    I just ❤ you, Jim Gaffigan!!! I'm the youngest of six and the only one born in the U.S. to Colombian parents and I NEVER imagined that good ol Jim Gaffigan would ever find himself in Colombia, let alone be willing to try our delicious food! Delectible fruit and juices like the guanabana that you tried are favorites but I'm shocked that you didn't have more prepared meats in the vid since you're an avid carnivore. Thank you for shedding light on the country and showing more than just the stereotype of Juan Valdez and coffee. Btw, we have our guava w/ a slice of monterey jack cheese about the width of the guava ... Yum! Cheers, Jim!

    Growing up, there was an empanada house that served only empanadas of all kinds. The sweet ones were dusted in powdered sugar. As a teen, my friends and I would try to make the person about to take a bite laugh so the powdered sugar would go everywhere.

    Jim you went to Colombia? Did you do a stand up special ever there? I’d love to see it! That corn meal is from Venezuela 🇻🇪, where I’m from. You want to try real Arepas, try the original Venezuelan ones filled with ham and cheese, or beef, pork, shredded chicken etc. not that dry stuff they made you eat. Guanabana or Soursop is delicious and it has anti-cancerous properties. That other fruit is called passion fruit.

    Its all wrong! First Arepa its from VENEZUELA and also THE AREPA OF CHOCLO its a CACHAPA also from VENEZUELA as we all south american says: Colombia its the China of South America, they want to copycat all pur Venezuelan food! Thats a shame that you have all our Venezuelan Cuisine in Bogota! Jugo de Guanabana, Cachapa, and arepa are from Venezuela! If you hace the time to come to Miami once I will show you the real deal of Arepa, Cachapa and jugo de guanabana of Venezuela!

      Are you really this ignorant? Do you really think that when borders were arbitrarily drawn between the two countries each side got to claim what’s exclusively theirs of everything that the common history, culture, geography and ecology created before that time? People really need to read more.

    • @carlosizz89
      @carlosizz89 4 года назад +8

      lol no it was developed in both regions around the same time and technically Venezuela was part of Gran Colombia so no one really copied anyone. Venezuelans did make it popular to stuff them with different topings which is a good thing because it makes the arepa that much more exciting.

      @@roeltz This is a typical Venezuelan remark. For Colombians, Arepas are staple food, so they're boring like rice is boring. But we also have arepas like those in Venezuela. We call them "Arepa Rellena" or "Arepa de Huevo". So, there's no way they're better over the border-we just have more variation and you focus on the boring ones for a feeling of pride.

    Please make clearer descriptions of the food besides “Oh Wow” rambling incoherent, this is not standup it’s describing food. We would really like to know about the food, how it is prepared the ingredients in plain language without joking about it, not necessary and irritating. This could be a great program if done seriously. Other comedians have made this transition. Everything doesn’t have to be a joke. Bad planning poorly put together bad photo journalism. Decide what you are doing.
