Well done Geoff in getting to the bottom of those issues. Your ability and design skills really are getting next level mate. In this case the proof of the pudding was in the grill! Very nice mate.
Well now my fear of pre purchase is gone. Thank you. Was worried when I heard a few people having the fan issue and cracked hood. But small issues aside, my armies and statues will print well, fingers crossed. Great video and great information.
I suspect there was NO fan issue. Honestly it's not an ideal practice they have there using a cable tie on the fan. If it's just SLIGHTLY too tight it distorts the fan... and in a factory setting with everyone rushing, it's bound to happen. So if it does, take the bottom cover off, cut the tie free, replace LOOSELY. Job sorted. The case, however, is all down to the luck of the delivery guy. My likes to kick parcels down my driveway 😁😁😁
I've always pronounced bas-relief as bah-re-leaf not bass-re-leaf (bass as in the fish, not the guitar/clef) in my head. I found out today I could have been my American self and ticked off both the British and the French by saying this. Thanks for the revisit. Whenever I need to replace my two resin printers, I'll be looking at Uniformation based on what you've had to say about the GK2 and GK3.
Thanks for this new video. If you had good relationships with foundries, some money, donations of castable resin, you could consider printing the largest possible model (30x16x30 cm) and casting it? A nice bronze would be great right?
Ditto, ordered within a few mins of preorders opening, they said it was meant to be shipping by 20 Sep but when I contacted the customer service they’ve said they’ve been delayed until Oct 5 now. Not sure if that’s the case across the board
Uniformation is always innovating & it seems as though a lot of engineering goes into these machines. That said there are a couple things about the GK3 that baffle me. Why is the fan being held in place with zip ties & why is It not possible to close the lid when the build plate is on the drip hanger?
Hey, it’s been a long time subscriber and I love your channel and I do consider you one of the most honest reviewer there is, have you ever done a review on heygears ultracraft? And now there are new ultracraft RS.? I I know that the ultracraft is expensive, with the release of the less expensive RS. It seems they’re throwing their hat into the main stream 3-D printing
I'm going to be honest with you, Heygears won't return my calls. I've messaged them several times and they just don't respond. Whether this is because they think my channel is a little beneath them, or whether they're afraid of a little honest critique, I really don't know. But I will pass your message over to them... though I don't expect they'll reply... as usual.
Mine was supposed to be shipped before September 20th and so far nothing. Wrote to Uniformation today and waiting for reply. Update: Received the response today, saying my order, that was supposed to be shipped in September, will be now shipped in early October. Fingers crossed!
I've changed dozens and never recorded the experience as I thought it was something that was probably already well covered already. Next time I'm try to remember to reach for my camera 😁
Yeah, it's expensive, but it's got about 85% of the build volume as the Bambu X1C FDM printer, which is about the same price. Seems like good deal to me!
Well here's the thing.....the gear i buy must be worth buying without me having to spend time tinkering to get them fixed and working properly. The reason why this GK3 had problems is because testtime or adjustment of gear is last step in the proces some manufacturors worry about.............they now push the gear on the market as fast as possible and wait whatever the problems are before they take action. Would you also consider replacing an complete engine on a new car to fix the problem they sold you??
So GK3 Ultra is open material friendly, meaning I can use any resin for printing? Even this printer uses "auto resin feeding system" using their own tanks?
Yes, you can put any resin in this printer, as long as it's on the 405 wavelength, which most are. Uniformation sell their own resin in the feeding cartridges, though whether they plan to sell empty versions for self-filling, I don't know. However, you do NOT have to use the self-feed cartridge system. You simply turn this off via the menu options and fill the vat manually as you would on other printers.
Will you be doing a full review of the monocure Resin? I Heard that there is far less drooping than with other castable Resin. What is your experience?
Unless you do macro photography like you see in my videos, you'll probably never notice a difference. But if in doubt, there's always the easy option to change the liner for nFEP 😁
@@vogman yes, i just got an offer with the printer with 2x acf files (could had chosen between acf and nfep).. but you are right properly wont see the diffrent, and mabye it was the fan after all ;)
Too bad that you made the two modifications at once (new fan + PFA film) hence you cannot pinpoint which of the two was causing the pitting issue. This is quite concerning for all of us who ordered ACF films from Uniformation and are willing to tinker with the TSMC settings in order to try to improve the overall print speed while maintaining pristine print quality at the same time. If the pitting issue is caused by the ACF film, then it's a waste for us and a shame that Uniformation even sells them.
Thanks for the follow up, nice to see the original observations were easily rectified. I have been eyeballing this printer.
I like to be thorough... it didn't seem right to leave this half done. It deserves to be seen at it's best and these were easy issues to rectify 😁

Next level for me Dan is "Almost competent" 😁 - but thanks for the kind words mate
Yep, Geoff, I enjoyed it very much, as usual, and I am happy to see you continuing to do great work. Cheers, mate.
Thank you so much for posting this video! Would love to see more grill content!
Glad you enjoyed it. 😁

This printer is amazing. Hopefully going to order one soon. Maybe a black friday sale?
Solid. Thank you man....this is 1000 fold on my next purchase list now. x
It's just... the best. It is. It has no competitors right now 😁
At around the 00:40 second mark, I nearly had a heart attack at the faulty fan sound. Thought it was my computer for a second. 😅
Sorry buddy. Just keeping you on your toes 😁😁😁
Cool. I'm still waiting on delivery for mine...
Hope you enjoy it! Scratch that... You WILL enjoy it 😁😁😁

You'll love it 😁😁😁
I do like the sound of this printer
The point is it can handle anything... from the tiny to the large, and it has the detail to cope 😁

I'm pleased to hear you've had an update. You'll love it when it arrives. Just make sure there's someone else there to help you with unpacking
Do you have a video with changing the fep, last time I tried I ended up with a mess

I get your point. Such perfection tends to come with a high price tag... but it shouldn't have to really.
Unfortunately Uniformation canceled my preorder and won't allow me to reorder at the original price 😒
what program is it please?

Already done it buddy. Nice stuff, but a little pricey ruclips.net/video/ST7geq9nHTo/видео.html
@@vogman OK somehow that Video went under my Radar. Will watch it now. Thanks.
Guess mine is coming in October
That's what most folks are telling us 😁
If you have a king of large printers, do you have a king (or maybe I should say, prince) of small printers?
This should answer your questions www.vegoilguy.co.uk/3d-resin-best-standard-printer.php 😁
Hi sorry for off-top would you planing to review anycubic new photon mono 4 and 4 ultra in my opinion its a wery interesting machine, thanks) )
I've asked Anycubic very nicely and agreed to stop attending their office parties if the send me one, so fingers crossed 😁😁😁
i really regret getting the acf film with my purchase.. damn it
