  • INSPIRATION!!! I know my podcasts are usually tough to get through, but this one’s different. Marisol speaks about how she will no longer be held hostage to the sexual abuse from her brothers and she will now let go of the family that told her to keep it quiet.
She is a source of inspiration and I feel honoured to review her story on my latest podcast.
Please support ‪@SoftWhiteUnderbelly‬ they are phenomenal.

I'm a survivor as well. I spoke up when i suspected my brother kidnapped & killed a little girl. I had to tell my story. My family disowned me even my siblings who were also abused. My brother is now on death row.

Some say this is the most common form of abuse. Im one of these survivors

I have heard the same, and am also a survivor of this. And among intra-familial sexual abuse cases, abuse by a sibling is the most common. But it's the least talked about.

She didnt say anything because she didn't want to destroy the person who is her hero, her Dad.

Jeremy I have purchased one of your tee shirts for my daughter who has suffered sibling SA, she will not talk to me or her Dad about it, she's 31 now and a mother to a son, and I am so proud of her. Keep up the good work Jeremy you are a wonderful person 💗

One of my friends opened up to her Mom about sibling SA and her Mom chose denial and yelled at her that she shouldn't make horrible claims like that. The abuse continued until she ran away at 15 and stayed away. Then there was more SA, but it wasn't her sibling. I guess that's the flip side (opposite this story) for kids who open up to someone.

There is massive stigma against victims of sexual abuse, because it is easier to confront the victims than the horrors of the abuse and those who committed it. Sexual assault in childhood is also more likely to make someone vulnerable to sexual assault later in life. That is the horrible card that is dealt many victims of child abuse. It disables us for life.

I was also SA abused by older brothers ,my mother was neglectful and just emotionally checked out !
    My personal opinion is
    Not every sibling abuses
    There other siblings this way
I believe they are also sexualy abused ,and play it forward ,we can't talk about sexual abuse and live in denial that a parent
Is a saint because they house and feed you , sorry not buying the great man thing doesn't make sense !!!I respect its her story but when you get older and wiser you stop protecting the main perpetrator!
Why do siblings do this , just a dysfunctional household .no ! why ...SAbuse ...
    It's just a dysfunctional
Family ,to heal we need to hear the truth ...
They push you away Because you speak the truth and perhaps others are not ...
Siblings who abuse will never tell the truth either
So the abuse moves forward to other children.!

When she started talking about going over to that couple's house and them doing things in front of her and her boss that even called a security guard over so they could ogle her in her new clothes, I was thinking what Jeremy said whrn he broke in -- this child SA stuff is really rampant.
I thought it was kind of a bad thing that my siblings and I were very sheltered (especially me because I was so obedient). I had to learn a lot of lessons as an adult.
Now I feel very differently because I could handle the lessons better as a more grounded adult.
My heart goes out to all those that are currently -- or who have ever -- dealt with these things as a child. I very sincerely wish you all peace.
I'm all choked up for saying that. Marisol told a very long and powerful story.
I've been subscribed to Soft White Underbelly for several years but I hadn't seen this one yet. Thank you, Jeremy. I have to go thank Mark now. I'm feeling so blessed.

Thank you. I was SAd by my older brother and cousin, and have been rejected by other family members who have found out about it. I think I would have rather been sheltered and known love from my siblings as you have, than have lived through abuse and gross betrayal as I have. I appreciate your thoughts, and hope you continue to stand as an ally for other victims of sexual assault and childhood sexual abuse. We need the voices of allies to help others believe us when we are ready to come forward.

@@bozieduble8541 I'm definitely in your corner. Anyone dealing with PTSD, really, because not being believed or even having well-intentioned people uncomfortable with a topic (people that aren't ready to acknowledge the dark side of other humans) who tell you to just get over it can be more damaging than the actual toxic event(s). BTW, EMDR therapy is proving to be amazing for me. You have to put yourself back in the trauma (emotionally) for a half an hour or so but there's very little talking and it works amazingly fast. It's bringing me peace and, again, I am wishing you peace, wherever you find it. (Talk therapy helps too but was too slow for me.) I'm so sorry for what you went through -- as a CHILD with TWO perpetrators -- and may still be going through. It's SO wrong. The bright side is that sometimes it's true that what doesn't kill you makes you stronger. It was true for Marisol and it's proving to be true for me too.
