Seb should definetly watch Blazing Saddles (1974) as soon as possible! It's such a classic spoof western that I would love Seb to watch. Anyone else who wants him to see it can start recommending it as well ;)
The thing about smiling while taking the picture, back when photography was fairly new, it took I think around half an hour for a picture to actually be taken, it could've been longer I'm not sure, so whoever was getting their picture taken had to stay as still as possible the entire time to not ruin it. So if someone wanted to smile, they'd have to hold it for a long time
Ewan McGregor was shooting another movie in the area, and when asked if he could like a cameo appearance, he was happy to cooperate. (Source: IMdb) I believe this was the first time McGregor and Neeson reunited since filming The Phantom Menace.
I haven't read all the comments, so somebody's probably already mentioned it, but the guy who was so impressed by the dollar that he made the kid take his hat off? Josh Brolin. Like Thanos Josh Brolin.
I've watched this one so many times, but it manages to kill me each one, even now through your reaction, and I personally prefer it even to both the Ted movies
The entire time I was watching this it reminded me of Back to the future 3 and then that cameo killed me 😁 I think it's my favourite cameo in anything ever, it's just so fun 😁
Keeping a hand soft was a reference to the book Of Mice and Men. One character worked on a farm but kept one hand in a glove full of vaseline to keep it soft for his wife.
I can imagine getting poked or scraped by a tumbleweed, but dying from having one's throat slashed by one is rather unlikely, outside of a tornado, in which case you've got other problems as well. The main danger of tumbleweeds is that they can help wildfires spread even faster when they're on fire and tumbling about. This is actually a real, documented, and escalating problem in California, in particular.
You'd have to imagine a duel in the real American Old West, because that was actually something only rich, snooty guys did back east and in Europe. There is only *one* actual duel I'm aware of, having had a keen interest in the Old West since childhood, and that took place between Wild Bill Hickok and Davis K. Tutt in Springfield, Missouri (barely out west). They were separated by about 75 yards, and it wasn't exactly a quick-draw duel. Tutt fired first and missed, while Hickok aimed carefully and killed him. Everything else you've seen of the Old West regarding gun duels in movies and on TV is pure fiction. No one wanted to duel because it was too dangerous. If someone wanted someone else dead, typically they would bushwhack them from behind.
Fun facts about Liam Neeson in this film: *Liam Neeson agreed to play the role of Clinch on the condition that he do a broad Irish accent. *Liam Neeson plays an antagonistic outlaw cowboy. In Prick Up Your Ears (2006), Peter Griffin jokes that without his knowledge, his kids will be "as hopeless as Liam Neeson playing an American cowboy." *When Liam Neeson was asked to play the antagonist he accepted due to a scene in Family Guy where Peter says "Imagine Liam Neeson in a Western! Ha! With that funny accent of his!" Source: IMdb
That wasn't simply bad with the beans. It was cornbread. If you haven't had it, it's great. Imagine a crumbly cake made from corn meal. It complements the beans very well.
Hey seb I just want to say that you are my favorite reaction channel and I was wondering if you had heard of a movie called warm hearts its really good keep up the great work
If you want to watch more westerns instead of the Spaghetti Westerns of like Clint Eastwood you could always go more Sam Elliott or Tom Selleck with movies like Crossfire Trail, Quigley Down Under, Shadow Riders I think the other one would be battle for Sandy River or something like that those are all good movies as well
$1 US was around $26-$28 in 1882. The thing that makes it so crazy is that a loaf of bread was MAYBE a nickle. A horse would cost anywhere from $1-$5. A gun wouldve been around 25-75 cents likely
I've never thought about it before or looked it up, but are Seth and Charlize like really good friends? She shows up in so much of his work and just has a fun time. Idk I like it.
I don't know if keeping one of your hands soft works, but I know I read it in book that's almost a decade old called "Of mice and men" and there was this guy called Curley who hand one glove full of vaseling to keep it soft for his new wife. That marriage didn't last long either, but the outcome is very different to this one lol
The old man playing Albert's dad was one of the funniest parts of this film for me. He had so many great one liners in this, lol. "OW! That came out of my penis!" 😂😂😂
14:31Ewan McGregor ❤️ 😍 Ewan McGregor was shooting another movie in the area, and when asked if he would like to participatein this film, he was happy to cooperate. (Source: IMdb) I believe this was the first time McGregor and Neeson reunited since filming The Phantom Menace.
Bread and beans were common staple foods in the Old West, although today this would be considered a rather plain meal by most modern Americans. Actually, many do like beans and bread or tortillas when we eat them, but when we just think about plain bread and beans, somehow it seems lacking. I don't know why this is.
