Great comprehensive review! I am a Peloton app user with the Echelon bike - which is a beautiful, lower cost alternative. I just purchased the Peloton, so as I wait, I can still get in my rides/workouts. Just followed you on Peloton!
I am glad I am not the only one who tried it out one time and loved it! We had to wait 10 weeks but it was definitely worth it! I love it ! I do completely agree about the self motivating thing, if you are not one who goes to a gym or has a regular routine even at home, is not going to make you get on it. Love your thoughts on how the classes range from 5-60 mins which is huge !

I have a fully equipped garage gym and even I have a hard time working out but peloton classes are truly fun. I used another bike with the app for a while but just ordered my peloton. It arrives on Friday and I’m so excited! 😁
Up north here, it would be about how it's too cold/icy/blizzard-ish to drive to the gym. 🙂

@@youngwildanfreee I ordered it on December 3rd I believe. So it wasn’t too too bad. It was supposed to be delivered on the 22nd but they didn’t show up. Then it was pushed until the 27th. There customer service and delivery experience SUCKS. But I’m sure I’ll get over it quick once I have the bike haha

This was a super informative video. Self motivation is huge. I use the bike everyday. My husband on the other hand has used it maybe 6 times in the last 35 days since we got it. I also had to buy a different pedal since I wanted my husband to test it but didn’t want to invest in shoes for him unless it was something I knew he would love/use as much as I do. I’ve never had cycling shoes so that will be different once I make that step.
Thanks for watching! I used reg tennis shoes when I first tried out Peloton, but I’m loving the cycling shoes so far! There’s something with husbands and Peloton’s LOL! 6x is better than my husbands 1x in 60 days!

The fact that even after quarantine I don’t have time to go to a gym, and I loved spin classes, but no one has a spin class at 1AM. Just got my Peloton and I wish I didn’t wait so long!
Same issue here no early am classes at any gym near me. Getting mine this week!

I use Peloton app with a recumbent bike. It’s like doing all the workout from a recliner. Haha
You still get a good workout while having the best seat in the house.
I've got one of these on my list. I've been using the app on my treadmill and love it. I asked for gift cards toward it for Christmas. I'd love to hear how you're using the bike in conjunction to your running over time.

I got lucky with mine. I ordered it on Dec 3rd and my bike is getting delivered on Monday (Dec 21st) when I ordered, I was definitely prepared for them to tell me it was gonna take 3 months 🤣 to my surprise it was only 18 days 👌🏽 I think it’s probably because we have a distributor about 40 Minutes from my town because I’ve been hearing so many horror stories of bikes taking months and months.

@handygirl Definitely lucky! Do you live in a major city? I live right outside of Philadelphia, so I was hoping my wait time would be short, but it was still about 10 weeks. I ordered 2 weeks ago. Delivery is scheduled for late March.
@@SweetnSourqt3 I live outside of a major city. I live outside of West Palm beach, FL. About 45 minutes north. Did you order the bike +? I got the regular bike. I do hear the bike + us taking a very long time.
You do forget that a gym has lots of different equipment. But for me in UK I can get a gym membership for £15. so £40 is massive for me. Only a posh gym with pool get close to the £40 or more. but with on top having to get £1500 for the bike.
I got a £150 bike and the peloton app. just joined today 2 month free then its £12.99 a month.
you can get hand weights for under £15. it is a good idea to get a yoga mat for £12. then you can do a yoga class after a ride to stretch.
I do think they should offer a year payment option and cost less, many other app's and exercise companies offer this.
I do find that the apps charging a high price when they are worldwide thing. a local gym is limited to the number of people they can have as members. Peloton should be more like netflix. cheaper price to get lots of members instead of expensive and having a limited market

The membership doesn’t make sense. So I can purchase an excercise bike from another brand and just use the peloton app/classes and that is cheaper than purchasing and having a peloton account? Besides the screen, what differentiates this bike from another brand?
I’m only familiar with the Peloton bike, so I can’t go into detail on the differences from other bikes. But I will say that there is a seamless experience in buying a Peloton & using their offerings on their products. During each class, instructors change speeds, resistance, etc that is targeted at Peloton’s settings. You can use a different bike but you’ll have to do some guesswork at what a complimentary speed/resistance level would be - that’s just one example. It’s definitely not for everyone so it’s good to do some research beforehand!
I’ve heard that the overall quality and feel of the peloton is just better than most bikes out there. You get what you pay for!
In my experience you have access to way more content/classes with the bike. The digital subscription isnt the same. I could be wrong but i dont think I am.
You don’t get the cadence and resistance zones on the screen you are supposed to be in using the app with a different bike. So you have to be a really good listener to stay in the recommended zones. You also can’t track your progress at all when it comes to the workouts because it will only track your output level when you own the bike. Leaderboard is also not available and overall it’s just not as fun using the “app” version only of peloton.

Why would that swivel void your warranty? Couldn't you just take it off if you needed to send the bike back?
If you add or do anything to change the bike from its original form, it voids the warranty.
