Back in 1970 i met a Swedish girl who was on holiday in London.We had two wonderful weeks in swinging London..She went back to Sweden and we wrote to each other and she decided to come to London and live together.After a few months i said we are going overland to India driving in a VW are you up for it yes was the answer.The trip took 6 months and i ending back in Stockholm completely broke.I started working in a bakery starting at 5 in the morning.Once we saved enough money to fly back to the UK.52 years later we are still together 2 sons and 6 grandchildren.We live in a small village in Kent.I grow my own vegetables and drive a 1991 240 Volvo Estate with 263.000 miles.Still a bit of a hippy at my mature age.
This made me smile SO MUCH!! I met my (now) husband on a train while solo travelling through Scotland, and 2 years later I moved here and we got married. You never know!
Lovely. My daughter met her friend in England during her 4 months final internship. She came back home to Belgium to leave and move back living together after a few months. Now +3years ago and they are happy and expecting a little peanut (baby). Happy Nana to be. 🥰
What a heart warming story. My wife and I met on a blind date set up by my parents and her aunt and uncle when she was in Florida for a vacation. We spent nearly every day together while she was there and I knew immediately she was the one for me (it took her a bit longer. 😊) We were married forty-three wonderful years when she lost her battle with cancer. I met my boyfriend over 10 years ago on a random bike ride. I was riding to the beach around 9pm and he was riding with a group of friends the opposite direction. One of his friends complimented my bike, which started up a quick conversation with an invite back to his house for a game of Foosball. He happened to live in my neighborhood so I agreed to a game since meeting new friends seemed way more fun than solo ride to the beach. Probably a crazy idea at the time but they all seemed really kind. Anyway, he and I ended up spending every day together after that initial meeting and now have 2 beautiful children together. Life is great ... good thing I took that chance meeting a stranger that is now my partner for life. 😊
I had a very very similar story with my husband. We are from different countries and also met in 2019 on Internet. I immediately understood “ this is my husband” 😂😂😂 so I know what Kristine is talking about. Love you guys❤ you made me smile ❤❤❤
I love this. Absolutely beautiful. It's amazing how internet allows us to connect to likeminded people around the world - we're no longer limited by the close physical environment. Sure, in ways one could say we're less social and interactive nowadays.. But also the complete opposite. Social media can be such a cool place.
@@KalleFlodin You don't know how lucky you are. I've never found someone in my entire life, internet or not, in whatever country I've been in, that shared my idea of a happy life. I'm 42 now and I've given up on the idea of ever finding someone.

This got me a little misty. You're so lucky to have found each other. Please never take what you have for granted. Eight years ago I had this fear of being alone and just longed to have someone special, but out of stupidity, I settled. I spent the next seven years being mentally and physically abused, and only escaped after he almost killed me when he burned my apt down. Now I am free but still hoping one day that special someone will enter my life. Good luck to you both.
Don't make dreams, make memories! I was a Paramedic and an adventurer earlier in my life and I always had dreams of meeting a beautiful girl and living in the wilderness together but I never found the right girl that also wanted that. Now I am 69 years old and I'll probably never find her. I've had a good life, few regrets and very satisfied but still alone. I am so happy for you two.

OMG! Your story are so alike mine and my hubbys. We actually met IRL at a wedding for a couple of hours the first time. But then we did not connect for about 6 months (even if we were on eachothers minds). When we got connected we chattade for 2 months/talked on the phone all waking hours when not working. And then our first date was 4 days. My friends and family were also so scared when I was saying I would travel to this mysterious man a couple of hours away. And here we are.......18 years later ;) . Beautiful story of finding love…a year after my divorce I told my 7 year old son that I was ready to date and explained what that was about. One week later I had a leaning fir tree that concerned me so called a friend for an arborist recommendation. I’d had jokers in my land that were clearly not professionals…I wanted a professional. My friends arborist/forester called and said he moved from the area but recommended a man that he said he would and has trusted his life with…that man came to my door almost 19 years ago…I knew what I didn’t want (had that in my 26 year 1st marriage) but I had ti get crystal clear about what I DID want. I wrote it all down and drilled down to my 5 highest values for a mate…I completed that list one week before meeting my (now) husband.❤ He is the polar opposite from my first husband. I would not have been ready for this relationship had I not done the year alone, raising my son and figuring out who I was. Love comes when you love yourself and are content with yourself-you are a whole human. ❤❤

That sounds a bit similar to our story. 😀 Me and my husband met online over our mutual interest for off-grid living in 2015, he took a long journey to meet me, and we had a week-long "date" at my place in early December, then he came over again for ten days over yule and new years, and two weeks after that, he moved in. 😊 We still don't have our place though, still in limbo about where we're going to go.

