@@HowToDoitright if you have a USB hard drive, which has a movie on it, will it play through the receiver? I.e, does the receiver have a built in media player?
I am calibrating my onkyo pr-sc5530 manually. How do i change the master volume while calibrating the speakers during the speaker calibration setup. By default the speakers pink noise is set on zero and i want to reduce the volume to -20db and then do the calibration. Is this possible.
Through SPL meter you can calibrate first you need to select listening position . Now you may put SPL meter in C mode . And fix it constantly. Now put above half master volume of your AV reciever. Now you go to reciever settings increase or decrease left speaker db then check the SPL db. Must remember one thing if SPL shows you 75 db at any db of your speaker db then it calibrated perfectly. Similarly you can do remaining speakers. Note: Don't move SPL meter from first place upto total calibration. Sorry for My English.
Calibrated mine made a HUGE difference, before center just didn’t sound right
To what level do you adjust your subwoofer gain, on the back of the sub?

Put microphone where you sit at your ear level.

I’m not sure as mine had volume. You might have a different setup. You may want to call onkyo. They have good support team.
If you only have 2 main speakers should you still do this?
With onkyo the pink noise is always on 0.0 db . Or 75 db .

It really depends on how much base you like. It’s a personal preference
