What I would have liked to be mentioned is the fact your video recordings are limited to a certain amount of time. In some modes you are able to record up to 70 minutes, but usually you only get up to 30 minutes of recording time. Then the camera stops the recording and starts a new one, which takes a couple of seconds. So, you in fact lose a couple of seconds when recording constantly, which also adds hustle when syncing external audio sources with these segments. You are unable to just sync it once you start recording but have to find some work around. Sadly, this gets mentioned far to less in videos about these cameras, but are important to know when owning one. Also, the FOV of the One RS with the wide lens depends on the frame rate you set. If you record in 30 fps or lower, you have a wider FOV, while recording above that frame rate narrows your FOV
I got the One RS for the modularity and it has worked out well so far. I even purchased another core module, so I now have the 360 cam on the handlebar and the action camera on the helmet. You're right that the 360 camera is less aerodynamic, it moves around after a while. For this, I'm planning on purchasing a vertical battery and it'll look like the X3; problem solved!
Greetings from Italy! I can tell you that the PreProgrammable Mode is available on both cameras! :) The One RS Deserves those two extra points too!! It's quite a year now that my wife and I have started our jourey in MotoVlogging; We mount an Insta360 One RS on each helmet (with 4k lens) and a third one with the 360 lens that we swap between our bikes (She rides a 2011 Yamaha XJ6 Diversion and I ride a 2000 Honda CBR 1100 XX) Cheers!!
I bought the Gopro Max because of the inbuilt GPS but I really dont like the camera at all. Overheating, freezing, lost GPS data streams... can't rely on it.
For some one who's looking for a wide angle action camera for moto vlogs, i would suggest DJI osmo action 3. Iam using it and it's far better deal than GoPro. No bugs, no freezing issues, excellent 4k footage with fantastic battery life.
Greetings from Los Angeles, California! I'm a huge fan of your channel for both your stylistic chops, fresh content and editorial integrity. Keep up the great work!
I have the X3 and love it but ran into bit of recent snag and that is more with customer service; I got audio authorization so had to contact them, a file was sent but didn’t work. Emailed them back but not heard anything in several days. The protection case seems better on the RS when the X3 have couple of waterproof housing that seem to create bad stitch lines.
Have to say another fun video , personally I want for the X3 I have a standard helmet camera & I wanted the extra 360 functionality to add some more interstitial angles to my footage. Both are good cameras just 1 is dedicated and the other a jack of all trades. Getting the hang of editing either will be fun in the app on a small mobile device. But I wish I had my X3 for my channel earlier.
Great video. I have a GoPro Hero 8, and I'm sick of it freezing up. I'm looking for a replacement. I use mine for dirt biking and adventure biking. I have the Media Mod for my GoPro and hook an external mic to it as well as an external battery back that I either have in my coat pocket (for adventure riding) or velcroed to my dirt bike helmet to give me extended battery life. I can't stand the short battery life of the GoPro. I know the OneRS has the extended battery pack, but do either of them allow connecting to like an external battery pack via a USB-C cable. I suppose I could keep my GoPro for regular wide-angle shots and get the X3 for 360 video, but the thought of having only one to attach to my helmet or bike is appealing. Which would you suggest?
Which would you recommend as a incident camera? I've got dashcams for my car but would like to have something for my bike as there's plenty of close calls and it would be handy to have the ability to catch it on vid
Another great video! I'm in the process of building my channel and beefing up my infrastructure so I was debating this exact purchase. Thanks for the input! Also, glad it's not just me still filming on a Hero 7. lol.
Aahaha, I'm not making videos, bud still filming on SJ4000 for 7 years already :D I will grab one RS very soon. After another 7 years... Joking, will grab it soon. :D
I'm using GoPro 7, Insta 360 X3 and also RS. I love them all! GoPro battery life suck 😂 but I still use it! ruclips.net/video/b970c9s0zU0/видео.htmlsi=VugzKAb1jJEp5xM8 example of X2 and RS cooperation 😂
Standard tripod thread and ball head is the way to go. GoPro mounts are incredibly impractical (by impractical I mean stupid and evil) and they ruined everyone's life ever since they first appeared. I'm glad some manufacturers had seen the light and started adding the tripod threads to their cameras.