Your story is so relatable and heartwarming. My fiancee and I started our journey somewhat similarly. She was doing her Ph.D. in Germany at the time, and I was 2500km away in Macedonia. But we'd known each other for years but didn't really get to know each other until we had our first date. And then after Covid hit, we didn't see each other for 5 months. Long story short, we realized after barely half a year that we were meant to be together. I love your videos and you are always so kind, you deserve all the attention.

For many years I have been drawn to Scandinavia, and knew that my Mother had Danish Cousins, butI didn’t know them. I saw a video about a cabin in Northern Sweden and my Husband and I were Smitten and we have spent many hours looking at these cottages and looking at different places in Sweden. We booked s surprise holiday to Finnish Lapland for my Husband. It was so beautiful. We haven’t found a cabin yet, or found a place, but I took a DNA test and found I was genetically 47% Scandinavian and Finnish! There was obviously a genetic pull towards Scandinavia 😀

Watching this video for the 5th time... My Husband and I were so very happy for you guys. We are so glad you both have gotten together for love, life, support. Live your dreams... never question the definition of why you sought this lifestyle out! We pray for you guys with winter here... always stay strong and try to you both. It is a life line to the life you are living. I gave up everything, leaving friends and family to be with the man of my dreams and soul mare. I do not regret it.. I’ve been trying to survive aggressive breast cancer... took chemo and then decided to to alternative treatment. All is going well. Recent bloodwork came back with zero tumor markers... I believe the body has a way to heal it’s self. You both have been so great about healthy living and recipes. We are blessed with you both we look everyday for new videos. Please don’t stop... it keeps me going through the cancer fight. God Bless you all. Please keep with the videos... they are my inspiration and up lift me, and give me peace and hope for a extended life to come...

We met through a dating website, wrote to each other for a couple of weeks before meeting in November. We spent the whole of the Christmas holidays together and he proposed 2 months later. Such a heartwarming story, you two will last a lifetime. My husband and I have been together for 32 years now. Met when we weren't looking while living in the same building and spoke from a distance once, then we met over a grocery buggy and had our first conversation - it was like in a movie where the world faded away. We had our first date soon after and I told him I was going to buy a house, raise a family, sell everything buy a sailboat, and travel. He informed me he used to build sailboats. We have been together every day since. We lived on our first boat for 2 years, within a decade with our children, moved to California, came back to Canada after our children had grown, and bought this boat which we have been living on for over 10 yrs full-time. Alternative lives are magical!

I had a log cabin, and the interlocking logs with a proper seal are amazing natural insulation, you really on ly need to insulate the roof, as the logs themselves are all you need. Both my grandparents emigrated to America from Finland, and where I reside in the United States in the state of Vermont is so very much like where you live. Here in Vermont, I have a camp with 10 acres of woods which is only 25 miles away from my home, so I can relate to how it feels to be close to nature.

We call it here in Canada a development community, eventually the builder puts a school, community centre and do on. But often here there may not even have public transport esp, if it’s new development.
I have had my land, built a cabin a year ago and still working on it. I was discouraged this winter by how hard it is to keep going in winter, but watching your videos really helps me get back into the mindset and not return to the city. I will look at the idea of filming it and putting it online, but I'm not a good camera person. Guess I will give it a shot and see what happens...Thanks for your great videos and inspration in dealing with unrelenting problems and the cool friends you meet that help you move forward...

