kelly did that in the knockouts before and it shined as they were from a totally diffrent knockouts and they one of them wasn’t even on her team😂😂so that’s great😂

Staying on the show longer is in their best interest for exposure, someone will pick one or the other up. Both have talent, Matt would sell better + with a band behind him, though Janie has undeniable talent.
I feel Iike they only agreed to go as a duo because they didn’t want a risk of being eliminated 😑

Canadian guy here. I generally can’t stand these talent shows. But I have to say The Voice Australia is awesome. First, the talent coming out of that kinda small population is incredible. Second, the coaches on that show are the absolute best. They have a really great dynamic and I get the feeling that they really do care about the contestants.. Also I want to marry Delta Goodrem. Please don’t tell my wife I said that 😂 but Delta is an absolutely spectacular human being. Anyway, back to the point. I only get to see snippets of the show from RUclips but I really enjoy watching this crew.

The coaches shouldn’t pressure the contestants like this. They clearly wanted to be solo artist but the coaches kept trying to push them together although the contestants have different styles. 🤷🏻♂️
They can break up immediately after they are out of the voice, nobody made them sign a pact for life. Accepting this helps them stay on the show, get great coaching and exposure, so I'd say it's worth it.

So glad a combo was formed, but sorry they were so stressed by it. I can't count how many times over the years I've wanted an incredible battle pair to become a Duo. I thought to myself "what a darn shame this incredible combination, this amazing sound, will never happen again." Anyway, I suspect this was pre-planned.

This season is ALL about produced drama, fights, and rule breaking. Haha. “Reality” TV.
I've worked on a couple of reality shows and been able to see how manipulated the "reality" actually is. From a gay couple that were not a couple (and only 1 of them gay,) to contestants being prompted by producers on who to vote off.

I think both deserved to go through on their own. Forcing them into a duo when they'll probably just get eliminated next round (given the track record for duos) is unnecessary stress to put on the contestants, it messes with their minds and careers, all for the shock factor and ratings. They sounded great together on THIS song, but what about the next one? You can force genre, songs and style on theme shows like the Voice, but what about after the show when they don't want to go the same direction musically? They already expressed concern and the judges peer-pressured them into what is likely a mistake.
If I had to guess before the season started, I totally would've expected George and Kelly to break the rules over Guy and Delta. Then again maybe they all will by the end of the season. Maybe we'll end up with 2 winners.

They are amazing individually but so much stronger as a duo. I don't think either one would have won individually but I think they have a real shot together. Also, indie rock is definitely a good lane for both of them.

You are correct. Kelly did it last year and Delta always seems to have her own agenda, but when Guy says something or chooses to coach his own way they criticise him. It's all about the drama for those two. 😂
Exactly what I thought as well. The girls have something against Guy. They're always bending the rules and guy does it ONCE and its a big deal...whatever.

I actually think Matt was the clear winner of this battle he went all out, but I do like Janie also I do feel like it was forced on them to become a duo now Delta still has both of them it's like what's the point of the battle. Most of the battles this year are sounding more like duets then head to head.

Guy made Jonny do all the singing and Buhku just played the instrument so it wasn’t fair to pick between the two that’s why everyone was disagreeing with him❤️

(in my opinion) I've seen battles over numerous seasons (over different versions of The Voice) where the artists should have been duets, but never given the option, that sounded better together than these two.
Seems like the producers are Jumping The Shark here.
Who knows, this stunt may pan out, anythings possible.
Seems to me the point is that the 'possible' coach/coach can't make that call on their own, it has to be up to the contestants if they want to become a duo. Delta wasn't saying, "to avoid dropping someone, I'm going to turn you guys in to a duo" and that's why she had to go ask the producer, how it could be done but since I saw this in 2021, how far did they go, top 12 or top 6?

This decision seemed quite forced as Delta had made it clear that one of them would have to leave if they decided to go their own way. Being a duo would definitely create a beautiful performance, just like this one, but they really stand out as individual artists. It seemed like this would only be beneficial for Delta, and not Janie and Matt.
This is exactly how bands on the X-Factor and K-pop idol groups are formed...and look at what happens to them 5-7 years after debuting( I am not predicting anything...just saying that it may not help them on their journey on the Voice)
At this rate they are just adding more drama to get more audience to watch the show. Ludewig is going to win the show anyway.

I agree, Delta whimped out on them. She should have chosen one over the other, that's the fair thing to do. I can't see either of them making finals, the competition is far too intense. Forcing them to make a snap decision on camera was really selfish of her. They were better in my opinion as individuals.

Well, so did the boys that Simon formed into One Direction. They sang together for some years, and now they have single careers... and 5th Harmony... at least one of them now has a single career that she might not have had. I think it's a great idea, if it could forward their singing career/s.

Matt was the clear winner here. Why put them as a duo? They didn’t even have chemistry🤦🏻♀️ If any battle was a hard choice it should’ve been Timothy and Luke to be a duo. They sounded beautiful together - and Luke deserved to be saved :(
