After dude died, it turned out the house was given to him by his recently passed away father but it got eminent domained and some random banker had bought the property for pennies on the dollar
saddest, eh, nah. it's sad but go look in the basement of the voll residence. look at the barrel pit. look at the clothing items and think what may be in those barrels. THAT is the saddest mission.
nah, other missions are very messed up, but this mission is the saddest one lore wise because it's more down to earth and hits closer to home. This mission shows the misfortune of circumstance. They had no choice but to fund their mother’s treatment. (Via illegal means) Yet despite all of that from what I noticed; the mother is the one who called 911; despite her withering state, maybe it’s because she wanted to do one last right thing. We’ll never know. This world can be really dark and muddy at times, full of suffering, cruelty; and misfortune beyond compare. I’m glad the game doesn’t stray away from these topics. These need to be discussed, thought over more often, and we should all strive to treat others like people. Fairly and amongst equals. (I’m not justifying or excusing their actions, it’s mere analogy.)
NGL this mission felt fucked up. I really went balls deep into playing with my AI squad (since its just SO MUCH better now) and started to actually listen to the mission briefs and not just run and gun each mission, and I knew they would obviouly shoot back once we got inside but i tried so hard to just get them to give up the first few times
Something in ready or not which hit with reality was 'Neon Jungle' I think it's called, seeing the bodies was normal, but seeing all the phones ringing with peoples loved ones reminded me that it's easy to lose count and neglect that each individual is someones son, daughter or sibling. Put real mass shootings into perspective.
What makes it worse in my opinion is that the mother called it in, which makes it worse because that is who they were trying to get the money for in the first place. It shows how the mother did not want her sons to get into that kind of crime, adding onto this is that throughout the map you can see pictures of the family, even the room where their mother was before she passed had a get well card. It shows how the family is connected, it gives the family an actual identity.
Honestly most missions in this game made me feel sad, the game does a good job at showing that the perpetrators are often victims of something else in life and that's why they do crime. Rarely felt good killing anyone with a few exceptions in this game unless I had to do it, ran non-lethal exclusively on this mission and the Carriers of The Vine but had to mix it up on other missions. The Left Behind group and its related missions also didn't feel good when killing but it was too risky to do otherwise, but I always tried to minimize casualties.
@@OntheRocks-12barrels in a pit with flies surrounding it, children’s clothes strung about. Basically; the body of kids are inside the barrels after those kids were probably subjected to abuse.
I speak so highly of this game not because of the tactical swat gameplay, not because of the violence, but because of how well they are able to tell a story so deep and twisted just by level design. This game touches on some of the darkest themes and subjects and leaves you thinking about them hours after you’ve finished. Truly a masterclass in environmental story telling.
I'm glad I did this mission completely non-lethal, didn't read the briefing but I do like to bring in as many as possible... well except for the Hand missions, or the trafficking missions.
After hearing the briefing at the station, I knew ther was no letal option I could take without feeling like an asshole, so immediately put together a non-lethal kit, unusual as every single last mission before almost took us to a breaking point, as a squad, but, more importantly, as humans. Los Sueños its a brutal world, and since our relocation at the new HQ, everyone had a survivalist mindset of ask quietly, instantly shoot and then ask again, this time loud (No one even flinched when we needed to shoot that streamer in the gut after resisting and pointing at us; him being an douche helped, but still). As a team leader, told my squad that they don't need to do the same if they don't want to, I would never put their lives at risk for something I believe, just knew that I couldn´t go through with it... Thing is, no one could stand that brieff unscathed: for some, it hit close to home, for others, the situation remembered them too much of their own young selves; a family, locked out in this decaying system, desperately trying to save their mother, no matter the cost nor consequences... Everyone took orange guns, tasers, spray and nothing else, even Hightower changed his usual Supernova for bean bags on this one. As we were leaving the station, we saw Chief on our way out, expecting some kind of chew off for this behavior and loadouts, due to his endorsment and usual requirement of more aggressive, stay safe loadouts and strategies. He only reminded us "It ain´t non-lethal, it is less-than lethal; try to aim low".
i really feel for the mission with the veterans. A politican was going to defund the VA(which is already struggling at times) and so they decided to kill him with a sniper. I would personally look the other way and hope they complete their objective honestly - don't see anything wrong with what they were doing. If you want to defund the VA while we have veterans who have serious conditions and need help, then i hope you get what's coming to you. Most of the AI "enemies" have 1 leg or missing an arm and it's stapled up.
At 7:16 he’s got his back towards the operator. There’s no reason to shoot right away, should have told him to drop the weapon and only shoot if he turns around to shoot.
@@pagingdoctorsideburnshe has his back turned, period. That’s just standard law enforcement protocol to tell them “it’s over, I’m behind you so might as well drop the weapon”. You’re also forgetting that there’s an operator in front of him, you can hit that operator accidentally as well. Never engage back and front at the same time, just standard operating procedures for safety of your men. You only shoot behind if there’s a hostage or if the guy is strapped in bombs.
@@pagingdoctorsideburnsin real life, once they see the bullet holes post mortem plus your officer body cam, good luck explaining to your boss at the station what happened.
I read/listen to the briefing before every mission to know what type of gear to equip my AI team with, as well as myself. Upon reading this, I put my whole team on beanbag/pepperball kit, and lead the team using non-lethals to ensure that nobody would die. This is one of the missions that makes me feel for the suspects, because in the world of Los Suenos, everyone is having their hand forced because of how the government and elites have a lack of care for the citizens living under them. This mission hurts.
I roleplay as the Combine in my game. The vocoders and gas masks made the operation so inhumane - like I was excisising some malignant tumor. I did my best to save everybody in that house, but civil disunity is a tough punishment...
This mission perfectly explains the world that Ready Or Not takes place in. It does not exist, but it shows to us that it *can* exist, and it shows the reality of the world we live in. This mission hits harder than any other, because this is unfortunately all they could have done to save their parents lives. This mission is *perfect* because it begs the question; *"What are you willing to do, to save your family?"*
Is dirtying your soul worth the cabal bravado? Its much worse than just the PTSD. Imagine if people were not forced into horrible decisions that led to criminal behaviors?
I was feeling compassionate at first when starting this level, but then I saw my AI team-mate getting shot to death and it quickly transcended into Doom Eternal.
This game was made NOT for entertainment, so expect every missions in-game real-life situation. Not sure how many of them are real though, since public censure also a thing.

