Absolutely agree. When I asked my psychiatrist about getting a scan to see the health of my brain and he said they'd never pay for it. But they have been paying for my medications for the last 17 years. Ridiculous. I'm looking into this.

      @@richkadn9013 😅oof where do I start??
      More recent:
A large part of my increasing symptoms were due to a trip in 2021 to Vegas - to be honest. I picked up C Auris. At the time they had an out break and Bc I am normally healthy and not in the med field - I had no idea. I just kept asking doctors if they thought I picked something up or if anything is reported from that region.
      Their response: “probably - it’s Vegas” 😳🙃
It flourished two weeks later after I fought off Covid with a Z pack. Again - docs called it an exposure to a “neurotoxin” (short for we don’t know what the heck you have) and what I call my favorite “do nothing, zero liability, lazy doctor diagnosis”:
      “Long haul Covid” 👎
Otherwise despite my diet being complete crap for my genetics and blood type I was still flourishing before in STEM based work and higher Ed (Astronomy / Astrophysics, Agricultural research and education). Adhd at its finest…My brain loves self directed, challenging, project based, hands-on work. Lol 😂
      Unless it gets sick 🙄
One Infection lead to another (fungi and bacteria love one ❤another) and my cognitive decline (aka ADHD / ADD / OCD) was so profound my professor noticed a substantial difference in communication, attention and unfortunately my grades within TWO WEEKS! He took me aside one day after class and asked if I was okay…🥹
One month until the semester was over I found my study times increasing from 2 hours to 6 plus and information retention was less than 30%. I failed tests for taking so long, forgot basic equations used in space for project work, would lose things MORE than I did before, I stopped being social, anxiety sky rocketed bc my coping skills lead to lack of “get it done” (frontal cortex and Amygdalae affected due to excess fluid / neurotoxin)
Straight A and honor roll I slipped to essentially failing all courses and stopping contracts with some of our nations best science based organizations. (More emotional disfunction and lack of brain chemical regulation)
I pulled out of college. Stopped working bc I could not function. My temps averaged 101.9 to 103.4 on a daily basis. Low blood pressure. Constant skin and organ degradation and ER visits. Vomiting. Insomnia. Even I began to question if it was all in my head. 😵‍💫
      I should have died.
      Months went by -
I wanted to die - either by ending it myself or the illness taking me in my sleep. I have NEVER in my life experienced such a dark moment or such an intense emotional emptiness. Zero history of mental health or even substance abuse issues. But this circumstance brought me to my knees.
my identity was gone and I felt useless. Illness (or whatever universal force you may believe in🙃) Can take my possessions - take my research and contracts away from me, all my assets, social life, isolate me and remove any enjoyable past-time - take it ALL away and I will be fine - I know they are external factors that I can control, earn & gain again or push myself to change to restore balance.
But take my cognitive function and ability to learn away matched with no possible cure in sight and doctors telling you that you are “crazy” and it is easy to see why I wanted to not exist anymore. I had zero hope.
      Either die now or later.
But even in my cloudy hopeless brain, insomnia and sickness filled body, high fever haze, drenched from night sweats bed - one question stuck with me. WHY? Why is this happening?? WHY DO THEY DO NOTHING TO HELP ME?
**Anger engulfed my body and hopeless despair dissipated**
      Smarter question…
AM I ALONE IN THIS? How can I help my self??
In my research, I found I wasn’t alone. I could help myself and the kicker -
      Why didn’t they do anything??
      Good question 😉🫣
Because healthcare is so segregated each Hospital clinic / Dept were literally (seriously!) arguing over the phone about who is responsible for diagnosis and what the diagnosis actually was due to it now being a systemic problem vs centralized to one location.
      How can that occur?
(Cysts started to appear in organs on and off over months and fluid on the left hemisphere of my brain) one docs findings would be different than the next doctors and my record began to look like a shyt fest of notes with a trail of each doc referring me on to the next specialists. Original lab reports and imaging were removed from my record with “corrected doc notes” found only in my record about the findings (I had to request internal records - which outside sourced blood tests and labs were “missing” with an apology about “short staffed / staff transition” leads to issues like these - bs)
