Your'e the Master!! Nice radio , but nothing beats the charm of a Roberts Radio. I had a C.Crane CC radio digital read out radio that had the ribbon connectors rot away and the display wouldn't work . I tried every fix. The company acknowledged the problem and said go to hell. Never again! only analog radios for me. I really appreciate and enjoy your videos.
I wasn't expecting that! I was anticipating corroded battery contacts, blown / leaky SMD caps... Brilliant quality radio though to be fair. Must've just had a bump...
@@Codeeze i first thought the contacts had corroded, like they often do with evil batteries, but i was very wrong. I'm happy that i was wrong :-D. i will shut up now :-D
Ohhh! difficult repairs are always a challenge. I'm surprised that it was fixed as quickly as it was because those sorts of faults usually take a whole sunday afternoon to diagnose.
@Codeeze in my case there was actually some corrosion and damage on the contact pads that the two battery leads touch on. It looks like a battery leaked once and the acid ate through a little. I cleaned the pads with contact cleaner and bent the pin around the damaged part of the pad. Thankfully the pads are oversized for what they are.
Today yes. But... RTÉ yesterday (31st March 2023) announced that RTÉ Radio 1 will cease broadcasting on Long Wave 252 (LW 252) from Friday 14th April 2023.
Had one for years good radio would love to get one again

Brilliant, a nice fix with no soldering :-D
The reset button was hidden too well :-D

Nice one Paul, easy fix but weird SW reset procedure.
Thanks Mike! - ingenious way to hide the reset switch in plain sight...

yes! - and faff!
Thanks. That fixed it for mine.
Brilliant!
Was it the battery holder, or the reset?

I wish they were all that simple.
I don't mind the odd one that needs very little done to it, but I prefer at least having to think at least a little more. Nice when it happens though.
Haha if only everything in life was that easy (:
Can you get RTE on it?

@@Codeeze Yeah...I know. I know someone who'll have to think of a new cliche! :)
@@Andrewausfa Ah! (Tee-Hee)! 😆
tunning on yb 500 is a nightmare
Everything is different in operation, I didn't have any issue tuning through on this really - just takes a little practice