I- I used cs gas and ordered my ai team to clear with flashbang on that room.... When checking on the mission briefing with the tablet, I came to realize that I could've potentially killed her. I now take caution whenever I enter rooms in Every. Single. Mission.
Dude this mission hurt. I literally thought about it for a few nights after. Especially since I’m Pro 2A so I don’t even care about the crime they were breaking and then there’s the sympathy for why they started. We all ran less than lethal but 2 of the boys just didn’t give up. Was a sad mission man
one thing i gotta say is the detail is insane, first the 3d printers are MODELED OF REAL ONES, those are ender 3 v2 and prusa v3's. i think its crazy games actually put in effort like this
If only he knew mainstream medical treatment would only worsen the situation. Health does not come from big pharma. Instead of turning towards crime, the son should have educated himself. A water-only fasting would have eliminated the problem. Just saying.
I did this mission a couple days ago, I was able to get everyone to stand down but the youngest son… I didn’t realize who he was until after we completed the job
I like how nuanced of a stance the game takes about being an officer. Situations like this are hard to watch. On the one hand, even if the family was forced into this, they still need to be brought to justice. Unfortunate circumstances don't excuse crimes of this calibre. But on the other, what does killing solve for the family here? I'm glad the game has non lethal options (or as someone pointed out below me: "Less than lethal.") so you don't have to approach situations with the intent to kill, and that can be just as effective as lethal options with the added benefit of not widowing families or making orphans. Ready or Not is one hell of a game.
modern warfare should have a mission where an enemy bleeds out whispering, “all i wanted was a chance” or something similar something to make us understand that there are no winners
The first time I played this I tried to use less lethal but didn't work I forced my pistol and I gun down the sons I hated every second of it. Worst mission ever but it was my duty as SWAT to carry out order. SWAT will sometimes see hard things that we don't and it sucks
I just did this mission for the first time yesterday. I didn't really read the description of the mission, but when I heard everything the AI was saying I felt kinda bad. The suspects were talking about "Hey it's going to be alright.. Go check on mom." And then I found the old mother in the room with all the medical set-up.. Man I felt bad for having to raid that house. Especially when the mother asked, "Let me talk to my sons, please..."
I normally dont use any non lethal options when i have a option to use lethal weapons but after i read the briefing i immediatly switched to non lethal i dont know if its becuase i relate to their situation due to the fact my mother had cancer which she survived thankfully but theres something incredibly inhumane about killing the sons of a mother who is at her lowest.
Considering they were selling switches directly to criminals and had no problem shooting at LE, I don't see them as any less criminal than other adversaries The Mindjot security probably are honestly, they didn't believe you were police and acted in presumed self defense
They had a more reasonable cause for the crime That being said it’s still not reasonable enough since they 1. Selling to criminals 2. Shot at law enforcement (ready to kill) Also tf u mean “making machines guns shoudnt be illegal”?
@@matthias8161 Then try and lock me up. Don’t know why y’all are freaking out about simple fun switches. It’s already very unconstitutional that machine guns are heavily regulated. If you play Ready or Not then you should know how useless full auto is and it’s only use it to be fun and waste ammo.
Definitely glad I handled this mission well first try. Ran w beanbag shotty and ordered the team to hold the exits outside. Cleared the house myself w no casualties. All due to reading the briefing beforehand, just wanted to make sure the mother doesn't lose her sons when they didn't deserve it.
I’m gonna sound messed up for saying this, but I’m glad that the devs included the SS level. I think they put it into the game because they want us to understand that stuff like that could happen.

