me." Lamont Dozier said it was inspired by girl he just couldn't give up. "The more I tried the deeper I fell," he said. "I made excuses for her and all the wrong she had done to me. She was a necessary evil that I just couldn't overcome." Rod Stewart, a huge fan of both Motown and The Isley Brothers, recorded his own version in 1975 and released it as a single. His rendition was a big hit in the UK, climbing to #4, but it only went to #83 in America. He did a lot better stateside when he recorded the song as a duet with Ronald Isley in 1989. This version made #10 in the US.
Rod loves to sing Motown and Soul and he does it very very well. I've seen him live more times than I can count and he always puts in a special Motown/Soul song that you have to really search his discography to find - like "Midnight Hour". I heard this at one of his concerts and it really was one of the very best ever. You should look for the 25th Anniversary of the Apollo Theater and see him sing Otis Redding's "Sitting on the Dock of the Bay". Excellent. I've been suggesting you react to his duet with Tina Turner "It Takes Two". It is on both of their individual albums and it's "fire" too. Just for Jay - watch the live concert video of Rod and Tina doing "Hot Legs". Woohoo!
An interesting duet that hit it out of the park was when Peter Cetera and Cher sang "After All" , they sang it for the movie Chances Are. Definitely worth a listen!
cool. Rod Stewart is the man. "This Old Heart Of Mine" been broke a thousand times...thank you. These people are fine with it and this is a nice little love song, this evening. That hit the spot. Love you guys. See you on the next. Peace and love, y'all.❣❤💔❤🤟😎
Hey Guys! Love watching your reactions to all of these classic songs. Next time you get around to doing Rod Stewart, you should check out "The Motown Song." Very fun and upbeat song!
If y’all loved this, you MUST check out Rod Stewart with the Temptations “The MoTown Song” next. It is 🔥 🔥 🔥. I guarantee Jay will be dancing from the start of the song!
Great choice Rod also does an Etta James song with Carlo Santana on guitar omg its called I'd Rather go Blind while you are on duets. Rod is my favorite singer of all times. I love the 70s music and when he was with the Faces Angel on and you have so many songs by Rod ... Sailing, First Cut Is The Deepest..I Was Only Joking....and so many more keep them coming love it
I love just about everything Rod Stewart does. The man is so talented and really gives his best in concert. No money wasted on his shows, he's a true entertainer. Love the Isley Brothers, too! Yes, Ron's voice melds with Rod's so very well. Great collaboration. Blessings ❤
This is an old Isley Brothers song! You've really been sleeping on the Isley's. "Shout" and "Twist and Shout" are two iconic early rock songs from the 50's. Yes, the Isley Brothers have been around in some form since the 50's AND STILL TOURING!
I love this song, and great cover!!! It's such a awesome Motown song!!!! Funny one of my favorite covers of this is by Wild Cherry who sang Olay That Funky Music! ❤❤❤❤❤
TY Guys love me some Rod Stewart, my wife and I went to see him recently when he was doing shows in Sydney and he still has it to put on a wonderful show full of all his old and new hits, it was wonderful. And to show the down to earth man he truly is I read where he went out shopping and dropped into a hobby store to buys some trains etc for his collection surprising all the staff and spending a good hour with them just chatting and joking. For another Rod reaction I recommend checking out his version of "Downtown Train" it is fantastic. Keep Safe Keep Strong 🦘🦘🦘🦘🎶🎶🎶🎶💖💖💖💖
Rod Stewart also did a song with The Temptations called The Motown Song. He also had a song in the early 80's called Passion which is fire, and I hope you guys can react to it sometime. And another kick ass rockin' duet is It's Only Love by Tina Turner and Bryan Adams.
I remember buying the Isley brothers first vinyl album when I was a teenager. Yes, I am that old. Fabulous nostalgia brings memories of mini skirts, over the knee suede boots, plastic Mary Quant coats (Macs), my Lambretta LI 150cc scooter ....and light up dance floors....such good times 🎉❤
thanks for this! Any Isley Brother with Rod Stewart is going to be a winning combination. And I love this song...and this version is every bit as good as the original Isley Brother's track from 1966.
This was a great duet, Rod is so versatile. He's done a couple of "Crooner" albums that are also amazing. But my favorite Rod song is "My heart can't tell me no." Much love to you and the fam! #robsquadreactions #rsrfamily
I'm telling you, u need to c rod live b4 he's gone...we lose so many good old rockers... he was in Hershey Pa last August and I've seen him twice b4 I had my sister(who went with me both times before) with me because I told her we had to c him again because at his age u never know...still sounded really good...he's got soul and I love that about him
A nice Duet by Rod with Ron Isley, as a kind of a tribute.Another great Rod Stewart song regarding Hearts, is 'You're in my Heart.' Isley brothers did a great version of Summer Breeze by Seals and Croft.
This was such a great match doing the old Isley Brothers song. It sounds almost as good as the original done by the Isley Bros. when they were on the Motown label in the mid sixties. Ron Isley and Rod Stewart should have done a couple complete albums together. Great channel guys. Please be safe and keep up the good work.
Crazy thing I was at Walmart and on there radio I heard this song. When I heard it I was thinking I was hoping this song you would listen soon. Crazy it happened in the same day. Great song!
Ron Isley and Rod Stewart doing a duet on a song. It doesn't get any better than that!!
Great song and I have the cassette to prove it and another great team up is Billy Joel and the late great Ray Charles doing a soulful rendition of "Baby Grand."
@@saturnnet1627 oh okay I got to look that up. I never heard of that one.
Can you react to the version by the Isley Brothers?
No it doesn't!!!!! 🤣
actually it does!! Phil Collins and Philiip Bailey "Easy Lover" LOL
Originally done by the Isley Brothers, Ronald is one of the members on this remake. Such a great sound,I love his Rod pays respect to the artists from the pass.
They haven't done enough of the Isley Brothers to appreciate what icons they are.

