Another fantastic episode. The second image blew me away. I had to rewind. 👍 👏
Thank you very much, Ian! Yes, I love that one too :)
Mads you never waste my time with your vlogs and epic photography !!! You are my biggest inspiration for technique and destinations !!!
Haha thanks Mario! I'm happy to hear that :)
Mads you are truly an inspiration and your photography is second to none.
Wow, what a promo to the next episode. Wonderful drone work again.
Thanks a lot, Tom! It'll be a blast! :)
Mads love the colours in the aurora shots.
Thank you very much, Paul :)
Wow! Talk about keeping me on the edge of my seat for the next video! Wonderfully subdues images this time. I can't believe that someone was actually surfing in that freezing water. I know the city lights dulled the Northern Lights but I liked the way the light pollution added to the last image of the lights. Keep them coming sir, I can't get enough of your videos.
Thank you very much, James! Tomorrow's episode will be a blast! :)
Love the photographs Mads, the first one's just perfect ! Liked this video with pleasure 👍
Thank you very much, Frederic - as always ;)
Lovely work Mads as always, especially like the long exposure work of the receding waves leading your eye to the mountain. Nice teaser ending 😄
Thanks a lot, Jamie! Yes, I love that one too!
Another great insight to one of those far away places on the 'one day' list. Love the receding lines shot.
Thank you, Steve! And yes, even for me it seems far away! Flight tickets are as expensive as Denmark - USA!
You always provide great content, your videos are never a waste of time. Don't worry about showing images that are less than perfect, they can still illustrate composition as well as what to try to avoid and why.
Thank you as always, Keith! :)
Hi Mads. Love your videos. They're a great combination of being informative and inspirational. Thank you so much for sharing your adventures. Can't wait for the next video !
Thank you very much, Tim! :)
Great shots of the Aurora, thanks for sharing.
Cheers.......Peter
Thank you very much, Peter :)
I really enjoy your approach Mads- no pretence, informative and straight to the point. Oh...and awesome locations! Keep up the good work!
Thank you very, very much, Glenn! I'm happy you like the format :)
Beautiful scenery, and wow, can't wait for the next video :)
Thank you very much, Ceilih! :)
I'm running out of compliments for your videos Mads. Superb images as always, what a beautiful location.
Thank you very much, Peter! Just keep them coming ;D
Great video Mads, lovely images, vertical pano from the drone was superb.
Thank you very much, Paul!
Brilliant mads, great location and awesome images
Thank you very much, Jim :)
Always such detailed information on the location and beautiful images 👍
Thanks a lot and I'm happy to hear that :)
That yelling in the preview of next week is to me what landscape photography is all about. Having all the right elements working for you and being happy, living in the moment.
Yes! It was just one of those times! I had the chills!
Just like a kid at Christmas. Mads you are on fire mate!! That preview looks insane
@Jason Mac Cormac Photography Raised in Alaska we would see the NL's in the fall of the year. Who doesn't like fall? So we would drive out in the country with our girlfriends. It is exciting. I don't recall if I ever saw a band of light like that.
Loving these videos Mads, I'd love to make it to Lofoten! Looking forward to seeing the northern lights in your next video, looks amazing! Sam.
It was a complete surprise to get those kinda northern lights! Video will be out tomorrow :)
amazing work and a magnificent place
Thank you very much, Ariel!
What a cliffhanger :D great episode and stunning photos
Thank you very much, Andreas! :)
In early videos , you used to mention at least the shutter speed, the aperture, and the focal length of your shots. It was very useful for us, amateur photographers, to improve our skills. Hope this could be back again, and thank you so much for your videos !
You are very welcome Jean-Pierre. I don't do that anymore since it's not necessary and I prefer the aesthetics better without. I often repeat myself when it comes to the settings, so you should be able to guess them ;)
Absolute magic Mads, thank you once again for sharing your expertise and knowledge :-)
You are very welcome, Ian :)
Another great video Mads. Loved the reflection, and your definition of not very good and mine are completely different, those Northern Lights images looked pretty damn good to me. Looking forward to the next one with eager anticipation.
Haha thank you, I guess I compare them with the aurora shots from tomorrows episode ;)
This is a stunning location, thanks for sharing!
You're very welcome and yes it is!
Another great episode mate. For weather that was not so great the images came out pretty bloody good. 😁
Hehe thanks a lot, Christopher! Yes, I like that moody stuff ;)
Your shots and drone videos are really nice Mads!
Thank you very much, Johan!
Nice Mads! - Look forward to the banger!!