Some bustles were made of soft materials, but steel cage bustles were also quite common. I seriously doubt the latter were nearly as heavily constructed as on the one in this movie is, though. Therein lies the humor of exaggeration.
Yo seb You should watch the Creed movies but for them to Make sense You’ll need to watch the rocky Movies But do what you wanna do But I recommend the Creed movies there all good
In real life, there were special dueling pistols for rich, snotty people who did that sort of thing (mostly Europeans, but some Americans in the east who had some silly notion of "honor"), but even in movies, out west there are rarely special pistols for this--they just used their sidearms. Now, in the real-life Old West, people generally did not duel, so this topic is moot. If they did, then they'd use their defensive sidearms, most likely, unless they were transplants who brought this idea of "honor" with them and their dueling pistols.
A typical daily wage back then was about $1. I doubt that dollar bills were rare (obviously this movie exaggerates), but maybe $20 gold coins were, somewhat. They each weighed a troy ounce, as this was the going (and fixed, at the time) price of gold at the time.
The Indians trusting Albert just because he speaks their language is a bit of sarcastic humor. Maybe this is supposed to make fun of a western trope, although I don't recall this being a trope. 🤷♂
The Back to the future cameo... made the whole movie for me
Same lol
Exactly. The best part for me too was the back to the future scene.
What time is it at?
@@FrshIce_Midas17:39
*Christopher* freaking *Lloyd* ! ✊
17:39 crazy that this movie had a back to the future cameo
Especially since back to the future came out years before this movie
The back to the future cameo is the best ever. You have to wathc all 3 movies
That back to the future cameo is fucking perfection omg😂😂 I always get so happy seeing Doc and I’m so excited for back to the future reactions
Seb should definetly watch Blazing Saddles (1974) as soon as possible!
It's such a classic spoof western that I would love Seb to watch.
Anyone else who wants him to see it can start recommending it as well ;)
I was coming to comment the same thing lol
yes!
Absolutely. Mel Brooks at his best
Yes! Great Ask. Thanks.
And spaceballs is a good watch too
It's the chemistry between Seth and Charlize that makes this movie work for me. I would watch two hours of them hanging out and talking.
ye exactly
"Take your hat off boy that's a dollar bill!" 😂
This movie was incredibly underrated imo, I loved the humor and story of it and was surprised to see it's poor ratings on IMDB.
Such an underrated masterpiece!
So glad to see another reaction to it!
One of my favourite movies every. The humour is on another level.
neil patrick harris saying 'challenge accepted' like he was in how i met your mother
Seth Macfarlane might just be one of my favorite voice actors of all time. Highly recommend the new series! Absolutely hysterical!
The thing about smiling while taking the picture, back when photography was fairly new, it took I think around half an hour for a picture to actually be taken, it could've been longer I'm not sure, so whoever was getting their picture taken had to stay as still as possible the entire time to not ruin it. well even if they didn't, 90% of the photo be no smile, so thats what would be the majority of what you see.
Completely missed the Obi Wan cameo😂
Same here bro 😂
NPH saying "challenge accepted" is such a good easter egg/joke
This is auch a good sit back and relax movie. I used to fall asleep to this allll the time.
This movie, even more than Ted, is what live action Family Guy would be like. It's exactly how Macfarlane does his intermitent gags on the show.
ýes yes yes.. I hope more reaction channels watch this one. It's such a fantastic comedy imo.
I absolutely LOVE this movie I've seen it so many times😂
I've seen this movie a million times never noticed that is Obi-Wan( Ewan McGregor)
Ewan McGregor was shooting another movie in the area, and when asked if he could like a cameo appearance, he was happy to cooperate. (Source: IMdb) I believe this was the first time McGregor and Neeson reunited since filming The Phantom Menace.
if you want to watch a good modern western, watch The Magnificent Seven! Denzel, Chris Pratt, and others!
There were definitely more than two cameos but Seb didn’t know who they were 😂
Fun fact I met the actor who played the chief native American he's related to one of my mom's coworker. I took a picture with him and he signed it
You met Wes Studi? Awesome!
Im so glad to see Seb react to the movies I love recently it's great to see his reactions to this type of movies😂
Finally someone has reacted to this, it’s a hugely underrated movie!
As a die hard himym fan Neills Line "Challenge accepted!" gave me the biggest smile ❤
I absolutely love the brothel-lunch scene. First class comedy writing with acting perfection.
I haven't read all the comments, so somebody's probably already mentioned it, but the guy who was so impressed by the dollar that he made the kid take his hat off? Josh Brolin. Like Thanos Josh Brolin.

