Just to add to this information. If you receive a video, picture or link within messenger that redirects you to a login screen when you tap to open it.... DO NOT enter your login credentials. This is a phishing hijack page that may look like Facebook, but all you are actually doing is sending scammers your login credentials. The image that I used in this video is known as the "It's You" hack and is known to do this on some variants.
This is really complicated I have been to boost three times they said this guy has been in my email for almost a year he came through my messenger acting like my brother it was my brother's face it was where my brother and I have communicated forever and he said I need your help ASAP and I'm sure what can I do he said I just got a new phone but I need the four number code can I send it to your email I thought it was my brother it was his face it was all of our past conversations so I gave him my email and the minute I did it I knew I messed up even though I thought it was my brother I know that that four number code goes to your phone number I thought I had him blocked out of my messenger now he's put a moderator or generator on my messenger he was in my Google account he had 37 saved passwords that boost did take care of that I don't save passwords I mean this guy is all up in my Facebook and I don't know what to do I got the list of different numbers you can call to see if your phone has been forwarded like your phone calls and they were I had to fix that but I'm going to check it again today I don't know what to do even if I turn this phone off and get a new phone they told me that even doing a factory reset would not help I located some hackers on Google they wanted $650 and I am like I can't do that should I have this phone turned off would that help all of my kids live in another state I can go to another state get a new phone through a different company but is that going to get him out of my messenger I can open a new messenger I'm going to lose a lot of progress in my games I'm disabled I'm 57 years old I'm on a fixed income and I'm really proud of myself I mean I made it to almost 4,000 in Candy crush I am not in the best of health and I would really hate to lose all that progress but if that's what it takes to get this person out of my life would it help if I shut this phone down I don't have no tablets I don't have no computers no laptops I just have a phone I really need help and I don't know where to turn I've been trying for three or four months now and I'm really distressed over this it's really a anxiety thing I mean what do you do when they put a generator or he's already went through all my friends list they know it's not me but even if I get a new phone through a new company I don't know what to do I need help and I don't know where to go to get help this is insane and my phone when I was trying to get into Facebook they're like we acknowledge it's you because they knew some of my old passwords I've had the same phone number for 20 years so they knew it was me but I couldn't get past the generator or moderator or whatever it's called because that number goes to his phone so I'm at a loss here any help if you even get this message I hope you do and if you can't help just please tell me you can't it would be deeply appreciated he's even open to RUclips channel in my name I got a message in my email saying I know you want to monetize your RUclips channel and I'm like oh my God now I can't find the RUclips channel only God knows what he's posting because I don't have a clue and I wrote back and said no that is not me I don't have a RUclips channel I've been hacked please if there's anything you can do shut it down do what you have to do but that's not me so I'm at a loss here totally I feel helpless I'm disabled I barely can walk I have so much wrong with me I don't even want to go into it but I really need help if you can guide me somewhere or even if you can't help just please if you reply that would be enough thank you for your time.... We really need your help to understand how to fix this problem: the facebook account of my girlfriend was hacked and they post child abuse video on her page after that. On the top of this we have two business page connected to her profile that we really can't loose after investing money on them to make them grow. Now the account is blocked, we try all the procedure to unblock but everytime we send them all the info that they request and they send us to facebook to recover the account but we can't recover it because it's blocked. There is a way to recover the account or talk to someone? otherwise there is a way to just move the two business page to another account to don't loose all the efforts that we did. They hacked mine by using my friends to contact me saying that they were blocked on fb and they told him to contact a friend for help. So I did by agreeing for security code to be sent to my email. Now they have my fb because they changed all my login information and the phone number and the email address. So I'm completely blocked from getting it back.
My experience is it sends a link of my photo and some are not links but my images to my friends, I change the password already, and logged out all sessions, is it a bot or not? and it will really protect my acclunt already?
Good point about VPN @ Matylda. There is no harm in changing your password anyway. The only inconvenience would be having to sign in again on other devices. But yes, if you use a VPN, it will show various countries. You'd have to go on date/time stamps to figure out if it was you that had logged in. Either-way, change your password and at least you have piece of mind.

In this case, it is a bot that can send messages to all of your contacts. Hopefully to answer the question, no, you will not see on your device that these messages have been sent.
I would never open a message like this if I received it out of the blue, but I did receive this message mid conversation with a friend so I foolishly clicked on it thinking it was part of our conversation! Cant remember what I saw, in fact I think my phone blocked it...I thought nothing more of it until a couple of weeks later when all of my friends received the same message appearing to be sent from me. I've changed my password and informed my friends but it leaves you with feeling of stupidity, and an embarrassment that you've allowed this happen to your account, Its a really annoying scam
I changed my password on FB & i still don't have the ability to contact my friends via messenger & let them know- it show an "!" with a red circle 🔴 around it saying (cannot deliver)..... so this vid while interesting DIDNT help me do 💩 but you seem like a nice guy all in all👍
There probably is. But important to remember that the vast majority of these attacks are bots. They aren't personal, ie. there is no-one personally attacking your account. I'm a big believer in protecting yourself with the knowledge and prevention practices. I wouldn't encourage anyone to pick a fight with a hacker. Far too easy to accidentally click these things even when well educated on the danger. Messenger is terrible in this regard.

Alert your contacts on Messenger not to open videos from you. If you have changed the password you'll be fine. This is a very common problem.

They hacked mine by using my friends to contact me saying that they were blocked on fb and they told him to contact a friend for help. So I did by agreeing for security code to be sent to my email. Now they have my fb because they changed all my login information and the phone number and the email address. So I'm completely blocked from getting it back.
My experience is it sends a link of my photo and some are not links but my images to my friends, I change the password already, and logged out all sessions, is it a bot or not? and it will really protect my acclunt already?

If you click on the link but you have a VPN should you change your password and check the login activity??
Good point about VPN @ Matylda. There is no harm in changing your password anyway. The only inconvenience would be having to sign in again on other devices. But yes, if you use a VPN, it will show various countries. You'd have to go on date/time stamps to figure out if it was you that had logged in. Either-way, change your password and at least you have piece of mind.

I would never open a message like this if I received it out of the blue, but I did receive this message mid conversation with a friend so I foolishly clicked on it thinking it was part of our conversation! Cant remember what I saw, in fact I think my phone blocked it...I thought nothing more of it until a couple of weeks later when all of my friends received the same message appearing to be sent from me. I've changed my password and informed my friends but it leaves you with feeling of stupidity, and an embarrassment that you've allowed this happen to your account, Its a really annoying scam
I changed my password on FB & i still don't have the ability to contact my friends via messenger & let them know- it show an "!" with a red circle 🔴 around it saying (cannot deliver)..... so this vid while interesting DIDNT help me do 💩 but you seem like a nice guy all in all👍

There probably is. But important to remember that the vast majority of these attacks are bots. They aren't personal, ie. there is no-one personally attacking your account. I'm a big believer in protecting yourself with the knowledge and prevention practices. I wouldn't encourage anyone to pick a fight with a hacker. There is a saying, "it's like fighting fire with petrol". Good luck. All the best.

Nothing and I mean nothing I do is working they changed my email and the email is associated with another account as well now it only shows the one and won't allow me into the other one.
