Also Donnie is an ABOVE THE RIM player and he played below the rim. He was clearly trying to figure out his game while in the game, he clearly could have dunked on some players and definitely could have been way more aggresive!

This should be worrisome. The expectation to win one in Brooklyn and play Tenn, tough seems unlikely. Not good.

Autry will have to figure out some defensive schemes, way more pressure on ball guarding the 3pt shot and setting traps in the corner which is halllmark for the cuse! when Carlos is struggling against bigger player's let JJ run the point more and get "CHANCE BACK IN THE ROTATION SOON!"

Brent I keep seeing the saying a win is a win which is true but as you and Mike pointed out in your 5 question segment that a loss isn't just a loss talking about some of our losses being blowouts and that hurt our ratings index or whatever that one metric is that the committee uses that takes into account bad losses...wouldn't the same apply to a weak win like this if it came down to SU and another team with pretty much the same tournament resume but better wins against lower opponents??

A win is a win. Lemoyne came out with something to prove tonight. They had a good year last year and brought in some solid transfers from other programs for this year. And yes, if they lost tonight, it would be bad, but it wouldn’t “end their ncaa tournament hopes”. It’s literally the first game of the season Brent… Was it a great performance by cuse? No. Did they show lapses in certain areas? Absolutely. Will they be fun to watch this year and make the ncaa tournament? I think yes. I’m not the type of fan to overreact at games like this, unlike some other Syracuse fans, for which pessimism seems to be so common in this fan base.
Fair analysis otherwise, but I do not agree with the “doom and gloom” tone overall. I look forward to seeing this team smack the toothpaste team next week 🪥

They say that, in sports, the key is 'strength up the middle'. Defensively, we have a void: a too small guard and big men with the feet in buckets.

Interesting how last year was such a success, high caliber coaching yet i see a systemic weakness in coaching easily since joining the ACC. Sick of the we got a work on things. Sick of inability to get in game changes. Well for those who felt we needed a complete regime change for a decade now... Oh boy. Remember the Big East era we are undefeated into January and ranked top ten regularly, now it is fearful of Colgate. We're middle of the pack in Conference. Regardless, we'll know soon enough.
Slow down and let the game come to you especially at FT line and hustle such that you leave it out on the court.

Very underwhelming game😠 I was finally hoping this would be the year to get Syracuse basketball back to the tournament but if they play like this, it will be same as last few years. A bubble NIT team.
And Brent is right, winning by 4pts vs LeMoyne will lower their NET ranking significantly… I hope this was just a opening game jitter but Colgate game will tell us a lot. If we lose or barely beat Colgate like last few years, it’s going to be a longgg season

Brent beside the free throws matter moments I would not push the panic button just yet! If SU blew out Lemoyne we'd say, "it's only Lemoyne" "we still don’t know how good they are" Listen UCF upset No. 13 Texas A&M on the first day and No. 19 Texas lost to Ohio State. The point is Syracuse WON! Bell added another dimension to his game, Petar and Jyaire discovered what their roles are on the team and Autry learned how he was going to have to rotate his pt guards to match up against other teams bigger guards namely: Carlos, JJ and hopefully Chance. Autry will add a few defensive schemes that will be more effective against weaker non-conference opponents and will keep them in the game come Conference time. Plus, SU had a lot of defensive sitting on the bench in the likes of Kyle Cuff, Naheem, Westry and Moore. They will be utilized!

The fact that we are already talking about potentially pushing the panic button after first game is bad… I hope this was just an opening game jitter but many ACC teams and top 25 teams blew out their opponents…

No it wasn’t did you watch the game? There is no way cuse should’ve struggled the way they did any other top acc program would’ve dogwalked a team like this
