New to Azure (your video the 1st) I did a srdf migration back in the day no other way other than a backup restore a really problem massive databases restore time. Also Linux and Oracle databases, thanks.
Yes, its really great vedio to watch and build your skills in setting up Azure SQL DB MI successfully. Thanks to authors. This vedio helped me in understanding the flow of Azure MI in a crystal clear.
Thanks for the session. can you please clarify following 1. Is there limitation on the amount of data to be migrated from on-prem to Azure SQL Managed Instance 2. How much time it takes to backup and restore 1TB of data ? If there is 2 TB data to be migrated does time to copy increases in linear fashion? 3. How does validation gets handled ?
Excellent demo but little bit missing. Video didn't discuss about compatibility assessment and handling compatibility issues if exist. Could you please let us know what what all are the compatibility issues might occur during on prem to Azure SQL server managed instance.
Thanks for this. Also i have a question, how about sql migration with 5tb of data. Is this possible using blob storage? As par i know blob has a limit to 1tb. We tried to backup our onprem sql using blob storage but always fails because the storage has limit to 1tb.
Nice vedio, I have follow all the guidance and created virtual instance. But I am unable to access by host string through SSMS. I don't have idea how to troubleshot it Error : A network-related or instance-specific error occurred while establishing a connection to SQL Server. The server was not found or was not accessible. Verify that the instance name is correct and that SQL Server is configured to allow remote connections. (provider: TCP Provider, error: 0 - A connection attempt failed because the connected party did not properly respond after a period of time, or established connection failed because connected host has failed to respond.) (Microsoft SQL Server, Error: 10060). Can you please help ?