Million Dollar Finding? Speaking with an attorney it was very clear they “medically neglected the patient which caused financial, physical, and emotional short term and long term disability” due to “mishandled medical records” I could have gone for a pay out of over a million settling easily BECAUSE I communicated via writing, kept all original documentation (which differed greatly from theirs) photo documented symptoms and screen shot all communications that also went “missing” on their end. Not normal for most patience but I have a research and grant writing background so I know how to document and at the first sign of avoidance on my health care providers end - I kept detailed records.
Why go to the extreme of a lawyer?
      Anger.
The referral to talk to psych and anti anxiety medicine was my driving factor to contacting an attorney.
OH AND the fact a nurse wrote in my record my skin issues were due to “over cleansing, history of medical anxiety and possibly using some (livestock / animal product) to self treat long haul Covid”. 😮 Me - First - deeply offended! My farm is all organic. How dare she accuse me of stuffing my animals with hazardous chemicals!! 😂
BUUUUT ALSO ME…having complete ignorance for fades in main stream news - embarrassingly had to ask a family friend who was a doctor / researcher at an Ivy College what the hell she thought I was self medicating with…
      Care to guess?
She with no evidence besides an intense discoloration of skin, skin shedding and cysts (clear signs of invasive fungal and bad Cándida) essentially suggested I was self treating with Ivermectin!!
Hence - YES we maaaay be okay l treating our bodies like crap, getting quick fixes with antibiotics and OTC but one strain of an aggressive Fungi took me out.
This needs to be a life style. A whole body approach. Not “only when symptoms occur”
      Long story:
Docs here have zero education on environmental toxins / neurotoxins so as my intelligence, gross and fine motor declined slowly until I was bed ridden (hard truth) I had to simply document symptoms (scopes, pictures etc) then research, and find supportive wholistic ways to assist my body in fighting.
Zero education stems from no money in research. Research is centered around HIV and cancer here (but don’t get me started on that lol!)
Clarity is somewhat back but I’m still relying on Adderral as I continue to fight the infection.
Problem? There is a lack of “cure” to prevent reoccurring spikes.
I’m subjected to an array of fungi & bacteria bc I own a farm and take care of land and animals. My immunity is slowly building but genetics plays a huge role.
      ***Findings***
      1. A wholistic doctor is pricey and insurance wont cover anything.
      2. Information and research is readily available and published but access to medication is highly regulated so without a script - people are left to find other means to gain access which leads to a whole host of other problems - especially the safety and quality of medicines.
      3. Politics. Which leads to my next finding - even when I photo documented all symptoms, supplied slides of fungal spores, skin scrapings, outside sourced Cándida & fungal infection lab results, and photo documented the invasive spore in my environment the doctors only response was “you look fine - OUR lab work showed nothing. Would you like to speak to a psychologist and get an anti anxiety med?”
So I looked into it. My hospital doesn’t have the staff or system in place to handle a CDC monitored outbreak. 3 years ago before the Covid pandemic even Ebola was hush hush as to not attract attention and cause financial hardship to the hospital or wide spread panic to the region / state.
      4. Big questions…? WHY the lack of acknowledgement? Why not just care for the patient in an ethical manner? Why have patients suffer more when they clearly know there is an issue? Just for politics??
Well, yes 👍 and no 😅
Humans have caused a huge mess of our environment with all of our “solutions and cures” and naturally occurring organisms HAD to evolve with the changing conditions. So that leads to us, as humans, with less and less sustainable “solutions” bc our “cures” don’t work anymore. Period.
      5. I knew another outbreak was coming and whole populations would soon be affected. It started last month and surprise 🎉 it’s Fungal. Fungal that kills. Vegas, Chicago and Detroit - all places I frequent. I guess it kills 60% of patients. Didn’t kill me yet.
      So back to your question…
      Your environment
      Your diet
Your spiritual and emotional well being
YOUR SELF REGULATION AND ABILITY TO RESEARCH
I’d start now. All bodies are different.

