I have had my Bronco for over a year now and love mine. I am manually making adjustments with the vents and enjoy the challenge but I can see the convience of the ink bird.
Hello Raul. I put the chunks of wood on top of the briquettes around the edges and go ahead and light it right then. No need to wait till it gets up to temp. Hope that helps.
Hello! I purchased the coupling you described from ACE Hardware for this setup but it looks the smaller end does not fit the hose. How did you attach the hose? If you could elaborate that would be great and thanks!
Hey Vincent, thanks for checking out the video! I just push the hose down into the coupling with my finger leaving enough slack so the fan controller sits flat on the shelf.
@@beginning-reloading thanks for the reply. Looks like the coupling I purchased was labeled incorrectly and is not the size it says it is on the sticker so I’m purchasing another one to see if it’s the correct size. I’ll update you if it’s good!
Hey Harry! Yes I did buy an extra shelf. I'm trying to remember, but I think it only comes with one grate? I may have also purchased a 2nd grate. I also bought the larger charcoal basket from the Bronco pro for longer cooks. 👍
Hey Mike! Yes, I disconnect the hose that goes into the intake, close the intake and chimney and the coals go out. I always reuse what ever is left for the next cook.
@@beginning-reloading Thanks! I have one and this reducer on the way. Did you unbolt the current vent or are you able to attach it with the existing intake vent still on the pipe? Do you use a different cap to close it?
@@MikeMinCO I'm sorry Mike, I spaced. I just turn the fan off and leave the tube in the exhaust. That will smother the remaining coals. You do have to take off the small list on the intake tube.
@@beginning-reloading No worries, that's even better news since I was hoping to leave it in place between cooks. Glad to hear it creates enough of an obstruction to snuff the coals.
Hey Curtis! Absolutely. That thing holds temp so well, you can literally set it and forget it. You can monitor the app on your phone through your wireless network. Some may call that cheating, I call it making good use of technology 😉

Hi Greg, I just got my ink bird and the attachment from your link at Ace. Where do you set your exhaust on topwhen you are running the fan? does it depend on the pit temp.?
@@beginning-reloading Thats kind of what I thought but wasn't sure. Where are you located? Sometimes the altitude is the only other factor that can effect the cook, Im in Wisconsi.

Do you get your pit up to temp first then add the wood? Or do you add your wood on when it’s close to your goal temp as it gets up there?

Was the rubber adapter affected by the heat of the grill?
Not at all Harry. I've done plenty of cooks with this setup and never had a problem. 👍
Thanks
What are the parts you used to connect your Inkbird? Also, what was your exhaust vent setting? Thanks
I found out what he is using!

I do have 2 grates and have been thinking about the larger charcoal basket.
Are you still able to extinguish the coals after the cook with the tube and fan attached?

I just bought one for my bronco. Can't wait to test it out. Is yours still holding up well?

Hey Curtis! I just open mine about 1/2 way. I don't think it matters a whole lot as the fan will control the temperature.