@@adaptiveagile Gopro overheats within 10 mins in the summer. It chops your videos up into little 5 min segments. Turns on and off randomly at night by random signals in the atmosphere (seriously). I had my hero 10 for a day and I took it back. I got the RS twin with 360 cam and 4k cam for the SAME price, and it has never overheated or chopped the video up into tiny little segments. If I record 4k 60 for over an hour, it MIGHT split the video. Usually doesn't, but I've had zero problems with it to this day. Plus it uses the same mounting bracket as Gopro, so the accessories are interchangeable. You're welcome lol.
360 X3. I have four GoPro Hero 6 Blacks already. The 360 would be great for those things going on around me that I cannot get my head around to with good quality and one of the fixed cameras isn't pointed at for long enough to be usable except as a still. Good comparison.
If you are on a long/remote bike trip and you damage a lens, the One RS wins hands down. You have two lens modules. That is like having 2 cameras. You damage the x3, and it's all over red rover. And, the 360 phone editing app is sensational.
can you explain abit more please . when you was talking about audio, did you use the same audio set up for boths. because you said that you was using a lapel microphone with the RS but was you using the same microphone for the X3. Plus you said the X3 does a slightly better job with audio, but how does it. is it better interms of crisp quality or is it better just because its easier ?
Great video. x3 was on my amazon cart for a few weeks now. In my opinion, X3 does a better job. or should I wait for x4 and continue my ride with Hero5 😁
Greetings from Cape Town. I love my One X2 but the lenses are super fragile and prone to scratching and ridiculously expensive to repair. I also have not had great luck with the lens protectors. Would be awesome if they could equip the future generations with Gorilla Glass.
i didnt know you can just clamp down on the rear foot peg. but how safe is that? also anyone have recommendations on clamps such as the one he used at 1:52 ?
How to use for insurance purposes? Is there a button you can press that saves footage of what happened 2min in the past and then records a further 2min into the future so it captures and saves what has happened before the crash, during the crash and after the crash?
@@ChaosCauses okay that is frustrating so its a constant loop which will cause lost footage if the next loop begins. I have tried the loop on the drift ghost hated it as it would cut out the actual event if it was not in the time frame of the loop. I then tried another mode which was you press a button and it saves 2min of the past then a further 2min of the future so it saves the most important part so it captures the lead up to the event and the end of the event so if you crash then press the button it will save what happened to you 2min ago rather than a loop that will be useless.
Meh. My old GoPro Hero 3 still does the trick. Cam's now are just too stupidly expensive! Who has R10k for a simple cam, that might fall off and never work again? Don't get me wrong, an nice 360 cam would be nice, but then again, if you have bazillions of subs and do this for a living, and get stuff sponsored, then I guess it's worth it... It is what it is....
Maybe this is a novice question/comment, but I came here to figure out how to move the camera (pan/tilt) while riding and obviously this video failed me. So if anyone can help me figure that out it would be so much appreciated. Thank you and ride safe!
i like the form factor of the one RS and its versatility coz it can be reconfigured to a standard action cam, but on 360 footage its bad the stitching os not that good probably its thick...the X series are good at that
Hero 7 looks so washed out while the rs is over saturated but looks better. Look at your black jacket, its supposed to look black. In the hero 7 side it looks like you have owned this jacket for years and its losing its color. Even though the RS is saturated to hell, its better footage out of the box.
I did not like the Insta360 RS when I was looking for a new camera. I really wanted to like it, but I dropped the 360 idea and just went with a GoPro11...
I have one rs pleases me much, audio needs only you need a record own voice, if you want's record motorcyle exhaust sound need a buy another recorder like zoom h1n or tascam dr-05x. if you have a iphone so no problem for photos , but i wish had 2 camera one for helmet one for 360 video so in time maybe I buy another camera for this porpuse

Well, I got the 360 x3 from your link. Thanks for the video
SUPERB VIDEO!! Informative, personable, easy-to-understand. I'm currently in the market, and will likely go with the RS (for reasons of cost).