Now diving into light / infrared spectrum on plant and human health as well as vibrational frequency / electromagnetic changes in my area (and global) and how varying levels affect plant health with a potential to link it to my health. Maybe I will have a profound break through that will change an outdated money driven, exhausted medical system before another Covid happens. Idk Bill Gates had the same hopes and sees how long the path to change is and how it NEEDS to be (just like the human body) a wholistic / multi-system approach otherwise we are just prescribing one problem for the next.
If all fails maybe my research can be used on Mars.

@@richkadn9013 I could have essentially just said yes and 3 short reasons why. A story shows not only that this philosophy works but HOW and WHY.
If I would have had a healthy brain reserve could my body (brain) been less affected by the infection?
      Yes.
      Why?
Cognitive clarity came back after I limited my diet to whole healthy foods and increased vitamin / natural herb intake.
To (in lamen terms) decrease cysts / dissipate brain fog I relayed on human grade 😂😉 FenBen sold online.
Taken for two months. No side affects.
More energy. Finally clarity after taking it for 1 week straight once daily. I’m 5’2 and 100lbs.
      AND
      MY favorite as well.
For mitochondria muscles 💪 lol (unblocking of the mitochondrial complex and thus a restoration of ATP synthesis)
I am now taking (Research backed studies in nuero function / med science shows health-promoting benefits) winter cherry (Withania somnifera), also known as Ashwagandha.
Qoute: “Its current research covers many aspects of human health, including neuroprotective, sedative and adaptogenic effects and effects on sleep. There are also reports of anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, cardioprotective and anti-diabetic properties” www.mdpi.com/1999-4923/15/4/1057)
More importantly in the specifics of this topic on nuero function and ADHD / OCD caused by dysregulation of the serotonergic system research REPEATEDLY found that Ashwagandha root extract may be a helpful (adjunct to SSRIs) in the treatment of patients.
“A study was conducted on mice that exhibited behavioural symptoms similar to those observed in OCD. In this animal model, mice were administered a methanolic extract of Withania somnifera (doses: 10, 25, 50, 100 mg/kg) and an aqueous extract of Withania somnifera.”
It was observed that the administration of the aqueous and methanolic extract of Ashwagandha significantly improved behavioural deficits in the mice, without affecting motor activity. Key statement.
No degeneration No crazy nervous system withdrawals
The results obtained were similar to those of the standard treatments: fluoxetine, ritanserin, and para-chlorophenylalanine
      (Absolutely amazing right?)
So yes - to Brain reserve and I will tell you the rest later lol. Obviously I am stuck out on the farm but I have my imaging, documentation and experience to state he is definitely on to something!

I’m looking into getting SPECT imaging soon but I don’t know if the program is worth all of the money. I got a concussion back in February, and I am still facing the repercussions. When I walk in thin shoes, I can feel my brain thump I guess. Walking in thicker shoes helps. I’m not able to do vigorous exercise without feeling dizzy, confused, and disoriented. I am now only cycling for my physical activity to help with blood flow, but again it has been 8 months so I’m frustrated. My traumatic brain injury has caused me to have emotional and behavior difficulties. I could write a book about my symptoms but I do believe they’re slowly slowly slowly getting better. I just have to stay hopeful and literally just have to take great care of my brain. Also, I think that some thing in my spine could have something to do with that weird brain moving feeling I have when I walk. Because I hit the back of my head (below my skull) very hard when I got that concussion back in February.

Hello, the cost depends on what treatment or service we are performing. We have several different levels to try to serve everyone who is interested - from phone consultations, single scan evaluations, double scan evaluations. The cost ranges from a few hundred dollars to $3,950 for our double scan evaluation. We have family plans that offer discounts (www.amenclinics.com/family-discount-plan/) and interest free financing through Care Credit. AmenClinic, how is it possibly appropriate to include spiritual needs in medical treatment of the brain? If a person was stressed or experiencing cognitive dissonance in their beliefs I could see wanting to eliminate that factor, but I do not agree with doctors preaching spiritual advice as though it were physical treatment. How could you possibly treat patients of all religious and non-religious backgrounds in that manner?

    • @AutismJourney
      @AutismJourney 2 года назад +5

Spirituality is not about religion. Spirituality is your ability to see yourself as so much more than your physical body. We also have a soul. Dr. Amen has found that spirituality is a strong component in the healing process. It is your choice as a patient to incorporate it or not.

What is a brain treatment course, how would you increase blood flow to parts of your brain? It can’t just be from exercising and positive thinking, that is common practice and understood. Analyzing 80,000 brains would provide more insight other than just exercise and positive thinking. What is the treatment to improve brain health?

I looked on his website and your answer is there. They do many types of treatments one of which is called the HBOT or HyperBaric Oxygen Therapy. This machine one enters and you receive 3 times the oxygen to your brain to heal it at a faster pace. It helps lots of brain ailments including: Alzheimer's, migraines, autism, PTSD, anxiety, depression, strokes, and many others. Look it up and find out more as I just did.

No insurance, but I suppose you could learn a lot without the actual scans for less than $4k
And as far as finances, it’s similar to the continuous glucose monitoring systems that you see wealthier people wearing, while the poor folks are still pricking their fingers. That finger prick gets old after a few times. Just imagine a world where we could all be healthy. We might be able to reduce prison populations and school shootings and so much more. Not in my lifetime, which by the way is likely much less than it could be.