One of my favourite Rod videos
Rod Stewart is one of the best of all times.
A great remake of a classic soul song! Rod was a big fan of The Isley Brothers, Sam Cooke, and other soul artists of the 60's. Great pair of voices, it totally works!
Oh yeah, he did a remake of "Twistin' the night away" for the movie Innerspace.
Listening to Rod Stewart as a 14 year old is how I discovered Sam Cookes music. He can sing anything.
If you haven't already, you should listen to "Little Red Rooster".
It has a Motown sound, always pick me up when it come on my playlist.
Jay & Amber, you'll love Rod's "Every Picture Tells A Story" and "Downtown Train" !!!

I’m a huge Isley Brothers fan, and a Rod Stewart fan as well. A great collab from two all time greats on a classic Isley Brothers song! 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥💯💯💯
Every picture tells a story and the first cut is the deepest… y’all will love Rod in these 😊
Reason to Believe.
Elton John and George Michael live, singing Don't Let The Sun Go Down On Me , is a must for you guys.
Yes, 1000% agree. They already reacted to Elton's solo version, but the duet takes the song to whole new heights. I still get chills at the moment Elton joins the song and the crowd goes wild. George's voice is immaculate. One of the greatest duets ever.
Showing how duets are done, two of the greatest
And they hated each other
Yes I also agree. An amazing version of Elton John's huge hit with George Michael's beautiful voice singing a duet. 100% agree. I must listen. 😊
Rod just goes well with everything and everyone

As a trombonist in a horn-band, I LOVE how you guys always give props to the horns!
The voices mesh SO well! Also the orchestration is so perfect, updated, but still true to the original.

I loved both versions of this song. The Isley Brothers' 1966 version was their breakout song, and previewed what their soung would evolve into.
They had a “Number One” hit on the Billboard “Black Music” (now called R & B) Chart in 1959 with their song, “Shout”.
An interesting duet that hit it out of the park was when Peter Cetera and Cher sang "After All" , they sang it for the movie Chances Are. Definitely worth a listen!
I haven't heard this for years. What a treat.
Two very talented artists right here. Check out Rod Stewart's "Reason to Believe" (Unplugged Version). So much emotion! ❤👍 👍