-Youre late.
- For what?
- Fair enough.
The death chant being Tarzan boy is hilarious
I did not expect the back to the future Camino
7:57 it’s the toy maker from dr who
Actor Wes Studi plays Cochise. Studi is from the Cherokee Nation.
The cage under the dress was exaggerated but yes, a hoopskirt does have a metal frame under it.
Love the mustache song!!!
Day 4 of asking: U should watch the Karate Kid movies! (The 80’s ones) They are sooo good!!
Awesome reaction of my favorite movie!!!!😊😊😊😊

The fact that the ad on this video was sets better help video is amazing lol. just see reminding me mid video that im depressed and lonely
So few people react to this movie, which is unfortunate. Nice reaction!

I personally agree with this one
This is one of the best movies that I know of. I think i have a problem i've probably re-watched it up to 15+ times by this point.
I guess you're not familiar with the song "Tarzan Boy", which was what Albert was humming during the duel.
Movie so funny and awesome, reaction video so awesome. Good luck with the another video. 👍😂
This movie is exactly what that giant tiger head in Aladdin was really talking about...
There's apparently a Ewan McGregor cameo as well, but I couldn't pick him out.

Oh do watch the back to the future trilogy. The third is my fav

Seb just casually having cigars on his desk.
The old man playing Albert's dad was one of the funniest parts of this film for me. He had so many great one liners in this, lol. "OW! That came out of my penis!" 😂😂😂

oh God, Liam Neeson's character is literally how I play Arthur Morgan in Red Dead 2
You should totally watch The Ridiculous 6, Adam Sandler and the gang in a Western spoof, so funny.
14:38 I love the How I Met Your Mother reference
This film was raked over the coals by film critics, but managed to double it's budget in ticket sales at the box office. Pretty good film, IMO.

Yes, generally people in the 1800s never smiled for photographs. There might be some exceptions, but I don't recall having ever seen any.
THEY HAVE CHALLENGE ACCEPTED FROM HIMYM omg i need to watch
Cant miss a seb upload.
Some bustles were made of soft materials, but steel cage bustles were also quite common. I seriously doubt the latter were nearly as heavily constructed as on the one in this movie is, though. Therein lies the humor of exaggeration.
WATCH "The Quick and the Dead"
You should watch some of the old Godzilla movies and watch Godzilla minus one when it’s available
Yo seb You should watch the Creed movies but for them to Make sense You’ll need to watch the rocky Movies But do what you wanna do But I recommend the Creed movies there all good
nah nah nah , Edward is Literally John Marston, his wife works upstairs at the bar 😂😂😂

A typical daily wage back then was about $1. I doubt that dollar bills were rare (obviously this movie exaggerates), but maybe $20 gold coins were, somewhat. They each weighed a troy ounce, as this was the going (and fixed, at the time) price of gold at the time.
*Western movie suggestion*
*Blazing Saddles*
But also the *Back to the Future* trilogy...and *Karate Kid* one.
3:10 to Yuma and Bone Tomahawk. both are great more modern westerns.
magnificent seven is really good, its a good western. the 2016 one

People wouldn't smile in pictures back then because pictures were seen as serious as getting a painting.

Seb your hands are so big, I'm obsessed.
Such an underrated movie
Will you watch La La Land??
The Indians trusting Albert just because he speaks their language is a bit of sarcastic humor. Maybe this is supposed to make fun of a western trope, although I don't recall this being a trope. 🤷♂
Aw, you missed the gag when he's talking to the native Americans, and he used Mila Kunis as the word for "fine" 😆