OMG! Your story are so alike mine and my hubbys. We actually met IRL at a wedding for a couple of hours the first time. But then we did not connect for about 6 months (even if we were on eachothers minds). When we got connected we chattade for 2 months/talked on the phone all waking hours when not working. And then our first date was 4 days. My friends and family were also so scared when I was saying I would travel to this mysterious man a couple of hours away. And here we are.......18 years later ;) . Beautiful story of finding love…a year after my divorce I told my 7 year old son that I was ready to date and explained what that was about. One week later I had a leaning fir tree that concerned me so called a friend for an arborist recommendation. I’d had jokers in my land that were clearly not professionals…I wanted a professional. My friends arborist/forester called and said he moved from the area but recommended a man that he said he would and has trusted his life with…that man came to my door almost 19 years ago…I knew what I didn’t want (had that in my 26 year 1st marriage) but I had ti get crystal clear about what I DID want. I wrote it all down and drilled down to my 5 highest values for a mate…I completed that list one week before meeting my (now) husband.❤ He is the polar opposite from my first husband. I would not have been ready for this relationship had I not done the year alone, raising my son and figuring out who I was. Love comes when you love yourself and are content with yourself-you are a whole human. ❤❤

That sounds a bit similar to our story. 😀 Me and my husband met online over our mutual interest for off-grid living in 2015, he took a long journey to meet me, and we had a week-long "date" at my place in early December, then he came over again for ten days over yule and new years, and two weeks after that, he moved in. 😊
We still don't have our place though, still in limbo about where we're going to go.

Your story is so relatable and heartwarming. My fiancee and I started our journey somewhat similarly. She was doing her Ph.D. in Germany at the time, and I was 2500km away in Macedonia. But we'd known each other for years but didn't really get to know each other until we had our first date. And then after Covid hit, we didn't see each other for 5 months. Long story short, we realized after barely half a year that we were meant to be together. I love your videos and you are always so kind, you deserve all the attention.

For many years I have been drawn to Scandinavia, and knew that my Mother had Danish Cousins, butI didn’t know them. I saw a video about a cabin in Northern Sweden and my Husband and I were Smitten and we have spent many hours looking at these cottages and looking at different places in Sweden. We booked s surprise holiday to Finnish Lapland for my Husband. It was so beautiful. We haven’t found a cabin yet, or found a place, but I took a DNA test and found I was genetically 47% Scandinavian and Finnish! There was obviously a genetic pull towards Scandinavia 😀
So glad to see longer videos especially when it comes to things like this. It can't be explained in one or two words..so we thank you for taking the time to talk and the hours to edit and film this. We appreciate you both!!!

Live your dreams... never question the definition of why you sought this lifestyle out! We pray for you guys with winter here... always stay strong and try to you both. It is a life line to the life you are living. I gave up everything, leaving friends and family to be with the man of my dreams and soul mare. I do not regret it.. I’ve been trying to survive aggressive breast cancer... took chemo and then decided to to alternative treatment. All is going well. Recent bloodwork came back with zero tumor markers... I believe the body has a way to heal it’s self. You both have been so great about healthy living and recipes. We are blessed with you both we look everyday for new videos. Please don’t stop... it keeps me going through the cancer fight. God Bless you all. Such a beautiful story, you are perfect for each other, I was smiling throughout. Reminded me of how Anthony and I met. We met through a dating website, wrote to each other for a couple of weeks before meeting in November. We spent the whole of the Christmas holidays together and he proposed 2 months later. We married and are still together and happy 17 years later. I wish the same for you guys.

My husband and I have been together for 32 years now. Met when we weren't looking while living in the same building and spoke from a distance once, then we met over a grocery buggy and had our first conversation - it was like in a movie where the world faded away. We had our first date soon after and I told him I was going to buy a house, raise a family, sell everything buy a sailboat, and travel. He informed me he used to build sailboats. We have been together every day since.
We lived on our first boat for 2 years, within a decade with our children, moved to California, came back to Canada after our children had grown, and bought this boat which we have been living on for over 10 yrs full-time. Alternative lives are magical!
It is such a rare thing to see so beautiful, clear, honest & amazing souls like you two are, guys! You are people of their principle as I am and I think it is an amazing example for all of us and also the future generations! You are so brave to follow your hearts and dreams and the Universe awarded you to meet each other and share your experience with us. I had a log cabin, and the interlocking logs with a proper seal are amazing natural insulation, you really on ly need to insulate the roof, as the logs themselves are all you need.
Both my grandparents emigrated to America from Finland, and where I reside in the United States in the state of Vermont is so very much like where you live.
Here in Vermont, I have a camp with 10 acres of woods which is only 25 miles away from my home, so I can relate to how it feels to be close to nature.

I was discouraged this winter by how hard it is to keep going in winter, but watching your videos really helps me get back into the mindset and not return to the city.