Awesome! It'll bang - like a lot!
Every image a stunner as always - wonderful, inspiring work.
Thanks a lot! Very happy to hear that :)
Amazing photos. Looks like an awesome location. And cant wait for the next episode 😉
Yeah, it's really beautiful! Next video will be cool :)
Excellent stuff Mads. Spent an Easter on Lofoten while working on my PhD - way pre-photography. I was subjected to horizontal rain endlessly. You might have convinced me to return....
Hehe, in that case I understand why you have been hesitant ;)
I really liked the aurora photo! I also appreciate that you give such useful information in your videos on when it's the best time to visit a place and what focal lengths would work. Thank you for this wonderful content.
You are very welcome. I'm happy you like it! :)
Another great episode. Agree, make them as long as you have content.
Yes, I think it's important to not fill too much in there which doesn't make sense ;)
Mads you make a great job with all your videos. Amazing Pictures and video footage. I travel in May/June to the Farore Island and in October to Island. And next year in March to the Lofoten. :-)
Thank you very much, Andreas! That sounds like a busy but very awesome plan! :D
Nice work in a great location.
Thank you very much, Vera :)
Lovely shots.
Fantastic series Mads! I'm planning my trip for February and with your videos I'm able to get a much clearer view and great tips on the locations. I'm also short on time there so I want to get the maximum out of it and knowing a few locations will give me better options if the weather or light won't cooperate.
A big thank you for your amazing videos and tips Mads!
Another great and informative vlog as usual. Such a beautiful and iconic location, how could you ever get a bad shot there even trying to 😉
That's easy! Shake your camera ;D
Its always a good day when Mads releases a vlog. The images are superb as always. :)
Thnk you very much, Mark! :D
Great vlog as usual,Iam looking to go early next year to do some photography with a couple of friends, excited.
Sounds awesome, Chris! I hope you get an awesome experience!
Cool location, can't wait for the last episode!
Last episode will be great! I have some awesome images to show :)
Norway is so beautyful!!
It is indeed!! :)
I Wish you continue more so great Photos, Thanks. Sorry for my English, I'm can't speak soooo good english because I'm fromm German, and I Wish i Life in Norway!
Thanx again for another great video Mads. Keep em coming ;-) Going up to Lofoten NeXT Winter. Really cant wait . This will be the 3 time im up there so i really hope i get some aurora action . Not had the luck with that before unfortunately . Have a great weekend :-)
You are very welcome and I hope you'll get some auroras eventually! I guess I was just insanely lucky!
Again brilliant. You said that your aurora photos did not turn out well. I for one would be proud of what I saw.
Thanks a lot, Jim! I guess I'm just a little spoiled in that regard ;)
Dang you go to some great places Mads. I gotta get here too! Great vid as usual!
Thanks a lot, Tony! Yes, you should!
another great video, loved the still from your drone.
Thank you very much, Joe! :)
Always a good watch Mads... your drone panos...! Great journey your on mate
Thank you very much, Ian!
I must say you always give such thorough and detailed information in your videos..so truly appreciated for those of us who don’t take courses and lack time to explore as much as we would like...like having the perfect personal guide...indispensable hands on information...those lights...absolutely indescribable...certainly something that needs to be experienced at least once in a lifetime...so happy I came across your channel that carries me away...till the next time my friend stay blessed...and if you are in Denmark now ....WARM👍
Mads you don't half sell a country when you share your vlogs and I'm sure many people will wish to travel to these places as you share such great images. This aerial footage really set up the scene for some spectacular final images and as always you leave the viewer gasping for more
Aawww thank you so much :) Yeah I really like the aerial stuff :)
I'd be more than happy with your Northern Lights images from this location Mads, no evidence of light pollution that I can see 👌
Awesome work as always , really helpful information for locations as well 👍👍
There's loads on the clouds ;) But thanks a lot!
Interesting blog again, you never disappoint.
Thanks a lot, Nina! I'm happy to hear that :)
I would love your take on photographing EL TEIDE national park in Tenerife, or the magnificent landscapes of Lanzarote.
I'd like that too - they both look very impressive! :)
Amazing images as always, Mads. I especially liked your final photograph. Quite stunning. The colours and lighting were so amazing. Did this involve much work in Photoshop? Thank you.
Normally not, but you can make a great difference with only one slider ;)
I love these episodes of Lofoten Island, how long have you been for and for how long. Do you think march is a good moment to visit and see some northern lights ?
March should work, but aim for early March as you won't have much night late March. I was there for four days, but very lucky with the weather!