Great video. There’s so much detail that goes into the crafting of these scenarios that go beyond the “terrorist hunt” modes. It shows the harsh reality that law enforcement officers deal with , the consequences of people making bad choices , sometimes for noble reasons, and above else the grief and sadness families suffer. It really made me shed a tear....
It's one of those missions where you say, "Yeah, we're just doing our job, but these people should never have been placed in this situation."
This touches on a real issue that's happening now with many people... They have bills, medical conditions, or other things and they don't make enough money. So they have to turn to illegal stuff that makes a lot of money. There are many dealers that do it to support their families, and it hits different when people are doing this sort of stuff JUST to keep their head above water...

One of those "Do you feel like a hero yet?" Moment, very striking story for a tactical fps game

This reminds me of that time the local PD brought an APC to serve an eviction down the street and it turned into a 12 hour shootout.

Love how you made the video, nice job! Very Immersive.
That is why i love void interactive. The attention to detail is impressive. (Tho some gameplay elements still needs work, but with time)
they give you the cold, harsh and depressing truth every time, even the game title asks you if you are ready or not
This mission shows the misfortune of circumstance. They had no choice but to fund their mother’s treatment. (Via illegal means)
Yet despite all of that from what I noticed; the mother is the one who called 911; despite her withering state, maybe it’s because she wanted to do one last right thing.
This is the only mission I’ve never used anything other than less lethal
The saddest mission is volts house, if you realise what is in the basement...
What’s in the basement?

Yes, the implication is they film sniff films in the basement with children.
Luckily, I had the Umbrella Corp mod, so I felt this was pretty lore accurate to what we do
I'm glad I did this mission completely non-lethal, didn't read the briefing but I do like to bring in as many as possible... well except for the Hand missions, or the trafficking missions.
This music fits it perfectly, beautiful😢

At 7:16 he’s got his back towards the operator. There’s no reason to shoot right away, should have told him to drop the weapon and only shoot if he turns around to shoot.
The fuck? The guy hammered out like a dozen shots before being taken out. You see him hit an officer in the plate at 7:05
@@pagingdoctorsideburnshe has his back turned, period.

"Try to bring them alive, but don't risk getting shot for it. They should know better."
Sometimes... when you listen to the briefing. You have a little more mercy for the victims.
This mission hits harder than any other, because this is unfortunately all they could have done to save their parents lives. This mission is *perfect* because it begs the question;
*"What are you willing to do, to save your family?"*
This is why you DON'T DO no knock raid. Enjoy your PTSD.
Have to keep the boys alive👍
I always do the mission with non-lethal weapons

I tried to go nonlethal the first time i played this, but they murked me. Then I got out my SA-58...
sending cs gas with a lady with lung cancer inside is devious
This was the only mission where I forced my entire to go non-lethal. I didn’t want to kill a son in his own home while his dying mother watched.
Sad for sure. Nothing kills me more than Valley of the Dolls though. Especially when you find the basement
"Our job is not to create widows and orphans, but to bring order to the chaos"
in this mission I purposefully make sure to always not shoot even a single bullet
modern warfare should have a mission where an enemy bleeds out whispering, “all i wanted was a chance” or something similar
something to make us understand that there are no winners
The first time I played this I tried to use less lethal but didn't work I forced my pistol and I gun down the sons I hated every second of it. Worst mission ever but it was my duty as SWAT to carry out order. SWAT will sometimes see hard things that we don't and it sucks
Now this is how you do indirect storytelling.
I first played with an ar and hollow points, surprisingly, not one person died, two body shots is surprisingly non-Lethal…
this is an art form, you’ve done super well. Please keep honing these kinds of videos
Single player Session: im Sorry
MP Session : Shoot the mom as well to end Bloodline to avoid retaliation.
Wanna know what's sadder? The fact that devs took a whole year of hiatus again lol.
I did this misssion with non lethal weapons and keep throwing CS and Flashbang each room to avoid killing them
I normally dont use any non lethal options when i have a option to use lethal weapons but after i read the briefing i immediatly switched to non lethal i dont know if its becuase i relate to their situation due to the fact my mother had cancer which she survived thankfully but theres something incredibly inhumane about killing the sons of a mother who is at her lowest.
These people were probably the least criminal of all Ready or Not. They’re just helping their parents Making machine guns shouldn’t be illegal.
Considering they were selling switches directly to criminals and had no problem shooting at LE, I don't see them as any less criminal than other adversaries
The Mindjot security probably are honestly, they didn't believe you were police and acted in presumed self defense
They had a more reasonable cause for the crime
That being said it’s still not reasonable enough since they
1. Selling to criminals
2. Shot at law enforcement (ready to kill)
Also tf u mean “making machines guns shoudnt be illegal”?

Nothing will stop a life of crime like a getting killed, I blame the mother...