I thank you, I will aim early March, April it's too late to see Aurora borealis. after you have to be lucky, I cross my fingers
Great images again Mads ! Lol.. the cliffhanger :D
Yeah, I guess I gotta keep people to the fire ;)
Great imagesMads. Enjoyed watching all your videos.
Thank you very much, Janette! I'm very happy to hear that :)
Long or short, I enjoy all of your videos. I'm not sure if I'm getting a Geography or History lesson, mixed in with some fine Photography. Thanks Professor!
Haha thanks a lot, Brad! I should probably put in more "fun facts" ;)
Hi Mads, maybe check out Montenegro. Its Beach, Mountains, Lakes all in a close area.I lived there for 4 years and the camera never stopped clicking.
a fast google search shows some amazing landscapes! I'll look more into that for sure :)
Interesting & different from ur normal landscape, lovely northern lights image's. Great.
Thanks a lot, Michael! In what way did it differ?
I could see the simple image's and what creative potential they offered but, to me lacked you or a presence, if you can understand that. The recent B&W to me, showed another creative aspect. Considering Ansel Adams majestic simplicity of tonality rendering the light soul of the landscape and of himself, the fire within. I think your work is amazing & would love to have created any of the images and videos.
love your videos mads 👌
Thank you very much, Craig!
Always look forward to your videos mads, your visiting places & country’s that are on my bucket list to visit. Love all your photos & me personally would be proud if I’d taken Aurora photos like yours. With your tips videos have improved my landscape photography loads 👍 with that ending clip I can’t wait for next weeks 🙂
The next episode will be great! It was a night to remember!
Love this video, and stunning photos :-)
Thank you very much, Ihor!
You made it sound like your images were going to be disappointing. All of your images were wonderful to see. I loved the aurora images with the clouds and lit-up towns!
Hehe thank you, Stuart. I guess I just compared them to tomorrows episode ;)
Beautiful mads 😀👍😀
Thank you very much, Steven :)
Great Video Mads! Skagsanden Beach is a fantastic place :)
Yes, it's very beautiful. Also a location I can revisit!
Yes me too :) You've got nice and good pictures from there... here is a panorama from my visit
www.flickr.com/photos/59004610@N02/39488178924/in/dateposted-public/
look forward to your last video from lofoten :)
Cheers Ronny //
That's very beautiful! The texture and colors are great :)
Thanks Mads :)
oh!! that hook at the end is bordering on being cruel!! :-) Love this Mads
Haha! That's the point ;) It'll be nice :)
Great video, well done
Thank you, very, very much :)
Happy howl at the end is awesome!! Another great video. Did you have two cameras?
Hehe awesome! I actually have three :)
Hi Mads, thx for the video, love the last pic!!! I also photographed here for the northern light in an October, found it a bit difficult to compose with lights from nearby village and lots of photographers on the beach, my question is did you use long lens to get the last pic? Coz for me using wide angle lens, the mountain was so far away, thank you!
Hi, no I used a 20mm f/1.4 and cropped it a bit :)
Love the ending :D
Haha perfect! :)
I've always wondered about the Aurora. Do the lights build slowly or just suddenly appear? The other question was about the music in this one. I have always liked that piece. I looked in the list provided but couldn't tell which it was. Do you recall?
In regard to the song, it's "Archangel" by Electus :)
The auroras differ a lot. It can be both although there's usually some kind of activity before they "explode"
Great!
On my bucket list since watching Norwegian drama Twins
I've booked accomdation on that beach v38. Hopefully we will get som Nordic Light.
wow
Hej Mads! Kører du med polfilter på din Phantom drone for at få de farver frem i havet? :)
Photo at 4:45 my favorite - STELLAR!
Thank you very much :)
cool video
Mads you mentioned bringing out an editing course a little while ago any news on that yet?
Yes and no. I said I had to return from Iceland first. I might get time to make it here in April :)
at 4:47 did you use sigma 20mm 1.4 ?
I always use tat one for night photography (almost) :)
Have you ever used ultra wide angle lenses down to 14mm or even 12mm? Think the lowest I have ever heard you mention is 16mm.
Yes, by now I have here in Iceland. I'll show a few images in the upcoming videos :)
Curious about it. Have a 14mm one and it is quite challenging but lot of fun to use so would be nice to see how you use one.
Lofoten maps?
Amazing location. You don't half visit some great places.
Haha no, I guess you don't ;)
Why not visit Senja if you are still so close. It is more exotic and not so explored.
@
